After shopping here for a little more than three years, I think it is safe to share. There is enough paint to go around. It is located on a section of South St. that goes one-way towards Downtown Orlando. Access Primrose St. from whichever direction north or south and then turn towards west, this is a one way. Parking is restricted to street level along South St., be extremely careful with traffic. This is not your big box hardware store with tons of people at your disposal to guide you to every little piece of fancy tool or gimmick you see on HGTV. The limited number of people who work here are extremely dedicated and knowledgeable in their product. If you ask for something specific and they say "We don't have that." Believe them. They know. The store is crammed into a little space with very narrow walking aisles. However, the staff here is knowledgeable and can definitely find anything comparable to what your favorite HGTV host was talking about. Normally, the people who shop here are private contractors with small individually owned companies. The claim to fame here is paint. They have over a gazillion gallons of paint stored inside and out back, yes....in the backyard. You name the most fanciful of paints, they have it. From the $55 a gal Benjamin Moore Aura, Pratt and Lambert, Sherwin Williams, to the elastomeric exterior Color Wheel and anywhere in between. They carry exterior, interior, stains, gels, wood, metal, industrial, and home paints. If there is something specific you want, like maybe a low VOC, they can make it for you. Did I mention that they have a mad scientist ...um mixologist who will mix up anything? Oh yeah, he is a genius. They have those giant color swatches available in the store. But it is advisable to bring your own color swatches with exactly what finish and the amount you need. From there the mixologist will help you find what you need. If he can't find your exact request he'll whip up a batch for you. Word of caution here.....since it maybe very hard to replicate this special mix, buy enough or a little extra. Word of caution have a paint strainer handy when you are ready to paint. Since some of this paint may sit outside for a while there could be some sediment formation. No worries, strain and paint. So where does all of this paint come from? There are several big name paint companies when they mistint big orders what will they do with the "damaged" paint? Sell it to this store at a significantly lower price. That saving is passed on to you. Three years ago the price for a gal of paint at Wonder products was $5. Today it is $8. So for $8 a gal you can get a $55 gal paint, if that is what you want. Since this is a mistint paint store the price for white paint is much higher. There might be special features that you wish for, they will take your order and ask you to came back later. In a day or two they have new paint coming in all the time. Your special order may be in there. Whatever you fancy they are willing to work with you to get there. You just got to have some patience. Great find, great store, friendly reliable solid staff.

Fast forward to seven months later, last week... walked into the store with the paint can to match from seven months ago. Stood at the counter and saw the employee thru the back room door standing and chatting. After a few minutes of being completely ignored (no "hello, be with you in a minute") I loudly said "hey, can I get some help". The response was shouted from the back room "yeah, when I'm done". I turned and asked the only other person in the front of the store if they had been helped and the other customer said yes, but it took awhile. After hearing the woman associate in the back laughing and having a good time with a male associate, they both came up to the front counter from the back room. Very rudely was asked "what do you need"... one more can of this ceiling paint. She typed for a moment and then said "we don have that". OK, do I need to ordering or go to another store? "No we don't carry it anymore" The male association who I find out is the manager of that store was leaning on the paint shaker machine like he was so exhausted that he need it to hold him up tells me, without looking at the computer or the paint lable "yeah, we don't make that anymore"... I ask how it's only 7 months old, do you have any other suggestions? The manager of the cheney highway store replied "nope". So I left and will never buy anything from this company again. The staff at that store were rude, lazy and literally offered no help. I am curious to call another Sherwin Williams to see if the paint has really been discontinued across the globe. Manager Joseph C was unprofessional and quite rude.

Doesn't everyone in NSB know by now that Southern Paint and Wallpaper is the go to paint store in…read morethe area, they are so much more than just a paint and decorating supply center. If you don't know everything you should about paint prior to starting your project, these guys can provide unparalleled levels of customer service and product knowledge, this is something you won't find at your local big box stores. I stopped in today to look at my options to prep and paint my in-ground gunite swimming pool which to me is a daunting task. Thankfully the staff here put my mind at ease - they have the right products and the expertise. This first trip which was part of my due diligence turned out to be my saving grace, sure you can find anything you need online but nothing replaces talking face to face with an expert, especially one who understands the challenges and the complete process. This is a beautiful store filled with everything you need whether you're a professional or a DYI type person like myself - it's rare to find this level of customer service and knowledge these days at a retail store. I still have some work to do prior to start the painting process but now I'm confident that I've found the right place to get all the supplies and support to complete my project - what I thought may be a weekend project turns out to be a project that requires a few weeks to get the results I'm looking for, when considering the prep work, dry time after pressure washing, first and second coat cure times before refilling and starting the pool back up. Stopping in here was a great choice I'm so happy there are still place like this in my neighborhood...

