I had a lower blepharoplasty recently and am very happy with the results. My face has changed for the better: my eyes are noticeably bright. Dr. Swift and his staff are good people. I still cannot believe that I got botched with Botox, by a Park Avenue plastic surgeon. I should've known that the Groupon had a catch. I got a Groupon almost two weeks ago for 40 units of Botox with Dr. Swift. I checked all his reviews and he seemed like he was a well reputable surgeon, I questioned why he had to go on Groupon, but I thought he just needed some quick cash and it all made sense. I made the appointment for the next day, Tuesday, because I was traveling on Wednesday and I didn't want to worry about my expression lines for my trip pictures. Everything was alright, I got a bit surprised when he said that if I wanted Botox on the sides of my mouth to avoid the corners curving down I needed to buy 10 more units at regular price ($150), 5 on each side. I showed him a video of what I wanted to achieve and paid for the extra Botox. I figured that the Groupon was a good price already, so it was fair to pay a bit more for this other area, even though I was sure those 40 units could very well be distributed between my forehead and my mouth sides. I went on my trip and 3 days into it I started noticing I was having difficulties at smiling, then I was having difficulties talking and even eating. My chin was totally frozen. I felt like an idiot murmuring because I couldn't articulate the words properly. I sent a message to the Dr and the assistant called me, very presumptuous of her to call while I was in Africa. I told her I was away, and I will communicate when I was back home. Things only got worse from there, my smile got totally deformed, I had way more expression lines around the mouth than before, I had orange peel like on my chin and still I was having difficulties speaking properly. The next day I came back to NYC I went to visit my friend's injector Dr. Todd, top 10 injector in the country. He explained to me that the Botox was wrongly placed and that there was nothing to be done but to wait, I could tell he was feeling bad for me, he spent an unusual amount of time trying to make it better for me, he also told me that they only place 2-3 units in each side, not 5! Needless to say that all my amazing trip to Africa pictures are spoiled, the same way than my Holiday season full of events. I don't know how Dr. Swift is as Plastic Surgeon, now I think he got that Groupon to practice his Botox skills, I feel like a guinea pig. I've thought about having liposuction on my legs for years and have procrastinated for many reasons. I had met with another surgeon prior to meeting with Dr. Swift and I just didn't feel "so sure" about having my treatment done with her, but truthfully, I didn't understand why I felt that way about her until I had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Swift. I went to doctor swift for a consultation about a breast aug. he walked in the room with a "I'm better than you" scowel on his face, that remained there for the entirety of the appointment. He looked at my issues for all of 1 min and then left the room for me to get dressed, without explaining what would need to be done to get the results I want. He came back with a BMI chart wheel in hand, and in the rudest, coldest way told me that he, and no other surgeon would do the surgery on me because I'm overweight . He did not even weigh me, an had the attitude of someone who doesn't need to deal with people in their career, but, he is a doctor that's exactly what he's supposed to do. I left in tears not only because he said he wouldn't do it unless I lost 20 pounds, and couldn't get me out of the office fast enough. He may as well have said don't let the door hit you on your way out. AND JUST when I thought I couldn't be more insulted, he told me to go get a job and help people it would make me feel better when I said I was in between jobs. How dare he. By all means, I could use lose weight which I have been doing since my permanent plastic surgeon gave me hope about getting the results I want. , who doesn't? That wasn't the problem, the problem was with his horrible attitude. I'm happy that he was only my first opinion, because he shouldn't be talking for all plastic surgeons about no board certified surgeon would do my surgery unless I am under a certain weight based on a paper wheel scale that anyone can get for free, he didn't do doctoring in that way , he did not tell me what went wrong with my implants, wouldn't tell me what he could do to fix it, and he wasn't even correct about my fat placement-it was extra skin- I know this because since then I've had 3 more opinions, all better and more willing to help me and actually told me what would need to be done. I guess he is the only plastic surgeon in NY to only work on people of the perfect weight and body type to start off with. Thst is the whole END goal of cosmetic surgery, , not the beginning. Furthermore I am self conscious about my body already and even had trouble getting undressed in front of him or any one else- he made me even more so by calling me obese ( which he would know I'm not if he had bothered to weigh me) and told me to call back when I lose 20 pounds. His exact worlds. I left crying and hopeless. This is all because when it comes down to it, he just isn't a good enough surgeon to handle non textbook cases according to every other surgeon, even newer to the field than him. Explaining why I got the appointment so soon, and why the waiting room was completely empty. Why the phone didn't ring at all, And why he gave no information as to where to find pics of his results on patients. He also told me I should get out there and find a job when I told him I was in between jobs and wanted it to be done before I go back to work. Update on my previous review re: my bad botox experience and the Dr.'s overuse of juvaderm on areas I didn't want -- it has now been approximately 2 months since I paid for 3 syringes of juvaderm and radiesse (along with Botox which did nothing) which was supposed to be injected into my nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Instead one syringe was used to enhance my cheeks although I specifically told the doctor I DID NOT want this. As of this writing whatever he injected in my nasolabial folds is gone - after less than 2 month and yet, I was told it would last months longer. So, I spent thousands of dollars for fillers and got almost nothing in return. Save your money and don't waste your time. Go to someone who knows what they're doing! read more

I have seen Dr. Swift at least 5 times now. I have been extremely pleased with my results - every time! - but even more so, I am pleased with Dr. Swift's commitment to artistry and his attentiveness to my needs as a patient.. Not once have I felt rushed or that I was being pushed into buying something I did not need. I feel most comfortable with his approach of 'trying a little first, and more later if we want to'. I have had botox and fillers from Dr. Swift, and not once have I bruised -- to this I credit his expertise in how/where to inject but also to his use of very thin needles (I have heard - but have not verified - that not all doctors use these extremely thin needles, mainly because they are so much more expensive). Even though I consider myself a 'basics' girl and frugal shopper, each procedure I feel was worth it. Every time I walk out of his office feeling as though I look a little more refreshed and less tired - huge feats for someone who has spent a greater part of her adult life - prior to seeing Dr. Swift -- being asked if she has had enought sleep! I also feel his pricing is very fair. In general I try to remain aware of the cost of these procedures -- and yes, I have been tempted by sales from Lifebooker & whatnot to go elsewhere -- but at the end of the day, my logic takes over. Dr. Swift knows my face and I have not had even one negative experience -- to me, this alone is worth ALOT. It is also my experience that Dr. Swift has been flexible & willing to work with my budget within reason. Listen, I am not a supermodel - nor do I expect to ever look like one - -but the results I have had with Dr. Swift have helped me feel as though I can look as pretty on the outside as I feel on the inside. I have a more prominent nose, and who knew that adding filler to my chin and jaw area appears to help balance that out? Unless I moved to the other side of the world, I serioudly would not consider seeing another doctor to perform any fillers on me.
