The teachers are fantastic -- they're caring, energetic, and really know how to connect with the kids. They challenge them without overwhelming them, and you can clearly see the progress. Our daughter's reading and math skills have jumped so much this year, and she's actually excited to tell us what she learned every day after school. The school has a really warm, family feel to it. The class sizes are small, so the kids get plenty of attention, and the staff is always friendly and easy to talk to. They also do a lot of fun hands-on activities, STEM projects, and field trips that the kids love. Even the lunches are fresh and actually taste good, which is a nice bonus. Most importantly, our daughter wakes up happy and looks forward to going to school every morning. That alone says everything. If you're looking for a strong private school in the Hollywood area, I would definitely recommend Sunshine State Academy. We feel very lucky to be there.

The school truly nurtures independence, curiosity, and confidence in its students. Over the years we've watched Jack grow not only academically but also personally, developing strong communication skills, responsibility, and a genuine love of learning. One of the most special opportunities recently was his participation in the MMUN (Montessori Model United Nations) conference in New York. Seeing students represent their schools and countries on an international stage at such a young age speaks volumes about the quality of education and encouragement they receive at Montessori Institute of Broward. The leadership at the school is exceptional. Ms. E, the principal, creates a warm, supportive environment where students feel valued and inspired. She truly leads with heart and vision. Jack's Grade 4 teacher, Ms. Kay, has also been outstanding--patient, dedicated, and deeply invested in her students' growth. My child went…read moreto this school for 2 years and I thought I had a good relationship with the teachers and staff, I was shocked to see how they had zero compassion toward my family when it came to money. I made the huge mistake of paying in advance for the year, and then about halfway through the year my kid got accepted at another school that goes up to 8th grade. The teachers and staff all recommended that i take the opportunity as it would be a good move for the future. When i asked about being refunded, i was told i would have to wait 8 months for a refund, and then a week later i was told, "nevermind, there are no refunds." I was out more than $5,780 and zero sympathy and everyone stopped answering my emails. I would recommend to parents to simply find another school, one that has an ounce of compassion and heart. It breaks my heart because the teacher was so great, but those business practices are terrible. I guess it's all in the fine print that you sign when you enroll, but never in a million years did I think it would come to this. I think the ownership/management should learn a few of the Montessori principals like kindness, compassion and empathy.
