I recently applied for the Credit Manager position with Johnson Paint. The phone interview felt…read morephony and contrived. The woman who interview me seemed inexperienced and did not know how to properly conduct a professional interview . She barely went over my resume or qualifications for this positions! I felt my time was wasted. Then 7 days later, they (Johnson Paint) sent my a "canned" , cold automated duplicitous email, lying about moving forward with another candidate?! But when I went directly to their careers page on their corporate website, I noticed that the "Credit Manager" position was never filled! Mind you there was only one open position for this job! They lied to me , just to get rid of me and to deter me from applying for any other open requisitions with the Johnson Paint company! In retrospect, after reviewing several disgruntled customer experiences reviewed here on yelp.com, I'm glad employment with Johnson Paint did not come to fruition!

I also decided to paint the legs of my butcher block cart. She helped choosing that color as well and it was perfect. Evan gave me lots of pointers on how to go about painting it like painting from the bottom up and I totally understand now why that has to be. He recommended a type of paint that is tougher than usual but still latex, which brush to use and told me I didn't need to sand which was a relief. The SW Iphone app recommended a beige and gray to go with it so I wanted to see how those colors looked in person and figure out whether I wanted to go with neutrals or an analogous color scheme with a yellow-green and green-blue. An employee greeted me immediately as I walked in the door and came over right away to help. I was the only customer in the store and had a lot of questions. He was very patient and pulled some brochures featuring greens and color strips that he thought would work. The Iphone app's beige had more yellow undertones which I didn't like so I'm glad he suggested a more neutral beige. He also had suggestions on how best to test out the colors before committing to a full paint job. As we talked, I learned he was from the Southwestern US so that explained the atypical New England personality. It's so rare that I walk into a store in New England and real customer service.

The other guys that work there are your typical guys - service is adequate and a few of the criticisms that other reviewers left I can see a potential basis for. Meaning I get their point. They don't seem to be charmers by any means and if you're not assertive, I can visualize them getting lost in a conversation about a supermodel while a line backs up at the register (not that paint stores get many backups). Overall Benjamin Moore paint is excellent and my painters applied it beautifully to our house. People that walk by really like the colors and a recent unsolicited offer for my house based on the curb appeal (they didn't see the inside) is another testament to the look of a well done Benjamin Moore paint job. Go to Home Depot and show the guy behing the paint counter a swatch of your granite countertop and ask him what color he would recommend considering you have cherry cabinetry. Then, when he's done laughing at you, go to Waters & Brown and show your granite swatch to Sam and Lauren (I think her name is.) That's what I did and they immediately both thought of the same color, Quahog. So much darker than I ever wanted to go but wow, just the right color. Then Sam suggested Oxygen (a pale blue) for the ceiling and a color called America's Cup for the trim. The America's Cup (an off white) threw my husband into fits of worry. Will it be too yellow? Will it look dirty and dingy? Sam, promised it wouldn't and explained why . . . and he was right. So right, that my husband went back and asked him what color we should paint the adjoining hall, Sam made a recommendation and my husband walked out with that color paint. This is the same husband who would gladly spend months deliberating every decision, no matter how minute!!! So it is no exaggeration when I say that Sam may have single-handedly saved my marriage, or perhaps my husband's life because I was ready to either kill or divorce him. So as we decorate our entire home over, all I can say is thank God for Waters and Brown, and thank God for Sam!!!!
