Family business and I don't know about the rest of you reading this. But I would rather do business with a local family business rather than a corporate store. They get to know you and you get to know them. Friendly people they know the best way to succeed in business is to know your customer. They have options I didn't see in other stores. I cannot speak highly enough about this store and the people who run it. The service and sense of community this store provides have kept me and my friends coming back for years. We first starting coming here when we lived at Campus Crossings, which backs up to Shifty's--or as we lovingly call it--The Beer Store. Since then Shifty's has expanded to include hookah, a growler station, and now liquor! From our first time in, Grant and Ms Joye made us feel like family. Grant is always ready with a tip on a new beer or can point you in the direction of the best liquor for your needs. Now they've even got a sample station set up! Fill up your growler, mix a six, and stock up with all your party essentials. You can even get a keg! Ms Joye never forgets a face and will make you feel like you belong--there's a real Cheers vibe here. She's got an ear for the community and will let you know about events or spread the word if you have one coming up. Besides being a gem in the community, Shifty's has a great selection. They've got all the local beers as well as anything else you could want. Singles, six packs, party packs, you name it. This is one of the best tobacco shop & liquor store in the boro. You're greeted with a sincere hello when you walk in. The place is clean and inviting. They are Steelers fans as well Lol!!! I wanted to get some clubtails long ice tea and they were out on the shelf but the lady that was at the co uh enter went back and found one in the back...great customer service. This place is super underrated! It's in a spot close to lots of other places, so I imagine a lot of people just think it's a beer and tobacco store. It's not! It's also liquor, people! They have a walk-in cooler and they keep lots of different liquor and beer in it. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. I left my license and the man who rang me up walked it out to my car. It's has all kinds of neat decorations and stuff for parties, like necklaces made of little liquor bottles (still full of liquor, of course!) strung together and wrapped in plastic. They basically have any drink you could want as a chaser, too, ALL COLD (even the 2 liters) and snacks. It's an all-in-one, fantastic liquor store done exactly right. The first time I walked in, my instant thought was "why have I never been here before?" And I declared I'd never go anywhere else in this town for liquor again. And I haven't.
