We needed to have the house painted immediately per the home inspection. I was away on a work trip for several weeks in Eastern Oregon so my wife had to arrange the whole thing by herself. She picked out the colors and cordinated the appointment. I returned to a beautifully painted house. However, the painters only left us leftovers of 2 of 3 paints used. They did not leave us any extra for touchup for the main color - Benjamin Moore in Midnight Blue. When we had a new front door installed I needed some touch up paint to cut in around the door so I made a trip to Morgan Paint Co. They sold me the correct paint color after looking up the code. They tired selling me the right line of paint, as there were three levels. I went with what I thought was right, but when I got it home and used it, the color was correct, but it was the wrong level of glossiness. It was too flat and thus didn't blend in at all. I took the gallon of paint back and after a little more research, the crew at Morgan Paint Co. set me up with the correct paint, a low gloss this time. They were extremely helpful and exhcanged my paint with no hassles. Now my front door looks perfect! The price per gallon was a little high, but thanks to the quality of the paint and the high level or peraonal customer service I received, it was worth every penny.

While most Ace Hardware stores are similar, they are independently owned and each has their local flavor. While stopping here to have a window screen replaced (Tom is the best and replaces in real time or by the next day) I found so many other items I didn't know I needed! Haha. In the garden section I found whimsical yard art and handmade aprons, one for me with bright cherry sunflowers; and a classy black and white version for a friend. Never to early to start Christmas shopping! The store has supplies for electrical, plumbing and carpentry work. Also small kitchen appliances, gadgets and cookware. Large selection of outdoor grills and BBQs. Garden supplies, soil, perennials and annuals. Shoveld, brooms, shears and other garden tools. They even have a Hallmark section with gifts and go cards. Plus locally made cards with the most gorgeous photographs of birds, wildlife, flowers and scenery from the Gorge. Yep, had to buy a few! While I have shopped at many Ace Hardware stores and have a loyalty number, for some reason it wasn't showing up. Even though the store was busy, the cashier helped me get it resolved. Came in to get a screen repaired, left with gifts & greeting cards, a shovel, broom, apron, flashlight and yes, the newly repairEd window screen!

I have purchased two saws, supplies, fittings from this location over the years. Usually spending at least $100 or more. I come back today to drop one off to get serviced and overhauled only to be told it would be a month before I could get my saw serviced. It wasn't it'll be a month as you leave it , rather come back in a month and see where we are at. I asked as to why the delay. I was given some excuse as to why they didn't have the help etc. I asked if the owner of this facility was aware of this situation as well as Stihl as they are an authorized service center. There was no real response to that. I asked if I came back a month from now what guarantee I wouldn't be told the same month delay. I was told I couldn't be guaranteed that. So this being a round robin conversation I advised that this is really a lack of customer service on Sawyers. Not only is sawyers ACE losing my planned $1000.00 dollar purchase of other equipment spend and spend on repair. I will never set foot in this Sawyers store again for anything. I will also be following up with Stihl in regards to their dealership contracts and what's expected of their dealers. Guess I won't buy Stihl anymore. It is exactly this lack of customer service that will hinder local business. Oh yeah I was told I could go to Toppenish or Gresham to have my saw serviced. I really don't think the gentleman running this service side really is looking out for the interest of the success of the owner and this business. You might consider putting some good people in place to fix your saws faster. This is really unfortunate.

Prices are fair, and coupons are plenty. The downside was the customer service. Walked in on a quiet Saturday morning. Only two people working, no one said so much as a, "hi, can I help you," or a welcome or thanks for coming in. Even when we're actively looking for velcro (absolutely none in the store as of this review), and I mentioned we'll go to Home Depot. The store manager didn't even acknowledge we were there. I worked there in the late 90s, and that wasn't tolerated. Customer service was always top priority.

It smells SO AWFUL. If the stench is not coming from one of the cars parked along that side of the building, then it has to be coming from the building, itself. If there is not a dead body on the side of the Fred Meyer store, then they have some kind of seriously disgusting issue with rot or mold that literally smells like a dead body. There is NO WAY the employees haven't noticed. The checker assistants have to go over there to collect carts. I'm not exaggerating when I say it smells like something is dead over there. Someone needs to figure out where that smell is coming from. It's a health hazard on the basis of how bad it smells alone, but nothing smells that bad without there being a biological cause. It smells bad enough to merit three paragraphs. If it is an employee's car, this is one of those cases where they need to be written up for disgustingly unacceptable hygiene. There is no acceptable excuse for any area of a grocery store to smell like that. My second most pressing issue with this store would be the weights and measures. Is Weights and Measures like, not even a thing in Oregon? Because the sale tags at this Fred Meyer are wrong *more often than not*. They do a great job of putting tags up, but it doesn't seem to be anyone's job to take them down. I've been to this Fred Meyer a few dozen times, and it feels like I've caught at least one price error on every single visit. It's so bad that it almost feels intentional. You think you're getting low prices, and if you don't pay very close attention at the register, you might not even notice that such an incredibly high percentage of the sales tags are expired. I'm not saying this as someone who is angry with Fred Meyer. I still shop here. I've just stopped believing the sales tags. For example, a few days ago I was going to buy a bag of Nature's Path Peanut Butter granola, because it was marked down to $2.99. I even checked the tag to make sure it wasn't expired, and it wasn't. I actually like the chocolate flavor better, but it was $4 more. I specifically chose the peanut butter flavor because it was on sale. But even after I hit 'total,' the price was still $6.99. It's like the sales tag was just completely made up. Weights and Measures would have such a field day in this Fred Meyer store. I bet they could raise enough money from bin label error fines to pay for all kinds of community necessities. Third, the handicapped restroom in the women's room has a door that is impossible to lock, and it has been this way for at least sixteen weeks. I'm kind of hoping they get sued by someone in a wheelchair, at this point. That's so messed up to let sixteen weeks go by without fixing that. In case management reads this and decides to address the issue, they need to make sure the door can be locked by someone without much physical strength. If the door needs to be lifted up to lock, then it is absolutely not accessible. How would a person in a wheelchair lift the whole entire door up to get the latch to fit? I wasn't even able to do it with all my strength, and I tried pretty hard. I haven't had any issues with product quality or employee attitudes, as a lot of other reviews mention. The employees I've come across have been friendly, if it can be considered friendly to not care that most of your customers are being deceived and overcharged. So, like I said, I would still shop here, but carefully. Keep in mind that most of the sales tags are mythological. And don't park on the Super 8 side of the store unless you're able to hold your breath on your way to/from your car.
