Wanted to do an update because it's been 6 months today since I met Rita and became a non-smoker. I'm a full-fledged non-smoker. Three months today! Woo-hoo! After 12 years of being off cigarettes, I started smoking again. Ugh. Such a bummer. And I didn't think I had another quit in me. I started smoking when I was 12 years old, and smoked on and off alternating with cigarettes, nicotine gum and nicotine patches for the next 32 years. Even when I had nearly no nicotine for years, I would fantasize about smoking, and bum cigarettes; seeing someone smoke was such an intense temptation. I chewed nicotine gum for years continually until my hair started falling out, I tried so many things, I read Allen Carr's the easy way to quit smoking and the easy way for women to quit smoking about a dozen times between the two. I seem to have developed rheumatoid arthritis which is terrible and terrifying, and smoking is a cause for it which I hadn't known before. I had to quit, but also didn't think I could. I have a couple friends who quit smoking decades ago with hypnosis, and also kept thinking about how Allen Carr mentions in the beginning of his book that he actually quit himself with hypnosis! I found Rita here on Yelp with all of these incredible reviews. I smoked as much as I cared to/could until the appointment, and have not had one puff of, nor serious interest in, one cigarette since. Rita is the real deal. First, you have to believe it is going to work... then you go see Rita and she will make your dreams come true. I saw Rita for smoking... I had smoked on and off socially since college. Then I picked up the nasty habit full time because all my co-workers were doing it and I thought it relieved stress. I started smoking when I was 15yrs old. I am now 48yrs old. I have smoked at least a pack a day for 33yrs. More if I'm out on a girls night drinking wine! In the past I tried Chantix which worked for about 2 months but I had strange dreams and my entire personality went in the toilet so as soon as I stopped taking the pills I started smoking again. Rita, I cannot express how forever am grateful to you. After 47 years of smoking and countless failed attempts, I never thought anyone could help me to put an end to that ghastly habit. My teenage son had given me the ultimatum of either stop smoking by year's end or he was going to begin smoking on January 1st !!!
