I had a primary septorhinoplasty performed 18 months ago and have nothing but great things to say about the entire experience. Before I consulted with Dr Rizk, I had consulted with another "high profile" (aka incredible PR machine) NY surgeon, which was honestly one of the most awful medical appointments I've ever had and I left feeling incredibly deflated due to his outrageously rude manner. The experience consulting with Dr Rizk was like night and day, as I found him to be very kind, considerate, calm and confident in how he suggested to approach the surgery and the outcome I could expect. Dr. Rizk is an absolute master of his craft. I saw him to resolve a facial asymmetry that bothered me for years, (a noticeably lower right brow and fully hooded right eyelid). To restore balance, Dr. Rizk performed an endoscopic brow lift on my right side and upper blepharoplasty on both eyelids. I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER WITH THE RESULTS. This review is long overdue. I had mixed emotions about writing this however after much consideration I made the decision to proceed, as my experience could help others who are contemplating this procedure with this physician. I had a consultation with Dr. Rizk for an ethnic rhinoplasty in December of 2018, and my ask was to have a more contoured nose to include the bridge, nostrils and tip. He said that he had experience doing ethnic rhinoplasty's and as an example, asked one of his staff to model her nose. I must admit, her results were impressive. I decided to move forward, paid approximately $17k and had the surgery. I returned to the office for a post op visit after 10 days, (to early to declare success) had the cast removed and I was more than pleased with the results. Fast forward a few weeks and my nose began to take more of its true shape. I was very happy with the bridge of my nose however the tip was still very large, my left nostril was even more asymmetric than before the surgery, as well as elongated. I forwarded a photo to Dr. Rizk and he asked me to make an appointment. He stated, "I will make sure you heal perfectly." As scheduled, I went in for the appt., he offered to do a revision to my left nostril, which I appreciated however he would not touch the tip as he didn't want to remove anything, as there would be nothing to hold it up. I wasn't at all happy about that however this was my first rhinoplasty and he is considered the expert, so I agreed. After the left nostril revision, I went in for a visit and told him that now the left nostril passage is smaller than the other side and my nostril was still elongated with very little symmetry. He noticed it and offered to put permanent filler in, which he did, however to no avail. At that point, he not only appeared to be defeated but also agitated. I proceeded to tell him how dissatisfied I was and that my job required me to be client-facing. His response was, "Maybe you can hold your head downward." In conclusion, my nostrils are still asymmetric, and the tip is extremely large. I have attempted to make other appointments with his office to fix this however I concluded that it was best for me to find a Dr. that is proficient in ethnic rhinoplasty. Fortunately, I have the self-confidence and makeup skills required to conceal and cope with this debacle and still carry on with my life. The moral of this story....your credentials will always look good on paper (education, certifications, celebrity clients, etc.) however please keep in mind that you are impacting a life. If you are not an expert in your client's specific procedure, act with prudence and refer them to a qualified physician. read more

I had a nose job and added a brow lift at the same time here. I chose him because he had a few beautiful results with the nose job. And my nose actually looks great, and I'm very happy with it. My problem is that their communication was great until I expressed disappointment with the brow lift - a typical brow lift according to Google costs between $2k-$5k. They charged me $15k to add it to my nose surgery, telling me it was a discount of $5k. I knew it was overpriced and added it anyway, which is on me, however I did it expecting that I was paying for the best. Unfortunately I got a large scar in the middle of my forehead is quite wide and there's a visible bald patch. On top of it, can't even tell that I had a brow lift, they look the same as before. One of the scars had a scab that revealed a bit of an infection, and when I wrote them to ask what to do and carefully described my disappointment in the results as I liked them so much I was uncomfortable to say I wasn't satisfied with the one procedure (and sent them a picture of the large infected scar) - that while I love my nose I feel like I paid 3x+ the top end price for a brow lift and mostly just ended up with a bald patch, I didn't get a response. Ironically I liked them so much and the job they did with my nose that I wouldn't even be leaving them this review except that they never replied to anything since that email. They never replied with helpful advice about what to do about the infection or anything to say about my disappointment, and have ignored 3 subsequent emails asking for completely benign unrelated info (eg just forms for tax purposes). I think this is massively unprofessional and insulting from a company I paid almost $50k usd to. I just wanted the best, and even if they didn't get the intended result the least they could have done was be courteous and acknowledged my concerns. Bad form. read more

