STAY AWAY!! Although he was very responsive, he's a creep and unprofessional. We needed our a/c unit fixed and was quoted a fair price but because I didn't give him an answer the second that he quoted me without talking to my husband first, he said no deal and that he wasted his time. He fought back when I asked him for a written quote. I wasted most of my day waiting for him to show up because he rescheduled 3 times. Longer review version: I woke up the other day, the COLDEST day of the year so far, to find that the furnace was not working. Of course it breaks down on the coldest day! Anyway, I was trying to remember the name of the company that had installed it 12 years ago, and drew a blank. Then I remembered that I had seen a Sherlock Homes truck in the neighborhood, and that his company is based in the area. So I went to the review page for Sherlock Homes Heating/AC and I was impressed, 5 stars overall. I read through and every one was very happy with their work - well, almost everyone. There were a couple of people who thought he was the worst person in the world, according to their reviews. It gave me pause, so I continued with his history, and it was 5 stars across the board. I put a lot of stock in online reviews, to me it's pretty much the only way to see if a service company is legitimate or not. Their history, except for 2 or 3 reviews during one period, were outstanding, so I decided to take a chance and called them. Mr Denardis, the owner, answered and when I outlined my problem, told me he'd be out within the hour. That cheered me up, as my house was getting increasingly colder. He made it out within the hour and proceeded to work, and within 20 minutes had a diagnosis and a repair proposal that I found reasonable, and I asked him to go ahead with the repairs. Within 2 hours he had my system fixed and also completely inspected and the bottom line for repair and overall system inspection was less than it costs me to get a plumber to knock on my front door, much less fix anything. The furnace is now working great, and I'm very happy with Mr. Denardis' work. I will not hesitate to use his company in the future. On a side note, Mr. Denardis is friendly and personable, and I guess some people were put off by that, to account for their critical review comments. If you want a reasonably priced furnace/AC repair by someone who takes his work seriously, but with a lighter touch in his customer dealings, I can recommend Sherlock Homes Heating/AC without hesitation! read more

I am very disappointed in the way this man treated my wife. 1st he changed the time to come over to our house twice, forcing my wife to wait around for 4 hours. Then he spent 1 minute looking at our evaporative coil and said it would be $2500 to replace. He told my wife that he needed an answer right now. She explained she would have to speak with me and requested a written quote. He said, "Do you know how many times I hear that. Thanks for wasting my time" This guy is a bully and unprofessional. We woke up to a freezing cold house this last Sunday morning. Yikes, with family coming in to town for Christmas Eve! After scrolling through YELP we decided to give Sherlock Homes a shot. Bryan answered these phone at 8:30am and was over at the house in less than an hour. After fully evaluating our system and thoroughly explaining the issue, Bryan gave us 3 options. One was simply to get the system up and running, and the other two were options he recommended for our system and for getting the best use out of our system. There was ZERO pressure regarding what option to choose. Bryan is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and thorough and we were highly impressed. Its been a few weeks now since Bryan at Sherlock Homes did a system service and a few minor repairs on my heating and cooling system. We had not been cooling in the main system very well. Bryan also found a couple of issues with the heater, which we had not needed yet in the year. The house immediately was cooler, like the next day it was NOTICEABLE. We needed the heater a few weeks later when the cold snap came through and the system was awesome. First, he didn't pull a permit. Then installed a larger unit, didn't put refrigerant in it. Called it in that it wasn't working and his staff missed the missing refrigerant. Finally his contractor noticed and added some, but unit still isn't working right. Texted him about it and received many bizarre excuses, including that he was too busy making his music during the day to service our install during regular business hours. He claimed we needed duct work so we agreed, yet weeks went by and it was excuses. Code caught on that he was doing work without a permit so we had to pause. He then lied and texted me an old concrete permit for my house saying it was his approved AC permit. Code had to come again. Called off ductwork and asked for money back after the crazy texts and excuses escalated, culminating in some accusations that I am an "Irene Adler" (whatever that means!). Unit still isn't working properly, our AC bill is up 70% with a NEW "more efficient" unit and we still don't know if it will pass inspection. Bryan won't talk to us, he sends his employees to clean up his mess while he sits in the van playing on an iPad. This whole experience has been so bizarre that I can't believe this is a real business. We must be getting scammed. read more

We recently purchased a home and found that the air conditioner was not cooling adequately. Our AC went out while completing our home repairs, which just added more stress to a stressful situation. Bryan was able to take care of us and get us a new system so that my family wasn't without AC for too long. We moved into a "fixer upper" with an old broken hvac system. We were told by the previous owners that the a/c was looked at by multiple companies and it needed to be replaced. As we were not in a position to do that, we were referred to this business. Bryan was able to find the hard to diagnose problem and offer repair options that got the system running and forestalled costly replacement. We are thrilled that we were able to get through two summers and the horrible freeze plus this past winter with minimal cost and it still runs! We bought our house a little over a year and a half ago. The AC has never been adequate when the weather was over 80 degrees. I had my AC maintenance completed before summer started last year and the AC tech told me that my system was inadequate and gave me a quote for $25K for a new HVAC system and spray foam insulation in the attic. I liked what I read about Brian investigating and truly trying to fix and maintain the current system in your home so I decided to set up and appointment. Bryan came out last Saturday for an AC investigation. Bryan did not disappoint. He thoroughly went through the whole home including the attic. He diagnosed the problem and worked tirelessly to get our AC working well even though our AC units are almost 20 years old. He had to make at least 25 trips from the AC units in our back yard to the attic above the second floor but he did not stop until everything was perfect.
