The Riverwood DOES NOT PAY THE ARTISTS who's products they profit off of…read more We're a small, artist-run company called Cactus Club Paper Goods who create stickers and greeting cards of animals and plants we paint. At the beginning of 2022, Riverwood placed an order with us at a trade show under a net30 agreement (meaning they had 30 days to pay us for the wholesale products they bought). They took a receipt with our terms and conditions. It has now been over a year and we still haven't received payment. We have emailed, called, left voicemails, and used their live chat function on their website for over a year and were completely stone-walled. Last week, we finally got a response... They said they sold our products and didn't communicate or pay us because NYC has seized their assets. We felt bad for their situation so we offered a couple solutions to help them out, including waiving all their late fees. They told us to: "F*** off and get a life". And: "Great I'm done talking you you. Feel free to blast me out there and try to destroy another humans life. We will do the same to you." We don't understand the lack of professionalism and we still need them to pay us. They had every opportunity to return any products for a full refund (we'd even pay the shipping). We invested our time and money to create these products and we need stores to pay us to stay in business. We've been as kind as possible and have given them over a year to work with us, but they decided to be unprofessional and vulgar. Our company is only two people and this is our only livelihood. If they feel they can take advantage of us, I can't imagine who else they feel justified in taking advantage of. When you purchase a product at Riverwood, the artists and companies that made that product are seeing no money and Riverwood is keeping 100% of the profit. This is unethical and very wrong.

Interactive souvenir and gift shop in charming Cooperstown, NY. The sales clerk was fabulous when…read moreshe asked my son to play a game of "Space" with him because he was a little shy and declined but she won him over by offering him a pair of the smallest dice in the world if he won the game. We did not purchase that game but we did find a bunch of other cool dice to swap out for the plain, boring dice that come with Yahtzee. Everything should have a touch of the original, I think. My son selected a game called "Butts in Space", we have not played it yet but it looks like a hilarious winner. They have toys for people of all ages, something for everyone for sure.

I wanted to purchase some Yu-Gi-Oh cards for my kids, I was impressed with the selection. While I didn't need any tabletop games, I made a note of the quality and variety of the games for sale. I was chatting with the counter clerk (may have been the proprietor), who told me that while the original Serenity is in Oneonta, the Norwich shop has been open for a bit now. I'd believe that, there were a decent number of people in there, esp for a hobby shop. Seemed pretty popular. I was especially impressed with how welcoming and inclusive the store felt. Gamers are a rather diverse (and too often marginalized) group, I was happy to see a safe space for them, particularly in times like these. Anyway, I digress. I was there for Yu-Gi-Oh cards, I got what I needed for a fair price. Heck, the next time I'm in the area, I may go out of my way for a visit, and now that NYS covid protocols are loosened, maybe I can get some gaming on while there. A chill store for sure, you won't be disappointed.
