Everything went well. I've had 3 separate surgeries for eyes, nose, face and neck and my recovery was seamless. The office always made themselves available and I look totally natural. Dr. Aston is a doctor first and foremost and won't do a procedure unless he feels it's needed. (He's advised me against a few procedures I didn't need, etc) He is also an extremely humble southern gentleman. I've known other "Top PS" to be very arrogant and less kind but Dr. Aston just cares about making the patient happy. He has for me and many other clients I know. DR. ASTON IS A BUTCHER AND A DISGRACE TO PLASTIC SURGEONS EVERYWHERE. PLEASE I BEG YOU TO GO TO ANY OTHER DOCTOR. If my review helps just one person choose a different doctor, I will feel somewhat vindicated. I am a girl in my early 20s who was looking to get cheek implant to enhance my natural beauty. I was getting a lot of injections in my cheeks and was looking for a more permanent solution. INSTEAD I was butchered. Dr. Sherrell Aston performs a cheek augmentation that left me disfigured. I couldn't smile at all or even lift the corners of my mouth. My implants were so big and misplaced, and left my cheeks hanging low and my face looking wide and abnormal. I had a beautiful smile before and after my implants I couldn't even see my own teeth because how the big the implants were. I reached out to two other surgeons for consultations, one in San Francisco and the other in Richmond, and both agreed Dr. Aston's work was shoddy. AND YET Dr. Aston blamed ME initially for his incompetence, claiming my lip and prior use of cheek filler caused the damage (which is utter nonsense as I had been getting dermal fillers for years prior to the implants). My cheek implants were THANK GOD removed 7 months later or so, but I am still having issues smiling and my face is still puffy and low, leading me to believe I may have permanent muscle and nerve damage. I am disgusted with everyone on the staff. His patient coordinator Debi KNEW that Dr. Aston botched my surgery yet getting a hold of anyone in the office proved a huge hassle. I am just praying to God that in the next very months I regain some feeling and movement back in my face now that the implants are out and my face returns to it's pre op state. I became Dr Astons patient as a teenager and then returned as a middle aged man. His staff makes you feel important and Dr Aston is not only the best Plastic Surgeon in New York, but, he is a kind humble gentle man. As a man I was very concerned about having a facelift, but, knew it was something I wanted to do. His work was perfect and subtle and I walk around not looking "done" There are two other very impressive Plastic Surgeons in New York. I have seen their work and it is easy to spot. Dr. Aston disfigured my daughters body. She had a fatty tumor that needed to be removed from her thigh. He suggested that she also have her stomach done while she was under anesthetic. Her hips were displaced, one two inches higher than the other. Her stomach was uneven with bumps all over. She had to have many more procedures with a wonderfully patient surgeon in L.A. Who spent hours trying to fill the areas and balance her hips. They said she was butchered. read more

I typically don't write reviews but with Dr. Aston I feel extremely inspired to do so. However, as I begin writing, I realize there aren't enough words of praise to describe this extraordinary doctor. I only hope I can convey a strong message to you regarding him. So, please keep in mind as you read my review....these adjectives cannot even come close to the magnitude of Dr. Aston's brilliance, compassion, and expertise. He is truly a gift from our Creator for those of us who are asking for a "Do Over", or a "Fix Me Upper". He is a doctor with a gorgeous soul who truly expresses such unique care and attention to detail. As he walks through the hospital, he lights up each room with his presence and energy. In fact, every medical professional, I met had to express such a strong admiration and respect for him. I am in the Fashion Industry and Dr. Aston's name is as important and vital as it is for each of us to drink water daily. He is our "go to doctor" helping us connect to the fountain of youth. Being a 56 year old widow, I definitely needed a "pick me up". At the age of 30, I had my nose fixed by another doctor in NYC. Quite honestly, the results were less than mediocre in every way. So, Dr. Aston had an even more difficult assignment with me...not only did he need to repair my nose but also correct another doctor's mistake. I also asked Dr. Aston about a face-lift. He told me that I can wait for now regarding this procedure and he will advise me when it is appropriate to do so. He actually encouraged me to wait...Can you believe? I experienced fear with just the thought of going back out there in the singles scene...especially, knowing that most men prefer much younger women. So, Dr. Aston and I discussed what he could do to provide the "perk" and confidence I was seeking. I made an appointment with Dr. Aston. He charged me $200 for the consultation, which was unusual for a plastic surgeon... He kept me waiting for an hour and a half and never even apologized for his tardiness. When he finally did arrive, all he did was brag about himself and how great he was. I asked him about a certain procedure, which he said did would not work. I later had the procedure done by another doctor and was extremely satisfied. I can't understand how, two years ago, he was on Castle Connolly as one of the best doctors. He is no longer on their site - I guess they finally got his number... Be careful - he's more of a snake salesman than a doctor. read more

