Side Chair for Great Room! A Steal!
    Christopher S.

First, these thrift shops are funding for a great cause. Secondly, you never know what great bargins you will find here. I have a temporary upholstered chair in my living room I bought for $15! I've also found name brand Hawaiian shirts here for $8! AND if you are assessorizing your home with lighting, wall hangings, prints, etc., this store has a constant turnover in that specialty. They have items priced to go. Pickup services are avaiable by appointment. Since this is close to my house, I'm always dropping by to take a peek.

$8 for used old bath towels. $10 for a chipped glass bowl. Super disappointing. I wouldn't waste your time.

Your website states the store would be open until five o'clock weekdays and I arrived at four twenty and the door was locked.

Our Mission Dunedin Cares Food Pantry will strive to alleviate hunger by providing food to the local community, showing kindness, respect, and compassion as neighbors help neighbors. How? We receive food and money from our community corporations, schools, churches, local businesses, HOA's, other Non Profits, lots of individuals, and over 16,900 volunteer hours. Why in Dunedin? Having retired from the food biz last year and…read morebeing on a set retirement income, there's been a few months where we were both contemplating fasting for a week or getting a par-time job. Luckily a friend told us of Hope Villages. This organization not only is a food bank but reaches out to people who are in need of a safe haven from domestic violence, emergency housing for homeless families, basic needs and affordable housing. For us, it was food to stretch out until our next retirement check. One has to live in Pinellas County to obtain the food. Pretty simple form to fill out along with a photo I.D. We take a bus which lets us off close by. Most pull up in their cars but I find being on foot I can walk right up and get a box of food. We've been lucky with getting rides or catching the bus back. They stock ones box with at least two or three frozen meals ( thanks Publix!), maybe four different types of bread loaves, canned beans, veggies, soups...( they ask if you have a stove). Sometimes you get bacon, always get cereal, some energy bars, some kind of pastry, dried beans, sometimes fresh fruit and or juice. Usually one gets a gallon of milk, butter and sometimes eggs. Really, you get a wonderful selection of food staples which can stretch ones budget. The volunteers are so patient and warm. I have witnessed a woman who lost her loved one, breakdown sobbing as a volunteer loaded her car up with food.mHe put his hand on her shoulder and then they clasped hands for a brief prayer. I thank the people there and the organization with all my heart. Blessings to all!

So this past Sunday, I took him down to the Humane Society (the area's largest No Kill shelter) and we set about looking at cats to fill the hole in our house. The staff was friendly, they gave us a tour, showed us the habitat and told us the areas where the cats were housed. They advised us to be gentle and to use the alcohol gel between animals - This can be a challenge as many of the little containers are out and you have to hunt it down. I carry it on my purse (thanks Yelp!) so I was good to go. We looked in every cage, fell in love a few times, but this one fellow, Cosmo, he stole our hearts. Our old boy, Spooky was a shy fella, and cosmo was hiding when we came in but he peeked his head out and trilled at us. He was a little lovebug and let us pick him up. He was easily handled. We looked at others but came back up and made the decision that he'd be ours We met with the adoption counselor and talked about mutual expectations, and what both needed, we were a good match and Cosmo was ours. I am happy to say that every one there treated the animals with the utmost kindness and respect. You could tell that they were truly loved. Cosmo is currently adjusting to his new home and big brother, Itty. It is actually going very smoothly because his big brother is such a sook.
