I was rescheduled to 7/29 with the same provider, show up to my appointment for them to LIE IN MY FACE and say they called me to cancel because, guess what? another emergency. front office tells me this provider is frequently out, at this point I'm thinking "WHY WAS I SCHEDULED WITH HER THEN," she responds with "well she has the most availability" which makes no sense if I've already been canceled twice by the same provider. I can't imagine I'm the only one this is happening to. I'm scrambling now to change my PCP so I never have to step foot in this office again

I call many offices because I'm a care coordinator but the way I was treated and yelled at by this older woman was very bad. Not only did she fail to listen to what I needed to ask and was requesting but she even refused to provide a name and refused to let someone else assist me besides her. She kept yelling that I wasn't her boss, when all I called to ask was a confirmation that she had received a faxed that I had sent over. Unbelievable!

I had a horrible experience with this office, and this is your warning to stay away…read more I was extremely clear that I did NOT want NAD+ added to my treatment because it was not being billed through insurance and I did not agree to pay for it separately. I never received a separate NAD+ IV, and at no point was I clearly told that NAD+ was being added to my regular IV bag. Then afterward, I was sent a $250 invoice for NAD+ that I do not believe I ever received. When I questioned the charge, I was suddenly told that the NAD+ had supposedly been mixed into my regular IV bag. That explanation makes absolutely no sense based on what was communicated to me during the appointment. I specifically declined this treatment. If something is being added to a patient's IV, especially something they already said they did not want and would not pay for, that should be clearly explained and consented to beforehand -- not claimed afterward once a bill is questioned. The communication and billing surrounding this were completely unacceptable and seriously damaged my trust in this provider. Patients should know exactly what is being put into their IV and exactly what they are agreeing to pay for before treatment begins. Based on my experience, I would absolutely stay away from this office.

His broad scope of expertise, humanity, tact, and sense of humor have made a lasting positive impact on my life. Like most of his other patients, I can say without hesitation that I consider him and Peggy to be a part of my extended family. I will never forget receiving an unprompted call from Dr. H late in the evening many years ago after they learned of a sudden health crisis that my parent suffered. Thankfully, my parent's crisis eventually resolved; but that brief check-in from Dr. H touched me deeply. I knew that I was not alone and that he genuinely cared. Unheard of in modern medicine, when you call their office after-hours and connect with the emergency line, the phone rings at Dr. H's house. They trust their patients not to abuse that access; but the small number of times that my family needed it, Peggy and Dr. H were on the other end of the line, providing useful information and reassurance, even at 4AM. My experience as a patient of Dr. H's played no small role in my own journey towards becoming a physician. I often find myself trying to recall one of his totally unique and pithy one-liner jokes when I need to break the ice with a new patient. Family practices like this one are virtually impossible to find these days. The world would be a much better place if everyone had a medical team like Dr. Horowitz and Peggy.

With covid and how things are run differently now, communication is KEY! Peggy sent me all the health forms that needed to be completed in a timely manner via email. She was wonderful at responding to my emails, and she made things so easy! They went out of their way to see me in person in a really short notice as my visit required necessary clearance for my nursing program. They only have certain days for appointments but she made an exception for me as my work schedule conflicted with their in-person office visits. Peggy also sent me my labs on a Saturday as I requested if she could send it to me as soon as they receive it.. they are closed on Saturdays and she did that for me (I am so grateful!). I also want to say that I drove from Monterey Park to Dr. Horowitz's office on a Friday during the time that there is so much traffic (traffic alone in this area if you already know is hideous) but I would do it again!
