Recently remodeled. Contemporary decor. Room was comfortable and roomy. Loved the huge bathroom counter. Restaurant/bar was one place I did try and the food was good . I had the salmon with brussel sprouts and broccolini. Was here for a work event and all there seemed to go smoothly. Adding some pics so you can see what at least the room I was in looked like.

Very convenient usb and plugs in the side of the bed.

The signage for parking could be much better. I parked in the back far from the check in desk because I was following the parking signs. The hotel entrance isn't obvious when driving up to the complex because there are so many business in the parking lot. The lighting in the parking lot was not bright enough. The prices at the restaurant were a bit too high for me. I'd rather go out and get a good meal then pay $60+ for hotel dinner. The room was nice. I liked the lighting and the plugs on the side of the bed were great! They also made it easy to use a fire stick with the tv. The bed was comfortable. The water pressure was barely enough to shower. I wouldn't stay here again because of it. If the shower pressure was improved I'd be at a 3.5-4 star rating. They have a shuttle that seemed helpful for guests. I didn't use it. The gym is well appointed. The elevators were a little slow.

Very clean and inviting hotel. Seems to have had a recent update. The staff was very friendly and everything was crisp and clean. The elevators were all working but even if they were not both working, I would not ding the hotel, as I realize they rely on parts and maintenance to show up to make everything work smoothly and sometimes that is out of your control.

Run from this place! I stayed here for a full week. This is a 6 floor hotel with only one operating elevator so naturally waiting for an elevator became a full event and you had to add an additional 5 to 10 minute expectation wait time just to wait for the elevator. Again, I stayed here from Monday through Friday! The second elevator did not get fixed!? Additionally, one morning I ordered breakfast from my phone in order to try to save some time. I ordered a simple biscuit egg, bacon and cheese sandwich from the app. The picture reflects what I got. Not only was it not ready by the time I got downstairs 45 minutes later, but this is what I got!? A service station has better sandwiches and service at a far cheaper price than this bogus Marriott family hotel. The bartenders are rude and there are literally no choices for food or snacks after hours unless you walk next-door to the Westin. Overall, other than the front desk, the staff seems overworked and have really bad attitudes. Trust me, this is no compliment to the front desk staff because they were not helpful other than checking me in and taking my payment. This hotel gets no second chance from me, I will definitely never stay here again.

This is a solid enough hotel. You'll be happy to stay there and the pricing is very fair. Just a few things that could be improved but aren't showstoppers. Positives: The rooms are spacious and well appointed, and the quality of the soaps is substantially improved from recent years, which is helpful to your skin in the winter months. The shuttle to nearby offices and the metro is wonderful and really makes things convenient when staying or working in the area. Nearby Reston town center has a lot of great dining options. They had a managers reception the night I got in, which I was unable to attend but it sounded like a nice event and a great gesture. There's nothing major to say as a negative, but a couple of things to note for the frequent traveler: - the room heaters are quite loud and it could keep a light sleeper up at night. - also for some reason they weren't replacing the body wash in the shower even when empty. - finally, I'd recommend to management investment in better bath towels as they were undersized and not soft.

