This place has been such a massive waste of money. I started my daughter here because I was desperate to improve her math skills and self-confidence. From the first few sessions, I didn't think it would work out very well. They basically put them in groups of 4 to 5 kids, and they have teenage age math tutors, trying to tutor them all at once. My daughter is very timid and sometimes she would just walk in and stand there, and no one would greet her, and then she would have to join groups of older kids. Sometimes she would go 15 to 20 minutes without anybody even checking on her. I would have to go in and ask them if they knew what page she was supposed to be on etc.. On top of that, they would send me scheduled emails for sessions that I didn't even schedule. My daughter started to really hate going and would beg me not to go. I had to talk to the manager and tell her that I would like to cancel, but she kept trying to talk me into it, saying well let's wait until she does her next assessment so I said OK I'll give it another couple weeks. The very next week I saw my daughter sitting there for about 45 minutes without anybody checking on her at all. She was just staring into space the entire time. I finally had to go get her and tell her we were leaving then I told the manager I wanted to cancel. She told me it was too late to cancel, and I wouldn't be able to cancel the next month's either! So now I have to essentially take my daughter to sessions for another month and a half and pay $400 for an additional month of service that I really don't want to use. I really should not have wasted my money on this place, $1000 all together for nothing. We switched to online sessions for our last month and same lack of attention and service. She is on a session and there are five other kids logged in with one tutor. 30 minutes have passed and he hasn't checked on her once. I'm having to sit here and help her. These sessions are 50 bucks each, so you do the math. They also didn't schedule the sessions I asked for so of course I had to call again to figure it out. Please don't waste your time and money. You can pay the same for a one on one tutor for your child and not worry about being trapped in this contract. read more

When we started Mathnasium in February of this year, it was great and our son really enjoyed going and getting the extra help on math. In the last few months, there have been a lot of staffing changes and some of our recent experiences include our son (who was 6 at the time) being put in groups with kids way older than him who are not learning anything relevant to what he is learning in school, we have observed him sitting by himself with no instructor or other children around, our son cried during an entire hour during a session and we were not called or notified in any way until we picked him up, and they definitely don't connect or collaborate with the teachers as they claim to in order to help with what they are currently working on in class. Mathnasium is not cheap and I had higher expectations than our recent experience of just dropping our son off so he can do homework in a group and have someone watch him and not teach him any additional skills. I would rather spend my money on a one on one tutor as it's actually less expensive. The manager Alice is unprofessional and lacks experience in how to handle complaints and cancellations. For example, I asked her for a receipt for the $199 cancellation fee they said could not be waived, (even though she agreed this was not the right place for our son as he was not receiving the one on one attention he needed) and she handed me a paper that had a miscellaneous fee of the $199 and had no confirmation of a cancellation. I then asked her for something in writing that stated the service was cancelled since that is what they were supposedly charging me for, she replied "on my life, it's cancelled" and she then called me "anal" for asking her to write on the paper and initial that this was a cancellation fee. read more

I began going to this mathnasium last February and it has changed my math grade drastically! I went from Ds and Fs to Bs and As! Now, I passed the first semester with a B average in my class. Thanks to the tutors that worked hard to help me understand (Natasha is my favorite :)) I aced my tests and came home with honor roll first quarter. During one of my parent-teacher conferences in eighth grade, my math teacher even saw a drastic improvement in my work. Now as a freshman in high school, I use what I learned there and apply those skills to my current math class. BOTTOM LINE: PARENTS! IF YOUR CHILD NEEDS IMPROVEMENT IN MATH, TAKE THEM HERE. Highly recommend for any student needing some support with math!!! Director, Amy, is very professional, accommodating and a pleasure to work with. They're kind, yet strict and handle the kids very well. My son is in 7th grade and has been struggling this year. We decided to try mathnasium since we did all we could do at home for him. He has been going 5 days a week and within the first month he was able to bring his grade from a F to a B! Well worth it!!! My daughter has struggled with Math always...Enrolled her in Mathnasium (Weston location) for one year - she is now an A student in Math (from a D-low C to an A), staff is wonderful. Highly recommend this place - worth the investment. read more
