I had been driving to summerlin to get them done so when she opened I was so happy that I wouldn't have to make the trek to my other place. I haven't tried anyone else at this location but when I went on a Tuesday night 20 minutes before she closed there was only one other lady there. At her eastern location I'd sometimes have to wait 30 minutes to get in with her so I was pleasantly surprised that I got in and out quickly! So I let my eyebrows grow out probably for the last couple months, Today I was finally ready to get them done. I looked up shops & Shila's was recommended for me so without checking reviews I went in. Its location is good, the building looks taken care of but when you walk in there is a awkward vibe, it's silent & you get told to sign in not a hello or anything. I sit down in the chair, I immediately tell her what I want starting with them cleaned up she says "okay, i will clean them up then we will look" I'm thinking okay, she starts threading them. About a 2 minutes & a half she hands me the mirror & asks "what do you think?" What I seen hurt my feelings. She gashed my top left eyebrow, she gashed the bottom left & looks like she almost started trying to make a new arch making it incredibly thin. She nicked the bottom right eyebrow & the clean up was hardly that! Me being a humble person I told her "okay, we are finished" when really I wanted to go left! I was so ready to leave the shop, she gets on the phone while ringing me up & then says "it's $12" WTH! I'm paying you $12 for a butchering? Staring at me while I'm signing the receipt, No I didn't leave a tip. I was on fire! No, I DO NOT RECOMMEND SHILA'S. I wish I would have read the reviews. I have taken my wife here several times throughout the years and 3/4 times she will complain to me about verbal abuse by the patrons. I don't know why they feel the need to comment. Just because my wife shares their culture does not mean that she's a part of their family. They should not be speaking to her any more disrespectfully than they do their regular clientele. I was kind of hesitant waking into a new place to get my eyebrows threaded but immediately upon walking in, Shila greeted me and was super welcoming! Her salon is nice and clean and tranquil as well. Upon sitting in the chair, Shila asks you how you want your eyebrows so you won't get a surprise when she's done like most places. This place takes walk ins but I felt the need to make an appointment last minute. The woman said she would take me in even 15 minutes later after i called and I originally planned to work it out within an hour time frame. My boyfriend & I go every month, which makes it easy to fill a stamp card. We never make appointments, but we're lucky to always have good timing & be there before a rush of people come in. Be sure to sign in when you enter. Their staff changes & I don't know their names, but there are times where I'm satisfied with my eyebrows & other times where I'm extremely satisfied with my eyebrows. It's an extremely calming environment at both locations. Threading can be uncomfortable but I still look forward to getting my eyebrows threaded. My mom also religiously goes to Shila Eyebrows Threading and wouldn't trust anyone else with her eyebrows. Pricing is reasonable and the customer service makes you feel at home. Yet, I haven't decided if I'll be coming back. The lady who did my eyebrows had a bit of an rbf when I first walked in, which was fine-she did make small talk but then when I went to pay and used the yelp check in discount, she didn't seem too thrilled. Just a side note: they charge $0.50 for cards with a transaction under $10. Since my brother was also getting his eyebrows done, I waited and noticed that we were treated differently than the other two customers that came before and after us. Have been coming to Shila's for about a year. Usually service is great. Today it was not. I asked for a cleanup and for the brows to be on the thicker side. I don't believe the gal that did my eyebrows, Gloria, cared about what I asked for/wanted. She rushed to the process and left my eyebrows uneven (left thick; right thin). Will definitely avoid her the next time I go back. She may benefit by actually listening to what the customer wants and taking her time to make sure she delivers what they asked for, rather than rushing to the next customer. I'm pretty sure the next person would not mind waiting knowing that when their turn came the same level of care and attention would be delivered. My friend recommended me to Shila about 5 years ago and I haven't let anybody else touch my eyebrows since! I have very thick eyebrows, but Shila always manages to make them look so nice and clean. I get many compliments thanks to Shila! She does a great job every time. I don't know where I would go to tame these eyebrows if I didn't have her. Now that they do appointments, it's become a lot quicker and simpler to get my eyebrows done. Although, I work an on call job, so I can't always make an appointment so sometimes I walk in, put my name on the list, and wait until I can be seen by Shila.