I obviously did not look at the web site closely enough because I had absolutely no understanding that this hotel had a bar. If I was still a raging alcoholic, this obviously would have persuaded me to book here beyond the reasonable deal I was getting through Hotels.com. I was also impressed by the size and decor. There's a large, comfortable space downstairs for people to congregate and work or meet and talk business or pleasure and lots of places to lounge. My husband was pleased by the area around the check-in desk they call "Cravings" which offers candy bars and snacks (and other extras) for a charge. They had Kind Bars, which I'm crazy about. I had to keep reminding my husband that nothing there was free. They had real half and half in the refrigerator which is extremely meaningful to a coffee snob who drinks six cups in the morning. The man at the desk was very pleasant and helpful. The room was nice, but we were disappointed that it didn't have a refrigerator, since my husband insists on bringing a case of beer any time we stay anywhere (see raging alcoholic reference...they come in pairs...). They did have complimentary water on either side of a $5 bottle of larger water, which for whatever reason, I found hilarious. I was siked to find Tazo Earl Grey tea in the room along with Starbucks. I drank all the tea and the decaf that night because neither my husband nor I will allow to let anything go to waste. We were raised poor. Speaking of that, when we entered the room, the TV was on, and I just assumed the house keeping had narrowly escaped being caught watching her programs. Upon further inspection, I noted that they had a personalized "welcome" message on the screen, which I guess means they turn the TV on for you when you enter the room, which was super fancy, in my opinion. They also had Netflix which made my night, since I'm usually up late working and watching "Breaking Bad" for the sixteenth time. My husband is now begging me for a smart TV. When I finally went to bed, it was a comfortable rest although I found the thermostat a little flukey. I would get cold, then get too hot. I'm dead to the world when asleep however, so no big deal to me. The catch was this--there was no hot water. Not even warm. I noticed it when I washed my face that night, but in the morning my husband was yelling from the shower, so that's when I knew it wasn't just a glitch. Had it just been me, I wouldn't have noticed, since I hate bathing and only take showers when absolutely needed (when someone can smell me more than a few feet away). He wasn't that happy though, and we called the front desk. They sent someone up but it wasn't fixed by the time we left. They offered us free breakfast (you'd have to actually pay me to eat breakfast) or Marriott points, but I took a Facebook survey and 95% of the people who commented said they should have comped our room or at least given us some of the money back. But most of my Facebook friends have higher standards than I do, so there's that.

Although rooms are clean the lobby and gym have no air conditioning. This is not acceptable when it's 98 degrees outside.

With taxes and fees included, each member of my party wound up paying roughly $220 per night. And when we made the booking, the price here was basically on par with the other hotel I was at previously, which is almost in the exact same location, but the Herndon-Reston Hampton Inn is orders of magnitude better, and I think I have found my go-to spot whenever work sends me back to this neck of the woods. There is nothing niche, or overtly different at this place you won't find in other sorts of hotels. It is very run of the mill in terms of what types of rooms you find, and I found the accomodations to be in fantastic shape, very clean and tidy, so definitely have to tip my hat to the hard working cleaning staff. The beds are comfy, and whatever water heater system they have here is outstanding, since it was basically instant even on upper floors. Plus the internet strength here is pretty good. And I generally really like their decor and aesthetics in this building. The ammenities, too, are ones you see across the board, but they just seem to be much more accessible and well organized. There is a gym and indoor pool, open well into the evening. The guest laundry room is incredibly useful for those of us staying beyond just a couple nights. There is a conference room available, and business center to cater to any printing or computer needs. And the in-house, self-checkout store has pretty much everything you need; snacks, drinks, grown-up-beverages, toiletries, laundry soap, first aid, etc. And in the morning, the complimentary breakfast is a very nice way to start the day. The couple things I found which really sets this place above others I've visited are the customer service and the location. The folks at the front counter were friendly and helpful in the extreme, especially Aidan, who was manning the desk in the evening. The area this hotel is located in I also count as a plus. While certainly not a scenic part of town, you have access to a very nice walking trail just outside the property. And there is also a complex of buildings across the street, a 5-10 minute walk, filled with fantastic little restaurants and an outstanding brewery. And it is a very quick and easy drive to get to the Dulles Airport, or onto the freeway. All in all, this place certainly has left a good impression. Any possible complaints I may have are just nitpicks. Though I would advise potential guests to be careful these days with all the construction going on around the premises, as it makes driving, parking, and walking on the sidewalks a bit difficult. But other than that, I'm giving this Hampton Inn the best review I can. Looking forward to my next stay.