Terrible doctor, and of very poor character. Shame on him. Dr. Aston performed a very botched rhinoplasty on me when I was 17. My nose turned out crooked and very collapsed on one side to the point where I couldn't breathe. It also had an overall unnatural appearance due to an "open-roof deformity" caused by the surgeon overly resecting the bridge and not realigning the bones properly. Valve collapses and open-roofs such as this are apparently common mistakes made by bad and/or inexperienced surgeons. Except that Dr. Aston had many years of experience and was somehow on the list of top plastic surgeons, so I didn't exactly expect those types of problems. I returned and he denied that there was any problem and kind of blamed my anatomy, saying that some people are just asymmetrical, even though it was not like that pre-surgery. I was young and naively trusted him given his reputation, and I just lived uncomfortably for a few years. I returned for another office visit, and he again denied that there was any problem. He claimed that my inferior turbinate (inner structure deep in nasal passage) was enlarged on that side and said it would help if he removed it. Again, I was naive and made the mistake to trust him. Not only was there no improvement after that surgery, but I started having chronic congestion and infections, which I at first thought were due to allergies or environmental issues of some sort. I never connected these problems to the surgery until I finally saw an ENT, and he put the pieces of the puzzle together. It turns out that completely removing the turbinate, as Aston did, is actually considered MALPRACTICE, as my ENT and a second doctor (both actually double boarded as plastic surgeons AND ENTs) informed me. The breathing problem was clearly due to the valve collapse from Aston's initial surgery. And as he should have known, turbinates may occasionally be reduced in rare cases, but not since the 1950s has it been standard practice to remove the entire thing. Since then, it was well known that the turbinates play essential roles in proper airflow (google "empty nose syndrome" or talk to any ENT worth their salt). Anyway, I wound up permanently losing my sense of smell (which is what led me to see the ENT), most likely due to the chronic dryness and uneven airflow that results from turbinate removal, which sets the stage for chronic infections. Chronic infections can eventually lead to permanent damage to the olfactory epithelium located high up in the nasal cavity, and this is what mostly likely happened in my case according to my doctors. I eventually had a revision rhinoplasty done, but I first went back to Aston to ask if he would contribute to the cost of the revision since he clearly botched things so badly, not once but twice. I knew it was a long shot, but he at least deserved to be confronted, now that this was finally all clarified by the other doctors. He first had the nerve, or genuine ignorance (some of both I think) to flat out deny each and all of the problems that my doctors had spelled out. By the time I left, for some reason, perhaps to seem reasonable in front of his assistant who was in the room or to his colleagues who would hear about it, he agreed to consider paying and said he'd speak with the surgeon who would be doing the revision and get back to me. It was hard to tell whether Dr. Aston either truly did not know that you're not supposed to remove the turbinate, OR if he was just blatantly lying. Either way, extremely unimpressive. The surgeon who did the revision mentioned to me that he had a similar experience when he spoke with Aston about this. Giving him the "benefit of the doubt," even if he removed the turbinate out of genuine ignorance, there is absolutely no way he didn't see the obvious aesthetic problems. He still chose to simply deny everything, despite the open-roof and collapsed side being so plainly visible. It was ridiculous, and he knew it. Adding insult to injury, he ignored all attempts to get an answer about covering the revision cost, even after I sent him a copy of the surgery report, which detailed that the problems corrected were clearly caused by the original surgery. Long story, but he had reliable assurance that I wasn't suing him, so there were no valid reasons from a legal standpoint for not acknowledging responsibility. Purely an ego issue. Dr. Aston did an outdated and harmful surgery either out of ignorance or as an attempt to cover up his initial screw-up, failed to take any responsibility for either, and lied repeatedly. Completely unacceptable, as a physician and as a human being. read more

My first experience with Dr. Ashton was in 1998, when i was im my mid 40's . Dr. Ashton performed two separate procedures on me, including my upper and lower eyelids....Everything about the experience was more than i could ever have hoped for. The results were better than I imagined...he is a true artist, his work is precise and natural. There was hardly any swelling, bruising or pain. (and I bruise very easily, so he must have butterfly fingers). I was out and about, looking good and feeling no pain 4 days after the surgery. The only negative aspect of the entire process was how i felt from the anestesia....vomiting for hours. But i dont tolerate any medication well and cant even take painkillers. So it did not deter me from returning to Dr. Ashton a few years later for a bit of liposuction. Again, everything went better than expected. His work is flawless. This time he arranged for me to speak at length with the anestesiologist, and I awoke with no nausea...yay.. Fast forward 10 years, give or take, and I will once again visit Dr. Ashton, and have him work his magic...My surgery is scheduled for Jan. 2016. I am very excited and will post the result, which im sure will be amazing. read more

Absolutely terrible doctor, but totally full of himself. Most cares for society people. He asked me if I am singer. I answered that I am not a singer. Thus I didn't get an appropriate treatment. It was an intern in operating room before the surgery. Why there would be the intern in the operating room? I didn't sign a permission for an intern to practice surgery on me. And what right does Dr. Aston have to allow this happened? As a result the bridge of my nose was broken on pieces and border lines where bones are reconnected are transparent through the skin - awful look and terrifying impressions. Two spots on my nose display noticeable cartilage deformity which is totally asymmetrical. The doctor and his intern has pulled away cartilage from my nasal bones which resulted in collapse of internal valves which in turn worsen already impaired breathing process. The doctor's respond to my complain was, "It is a revision surgery. You had a problem before". I thought we go to the doctors to receive help with a problem - not to gain more problems! read more

After leaving the recovery room, I was taken care of by two private duty nurses for the next 24 hours who were extremely caring and professional. Would was truly amazing to me and my husband is that there was not a bruise on my face and I was walking around immediately. The results were exceptional and as always I was delighted with the personal care I receive during and after my procedure by Dr. Aston. Dr. Aston continues to have the artistic and surgical skills that makes his age enhancing surgery the best in the world. He takes pride in his work and truly loves being a surgeon.
