Every time I drive by to donate my clothing, nobody is outback. I've been there during the specified donation times only for them to be done for the day. I've tried calling them multiple times to see if they were taking items still only for them to not answer. When someone does pick up, they are very rude. I wish Thrift On Main didn't close otherwise I would be taking my things there. If you want to donate clothing and furniture, I highly recommend people go to Salvation Army off on 24400 US Highway N, Clearwater, FL. They make this place look like a joke. I recommend hiring nicer people and keeping your donation drop off open during the specified times. read more

This store keeps declining over the last 10 years I've been shopping and donating here. The quality of stuff is mostly 'very used' at best to just plain junky. The pricing changed with a particular manager and only skyrocketed from there! For instance, today there was a puppy play yard gate for $119. The sticker said "no discounts". I Googled and Amazon is selling brand new for $109 today. They want to resell as if they are a high-end retail store. Nothing "THRIFT" like about this store. The cause is great, but who wants to go and overpay - especially when money is so tight today! There's a better store at the Church just north of the plaza with true "thrift" prices on all the same type stuff. First, these thrift shops are funding for a great cause. Secondly, you never know what great bargins you will find here. I have a temporary upholstered chair in my living room I bought for $15! I've also found name brand Hawaiian shirts here for $8! AND if you are assessorizing your home with lighting, wall hangings, prints, etc., this store has a constant turnover in that specialty. They have items priced to go. Pickup services are avaiable by appointment. Since this is close to my house, I'm always dropping by to take a peek. read more

I've been going to the Sheriff 's Youth Ranch for the past 24 years in which I generally go 4 to 5 times a week. During those times I have discovered numerous discounted bargains which I could possibly have never found anywhere else. The management and staff are nicest people you'd ever encounter. I have loved shopping this store for years and combing for treasures. They have daily sales which is great. I've also purchased quite a bit of furniture from them, on discount days only- otherwise it is priced outrageously, and the delivery was rescheduled twice, but when they actually came out, the delivery guys were absolutely fantastic. However, in the last couple months or so I have run into the issue of bringing up clothing that was supposed to be the set price as it was on the racks with all the other clothes and untagged and then the cashier looks at the brand and decides it's a luxury brand and that it should be in the boutique and hikes up the price by 3 times. This has happened the last several times I have gone. It is incredibly frustrating and it seems unethical that pricing can change when you get to the register. The cashier blames it on volunteers putting out merchandise before they've had a chance to price it, but this is not the fault of the customer. Not to mention half the fun of thrift thing is finding good stuff at a cheap rate. $15 for a used Charter Club top is ridiculous. And on top of this, the cashiers can be very accusatory and rude as if the customer should know that anything nice (i.e. no stains or rips or massive piling or Walmart brand) is going to be boutique prices or maybe that they took off a tag when you can see there's no hole where a tag would've even been- and they even say that their volunteers are just putting out stuff wherever. I comb through my cart carefully and add it all up to see what I can pay that day and it's incredibly frustrating to not know what they're going to hike the price up on. I used to drop $100 every few weeks here but the last couple times have left such a bad taste in my mouth that I would rather spend my money elsewhere. The pricing down the street at the antique mall is more reasonable at times. read more

This thrift store is a convenient local business that I can walk or ride my bicycle to. It has days with some phenomenal deals.. especially Tuesdays where it's 50% off for those of us under 55! I won't be going back here anymore because of the pricing. They seem to mark things 50% off the retail price, which would be okay if things were lightly used. But we're talking items that are clearly well used and most thrift stores would price at maybe 10% of retail. Really bad and rude. I walked around and asked one question. Basically ignored as she rambled to herself. I asked the third time and she said clothes were not on sale. I had a duffle bag in my hand. At 5 until 6, she announced they were closed and I could leave now. She also yelled back to another customer that they've "been closed". When I returned my cart, left, got to my car and found this listing, it was still 1 minute before their posted closing time. I would not suggest this thrift store to anyone, period. Easy to get in and out of... Debby the Store Manager was very friendly and helpful. Got about $1000 couch in excellent condition hardly used for $180 plus $50 delivery fee. Like any Thrift store you have to look around and its a hit or miss depending on what you are looking for and when you are there. read more

From a customer view, service is everything. At first, i asked a question and wasn't talked to the best due to a misunderstanding. I, having austism and PTSD from the past, i felt belittled but she said she was really sorry and has had a rough day and offered me a 50% discount and she was genuinely sorry. I can totally understand and that means more to me than any given discount, etc. :) We're all human, so please treat your customers and people as you want to be treated. The store is quite clean and organized, the prices are great and the end result is top-notch. read more

Had a very nice new in the box high end kitchen faucet set that I didn't need. Not cheap. Drive to store Sunday morning. Parked and walked to front door to find sign saying no donations at front door - go to back door. Why try to make it inconvenient for donors? Why can't folks be directed to the correct area once inside and then directed to the rear for large items? OK, go to back door - now we have a sign that says Mon-Sat only for donations. Looking at the donation entrance area, no one has seen fit to maintain it in the last 5 years or so. What a disgusting sight. I took a photo, but I do not see how one can post it here. Sheriffs Ranch has a split personality. They have some of the most lovely, warm, personable help you could ever ask for (Read this: Ziggy, and in the past Mike and Gil, and Janet). But whoever does their pricing is a direct descendant of Ebinizer Scrooge. They totally miss the point of the whole concept---THEY GET THEIR STUFF FOR FREE! They'll price something that's in awful shape at about half its retail price, and put an Amazon printout next to it showing it's original value. Again, THEY GOT IT FOR FREE! I'm an ex-cop and my wife a former police matron, so we looked forward to 25% off for law enforcement day. Now, they've done away with that. We have donated literally thousands of dollars worth of stuff to sheriffs, but we won't any more. We've seen stuff there that we could buy cheaper brand new at Walmart. They'd better clean up their act or they'll go the way of the dodo bird. read more