The prices varied but this clicked all my boxes: newer build, within driving distance, and a good price. This one did not disappoint. The room was very large, and had a desk and a couch, along with a wet bar as soon as you walk in. The bathroom was clean and very nice, though the paint on the ceiling in the one corner in the shower was chilling. We had 4 mornings of breakfast - all of which were a nice variety: open faced bagel sandwiches, sausage gravy, omelettes, and eggs. They also have a nice waffle bar as well and fresh fruit and oatmeal - the standard with these locations. Staff was nice as well. I noticed they had a pool too - but didn't bring my floaties. Overall - one of the nicest Hamptons I have stayed at and would highly recommend this one for the price and everything included.

Overall the hotel is beautifully decorated and impeccably clean. The support and service staff were friendly and welcoming; but, having attended such events before, I felt this business was woefully underprepared for the amount of guests in attendance. The area was cramped and crowded, full of people during cocktail hour so perhaps it was not the ideal venue for such an event. The rooms and hallways in which we were installed were very loud. The Hors d'oeuvres were elegantly arranged on small tables, but did not have much in the way of variety - sliced vegetables, hummus and babaganoush. For the open bar, options were limited. But what was REALLY terrible, was the food and service in the ballroom. I'm a vegetarian, and the plated option was a SINGLE roasted carrot on a bed of what was what I assume was hummus liberally doused with liquid smoke, 2-3 sliced brussels sprouts with the stems still on, and 3 cubes of baked sweet potato. It was hardly edible and would have served better as a side plate (versus a plated dinner) - not to mention the absolute lack of protein in the meal. Typically pasta dishes are served at events like this, which would have sufficed. Additionally, wine bottles were placed upon each table, but we sat in the ballroom for 2+ hours and never had our water glasses refilled. All in all, I would not recommend this venue for a large event as they seem ill prepared to adequately host large parties, and offer lamentable food options that are likely not worth the price. I can only imagine what the organization paid.

I love a Hyatt House, generally, but I'm often impressed by some of the ones that sit in the middle of what seems like nowhere. This location is actually pretty legit. It's within five minutes of a number of dining spots in the area. This time I know, however, I was not impressed by my stay. When we arrive, the landscaping team was cleaning up the front area and they were blowing leaves and rocks and things right at the car and didn't really give us time to even pass by to go inside the building. We hopped out the car. They stopped for a split second, and they immediately got right back to business. We got hit by little pieces of tiny rock, dust, and leaves. Anyway, check in was fine. The young woman at the front desk was nice at check-in. However, she wasn't nice later. Later, I called down to request a blanket and pillow because we were missing a few items from our room. She didn't answer my call at first. But she called me back like 10 minutes later. When she called back, midway through explaining what I needed, she rudely interrupted me while I was making my request and said, "you actually do have blankets and a pillow. They're in your closet." Actually, tho? Girl... I informed her that we'd check that there were no blankets. After a very long pause, she said, "well you can come down here and get them." Now, hear me out, I know I was not at a five star hotel. However, I also know I did not book a Rodeway Inn. And I've stayed at many a HH and never had the front desk not even offer to bring something up, especially they'd forgotten. 20 minutes later, I've just never had that experience. I ended up going down. Scarlett an hour and a half later, he got a call from the front desk. The same young woman was now accusing us of "stomping around." She informed us that they'd "received complaints" and then said nothing more. When I probed, she said the room below us said there was noise coming from upstairs that sounded like stomping. There was literally NO stomping happening and when I told her that, she said, " well is your child playing around or something?" Girl, bye. First of all, I'm very aware of what MY child is doing and if she had been jumping around or playing, I would've admitted that and corrected her. But maybe you're referring to the ONE sound that was made when we moved a chair that YOUR HOTEL had blocking the walkway in the living room area of the suite. When I told her my child was doing nothing and that we moved a chair like 15 minutes ago, I went for a long time before saying, "have a good night." Cleanliness: now, I always do my own bit of cleaning at hotels, especially when there are suites and bathtubs involved. The bathtub in our suite, it was very little cleaning must be done to that particular time regularly because there was so much hair that did not belong to anyone in our family along with obvious dirt that came up and pulled in the tub after I scrubbed. So disgusting. Overall, I can pretty confidently say that I would not stay here again. I really appreciate good service and cleanliness.