Dr. Rizk should not be allowed to practice medicine as his actions show he is unethical, and that's putting it mildly. For those who are unaware he has another site called rhinoplastyonline. My experience made sense of the massive amounts of negative reviews written about him all over the internet. Bottom line: Dr. Rizk tells patients things that are blatant lies, I've been able to spot some of them on reviews, as he's said several of the same things to me. He knows that patients don't know anything about the surgery, he can lie about anything related to the procedure and get away with it. I confirmed that numerous things he told me were bold-faced lies. He performed my surgery in a way he knew was grossly negligent, and made the conscious decision to do it anyway, making the harm he caused me intentional. Not even an amateur would have left it in such condition. He decreases the length of what would otherwise be time-consuming surgery, enabling him to complete more procedures in less time, in order to make bigger profits. It's likely that people with an unsuccessful surgery will chalk it up to it just being a "difficult" surgery, as revisions are known to be. They will not know why their surgery didn't work out and would not know if it was his negligence that made it so. That is why he does whatever he wants without worry of consequences. He preys on the ignorance of his patients all in the name of greater profits. Several of the awards appearing on his sites are actually completely meaningless, unverifiable or have a completely different meaning than how it is presented. So don't be impressed by them without first doing your own research on each one. One example...while he had a profile in RealSelf he is not a RealSelf Verified Doctor, therefore his presence on their site has no real meaning. The "Top Doctor" badge he has on his site is not actually a top doctor related award at all. It was something RealSelf issued to doctors just for participating on their site. Then shouldn't it say something more accurate like "For Participation" so it wouldn't be misleading to patients? They couldn't even confirm whether he was ever issued it. Another award badge on Dr. Rizk's site was for "Top Contributor," but RealSelf could not verify if they ever issued it to him. Awards like these that are completely unverifiable, simply do not have credibility. Lawsuits and bad reviews don't seem to be a deterrent for him, as he has had his fair share of both. Here is the complaint I had filed with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) on June 20, 2022: "I had paid Dr. Rizk $15,000 with the understanding that he was an expert in revision rhinoplasty/reconstructive surgery, and he led me to believe he would address the issues we spoke about in surgery. I had the first surgery in 2016 but he addressed only a fraction of the issues we spoke about and made a couple of issues worse. Back then, I thought the issues that had been unaddressed were left there because they were not fixable, or I assumed they would have been. I went back to him in 2020 to address one particular issue that he made considerably worse by not addressing it at all, it was so unsightly even coworkers would ask me what happened. He said he needed one hour to fix it. He again took shortcuts in the surgery and ended up making it substantially worse because of sheer negligence. I went to a different doctor to evaluate my issues and he did surgery to correct it, as soon as it was medically acceptable, which was in Nov. 2021. This is when I learned the full extent of the condition Dr. Rizk had left it in. The surgery took many hours, and my doctor had found the nose to be unsafe with part of my septum completely detached, and significant cartilage deficiencies in many places. There was also absolutely no trace of Alloderm (or any fascia) to disguise my thin skin; Alloderm is what Dr.Rizk had said he used in my surgery, but in fact he had not. That had explained why I was able to tell so easily where the grafts were, without any effort. In addition, all those issues Dr. Rizk hadn't addressed that I assumed weren't fixable, were in fact fixable as the doctor I saw proved when he corrected them. Dr. Rizk left my nose in complete disarray and in unsafe condition due to negligence, when he is supposedly an expert in the field. He misled & deceived me about what he was going to do. I also caught him in several lies in the process. All are considered fraud. His conduct and the state in which he left my nose is unacceptable, I am seeking a full refund." I have done a nose job 2014 with Dr Rizk, it cost me $ 16000 and not happy with a shape of my nose there is a little change from a natural shape was not as i was told from the picture on his computer, i had bleeding for a couple of month until i had to burn some little veins which helped me a little bit. What bothers the most is that I can ' t sleep without saline spray because both nostrils gets blocked can t breath through nose. I had rhinoplasty by dr. rizk in 2011. He used cartilage from my ear to shape my tip. I was very underwhelmed by my results and when I pointed out the asymmetry of my nostrils and how unnaturally pointy my tip was after, he told me that was the way it was before surgery and brushed me off. I made it very clear that I was unhappy with the outcome but he was not interested in hearing it. Not having money to put into correcting this, and there was no way that I was going to give dr. rizk a second chance to make it worse (not that he even offered), I