Her school offered tutoring but in no way shape or form could present the curriculum or plan. Her confidence was low and every parent teacher meeting left us feeling helpless since we were doing everything we could to boost skills at home. A close friend of our reccomended Kumon at the Tower Shops after hearing our daughter was doing summer school instead of camp. We started her immediatly the next week and we were astonished at the mountains she had overcome during the summer. When the school year began she was not even phased at her classwork and in our household Kumon became mandatory before homework. You know "eat the frog first" kind of thinking. It is a lot of work on top of homework and at times we were concerned if she was working to hard. Than she started getting faster and faster at mathematical computations. She began reading harder and harder books. Her handwriting improved. Most importantly she became disciplined all her own. Looking forward to her next Kumon buck and getting dissapointed when she had not completed the work. She was confident and assertive in her classroom. The owner requires a sit down every six months and has an open appointment policy whenever we feel as though our daughter is struggling. She definitely a no nonsense woman but was always very helpful when we needed. As an unconventional family with mt husband being asian and adopted our latin and caucasian daughter we never experienced racism? The owner was nothing but helpful and even worked hard to find another Kumon in our new location. Thank you Mrs. Ireen and all the tutors that helped our daughter get to where shes at.