The first crew had poor quality. Everything was stained, drops of paint everywhere. Careless attitude to their job. They unnecessarily destroyed the front porch spraying it with white paint and now it stays that way. The second crew was better but they worked only one day and could not complete what they started to do. That crew is no longer working. There were days when they did not work at all. They promised to do within 1 week, but it is now three weeks. At times it looked like they abandoned us. I took pictures of their doing and posted them on Yellow Pages. The only reason we hired them was because we thought they would provide a higher quality. UPDATE: Today as of June 18th, finally they mostly are done after 3 week, except for the porch which they committed to re-paint.

SUED, WON, AND STILL HAVEN'T COLLECTED!! BEWARE!!! READ ALL REVIEWS!…read more My mother needed to have her house repainted as it had not been painted in over 20 years and we were going to rent it. Mark Sley, who owns the company, and I, came to an agreement. I had two other quotes and chose his company. I live in South Carolina and my mother was staying with me as she was seeing doctors near me. Our agreement was 30% down and the remaining when the job was completed. The job duration was to be completed in approximately 6 days. The contract was signed November 13, 2020. On December 22, 2020, I was informed that the job was completed. Mark Sley was told before the job contract was signed that he couldn't be paid the final amount until I would inspect the completed job. My house is a nine-hour drive from my mothers house that was "painted". The following is what I found: Walls weren't painted, drips were down multiple walls, intercoms and fire detector which was contracted to be removed and covered remained, pops in walls remained, lines were obvious on the walls in the hall outside the upstairs bedrooms where tape was showing, ADT security system was cut, ADT indoor security camera cord was missing, USB cord to firestick television was missing in upstairs south bedroom, paint on 2 bedspreads and one mattress cover, paint on brand new carpet in downstairs guest bedroom and on the living room in middle of floor, paint on four window treatments which were a material that couldn't be cleaned to remove the paint, paint on pickled pine mantel and marble hearth, every single shade was missing at least one (and most both) of the fittings that secured the blinds in place and the face covering were missing, the wooden blinds in the downstairs west bedroom had paint on them and the face coverings were off and on the floor, one of the outside trash cans had paint on the inside with the paint cans in the trash and now on the inside of the trash can, a pair of tennis shoes (with paint on them) were left outside the front door and a shirt was left on a chair in the living room. Copies of day labor time sheets were found in the trash can where day labor had been hired rather than professional painters! Mark Sley came over and discussed what needed to be done. (PHOTOS WERE TAKEN) On April 2nd, again, after taking the 18 hour round trip drive, I arrived to find most of the problems were still there. There was a new spot was on the wall in the master bathroom where a hole must have been punched into the wall. Spackling paste, about 6 inches in circumference, was on the wall about 7 feet high, but it had not even been sanded, much less painted. I drove on an 18 our round-trip journey to find the house not finished once again. I returned again on April 17th (keep in mind that Mark Sley called me each time to tell me that the house was completed). While there on April 17th, I had to rehang a pocket door that was bent and not on the track or working. Two closet doors were off track as well and had to be fixed. I let him know that the blind in the downstairs southwest bedroom was off the track and needed to be rehung. Sent images to Mark Sley and did not get a reply while I was there. (AGAIN, PHOTOS WERE TAKEN) April 24, 2021- Mark Sley came to the house himself to see the work that was completed and the damages which were incurred. He, himself, tried to get the paint out of the window treatments and made it worse. He acknowledged that the paint couldn't come out and stated that he would go to a company that sold blinds and see if he could find replacement parts for the blinds which were broken. May 10th, I was told the painter would come out to see about finishing the painting and Mark Sley stated that he would try parts on the blinds. June 7th- Mark Sley texted me to see when he could expect a final payment! He had never let me know that the painting had been completed or the blinds fixed. (THEY WERE NEVER FIXED, THE ITEMS RUINED NEVER REPLACED AND OTHER ITEMS BROKEN NEVER REPLACED) At this time, I let him know that the bedspreads, covers and blinds that needed to be replaced far exceeded the cost of what was left on the incomplete contract-not counting the new painter that I would have to have come in to complete the work. June18th, 2022- TRIAL DAY- He filed suit against me for not paying him!!, I countered and won-2" thick of pictures presented in court! PICTURES SAY EVERYTHING! February 2023- Judgement Lien Statement filed against Mark Sley and his company, Top Coat, LLC. He is not complying with the courts decision! It looks like the Sheriffs office will have to get involved. PLEASE DON'T GO THROUGH WHAT I WENT AND AM STILL GOING THROUGH!