decided to live with it and have forever been self conscious. I do not allow pictures of myself to be taken and hate looking in the mirror. The worst part is that my nose has gotten progressively worse over the past 7 years. My daughter decided to have rhinoplasty this year and I accompanied her to several consults. We were determined for her not to have the same poor outcome as I did so we made sure to point out the concerns that I have with my nose. The comments from the plastic surgeons that I have gotten have made me feel even worse as they have pointed out all the preventible things that were done wrong. Two of the doctors asked me who did my nose and both had very concerning reactions when I told them that it was dr. rizk. One simply said, after kindly telling me that I had a terrible nose job, "Sam did that!?!??", as if completely shocked and then refused to speak further on the matter. Awful awful doctor. Do not waste your money. He ruined my nose. I looked online at all of his paid advertising and publicity and thought he was the best doctor in NYC. I got my first rhinoplasty done by him, which looked great for around a month. Not only did he leave a random metal object in my nose that was later found by my next surgeon, but he did not even take an after picture of my nose. After a month or two, the tip of my nose completely fell. I went in to tell him I was unhappy with it and he said it looked great and did not droop. The tip was almost to my lip. This man is like a factory. He operates on so many patients a day and walks in and out of surgeries. He was so quick on my surgery that he left that object in my nose that was found one year later in my revision rhinoplasty with a different surgeon since Dr. Rizk would not fix it. I had to go to a 5th ave plastic surgeon who charged way more and the tip of my nose continues to fall because of whatever Dr. Rizk did to botch it and cause tremendous scar tissue. My second surgeon is a great surgeon, he operates and fixes the nose at no cost when the tip falls and is truly knowledgable. Dr. Rizk also was supposed to fix my "deviated septum" and "enlarged turbinates". If anything my breathing was worse after the surgery. Don't be scammed by his good publicists and don't spend close to $50,000 on your nose by going to him and then needing a revision rhinoplasty by another surgeon. Stay out of this factory. read more

After considering a rhinoplasty for about 15 years I finally chose to go through with it with Dr. Rizk. I am only a little over a week out of surgery and I can't be more happy with the results so far. I still have some swelling, but the bruising is minimal and the result is better than I could have expected. I was also impressed with the level of pain involved with the procedure (or lac of rather). I needed nothing for pain control except 2 tylenol doses for the sore throat from anesthesia. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Rizk or his staff. I found them all to be lovely, sympathetic, helpful, etc. I hope I will never need his services again, but if I ever do I wouldn't hesitate to chose him for the job. I thought the price was well worth the piece of mind knowing that I wouldn't find myself in another plastic surgeons chair within a couple of years to do it all over again. This guy is the absolute worst, I had a rhinoplasty with him in 2012 and it was a huge mistake. All he cares about is ripping his patients off, he is so overpriced and overrated and I feel like all the good reviews are written by his staff. During the consultations I addressed my concerns and what I wanted to get done, he agreed but during the surgery most of them were not performed. I was charged 15000$ for this nonsense. My septum was left deviated, he never fixed it, he never narrowed the tip of my nose just slightly narrowed the bridge. When I saw the result I was so greatly disappointed, the difference in BEFORE and AFTER was so insignificant, there was absolutely no point in going through the surgery. I did feel like I was ripped off. With all the negative reviews about him and dissatisfied patients, my question is how is he still practicing and still has his license. Him and I shared the same vision for what my nose should look like. I found everyone in his office to be so kind and thorough. I was amazed by how little bruising and swelling I had afterwards. The healing process was about as good as it gets. After a year, it seemed I had a substantial amount of scar tissue which added size to areas we had slimmed. Dr. Rizk is a great surgeon and to top it off he has a great personality, great bedside manners. The entire staff is very nice and friendly. My review is over due...I had Ethnic Rhinoplasty with Dr.Rizk. Before finding Dr.Rizk I did extensive research to find a doctor that specializes in African American rhinoplasty and also I had some breathing issues. There aren't a lot of double board certified plastic surgeons that specializes in thick skin ethnic rhinoplasty. After I met with Dr.Rizk for consultation I knew he was the surgeon for me. His manager Dila was so helpful and informative with helping me throughout the entire process with planning for my surgery. The nurse Tatyana and Jola were both amazing and so caring. The anesthesiologists was great and made me feel very comfortable with general anesthesia as I was a little nervous. After 7 days I came back to have the cast removed...I was in love with my new nose although Dr.Rizk did say it was still swollen. As every month passes I see a change in my new nose and I am so Happy. I know that Dr.Rizk May be a bit pricey but keep in mind it's a lifetime investment. I have no regrets and I am so happy With my decision....This is a surgery I knew I wanted for a very long time And I wanted to get it right the first time around. Dr. Rizk performed what I guess you can call a major face lift on me perhaps 8 years ago. His work is stellar. No one including my immediate family knew or knows I had work done. I did receive comments like you look terrific etc. Eight years later people are amazed when I tell them my age. (OK, not amazed. How 'bout surprised?) So the work was terrific. Last year I got the Fractionated CO2 Laser resurfacing. It went smoothly and I got great results. Dr. Rizk is very good but also quite expensive. I don't remember what the face lift cost but the laser treatment was $3000 for him $800 for the anesthesiologist plus $1000 for the facility-which is in his office. As for Dr. Rizk himself he is nice-not overly friendly but certainly not disrespectful or rude in any way. I think he is just slightly quirky. People come from overseas for his expertise. Having thought about doing rhinoplasty (plastic surgery for my nose) for many years and the fact that Im in the fashion/beauty industry I finally began my journey finding and obtaining information about many doctors in NYC. I got many referrals from various resources and finally decided on interviewing three different reputable plastic surgeons. I will say that some places could take me right away and I had to wait to get an appointment with Dr. Rizk ... but hey you know what they say the best things are worth waiting on, after all I had my nose for a couple of decades and waiting was not going to make a big difference to me. I liked what Dr Rizk had to say about what he recommended for my face and what would look most naturally I also liked the manner in which he spoke to me. Dila, the office manger was helpful, friendly and accommodating, the nurse Tatiana who is lovely made me feel very relaxed and so I booked my appointment! I got it done two weeks ago and when I had the cast removed I had no bruising at all. Dila got so excited for me as did Dr Rizk and his team, I actually cried with happiness as I couldn't believe how beautiful the results were. Pain was minimal it felt more like I had a cold rather than surgery and I only needed to use extra strength tylenol. End result is that I look like a better vision of myself and no one even knows I had it done! I have a folllow up appointment in March and Dr Rizk said it would look better as each month goes by. Would NOT Recommend. This main problem with Dr. Rizk is that he has his own vision and does not consider the aesthetic taste of his patient. At least he did not with me! I wasted my time and money choosing him as my doctor. I am not a very picky individual but when it comes to a 20 grand surgery and you make no difference from what was there before, its begs the question....I would say he may be good if you have an accident and have a deformity on your face...But if you are looking for a good plastic surgeon for revision rhinoplasty, do not choose him. I wanted a subtle change and he made no change at all. I wasted my time. Five min before the surgery he changed our original game-plan. He brought up things we had never discussed (narrowing my nose!) and indicated that he could no longer bring the bridge of my nose back in any observable way. At this point, I was sitting in the chair and had already paid. I really should have been smarter and walked out, but I was already excited for the plan we had originally discussed. Dr. Rizk has this false pretense that he is the best doctor for rhinoplasty. He contended to me "No one can do what I do"....Funny, because he didn't a damn thing. So the decision to have surgery was not only a hard one to come to but a scary one once I decided to do it. I had consultations with a few other doctors but ultimately chose Dr. Rizk because he put me at ease and understood my nervousness. He was compassionate and explained everything that would happen. His compassion was ever more evident on the day of my surgery when my nerves really showed. He calmed me down and assured me he would do everything in his power to make me happy with the results. After my full recovery when I could really see my results I have to say Dr. Rizk more than kept his promise. I had rhinoplasty done by Dr. Rizk two years ago and my nose looks worse. Everyone tells me that my nose looked better before the surgery and I was able to see that as soon as the cast was taken of my nose. Don't believe his Before and After photos. It is all a Trick. Very horrible results. I am still upset about my nose 3 years later. I have to get my nose redone again by someone who knows what symmetry is. There is still a big visible bump on one side and a little bump right in the middle, it looks like a zit all of the time. If you are going to Manhattan for plastic surgery, you can do much much much better. read more

I was recommended by a co-worker to see Dr Rizk. I broke my nose in college and have a bump that I want taken care of. He was very professional and his results really looking amazing! He spent a lot of time with me and his office manager Dila was really nice. I had the surgery 3 weeks ago and the second the cast came off I could see how great my nose was going to look. It is still swollen but the bridge is straight and the tip looks natural. I am so happy and my nose looks like it did before it was broken and even better. read more
