I did not stay here as a guest but last night attended a large, catered event (A gala) and felt compelled to write about the lamentable food services here. Overall the hotel is beautifully decorated and impeccably clean. The support and service staff were friendly and welcoming; but, having attended such events before, I felt this business was woefully underprepared for the amount of guests in attendance. The area was cramped and crowded, full of people during cocktail hour so perhaps it was not the ideal venue for such an event. The rooms and hallways in which we were installed were very loud. The Hors d'oeuvres were elegantly arranged on small tables, but did not have much in the way of variety - sliced vegetables, hummus and babaganoush. For the open bar, options were limited. But what was REALLY terrible, was the food and service in the ballroom. I'm a vegetarian, and the plated option was a SINGLE roasted carrot on a bed of what was what I assume was hummus liberally doused with liquid smoke, 2-3 sliced brussels sprouts with the stems still on, and 3 cubes of baked sweet potato. It was hardly edible and would have served better as a side plate (versus a plated dinner) - not to mention the absolute lack of protein in the meal. Typically pasta dishes are served at events like this, which would have sufficed. Additionally, wine bottles were placed upon each table, but we sat in the ballroom for 2+ hours and never had our water glasses refilled. All in all, I would not recommend this venue for a large event as they seem ill prepared to adequately host large parties, and offer lamentable food options that are likely not worth the price. I can only imagine what the organization paid. read more

Ashley and Team at the Hyatt Regency did such an amazing job with our room block for our corporate event in Reston! Folks loved their rooms, love all the amenities that the hotel has to offer, walking distance to everything in Reston Town Center, and they were very accommodating with the shuttle service that we hired. I think I would like to give it 4.5 stars. But there's no way to do that. Some of the employees went out of their way to help me so wonderfully. So that is why I chose 5 stars for this review instead of 4. I paid extra money for the view. I stayed on the 12th floor. (Note: there is no 13th floor, though the highest floor is labeled the 15th floor.) My sons appreciated the view. I didn't think it was worth the extra cost. The pool was nice. The workout room is well-equipped for a variety of things to do if you're someone who does CrossFit training. There is only 1 toilet in the ladies locker room bathroom. That was interesting. At night, you can only enter at the main doors, which aren't well marked if you're not sure where the hotel is. They face out to the yellow sculpture, which is easy to spot from the road. Drunk idiots ruined the Saturday night. 2:30am, loudly walking the full length of the hall. A few people at a time. It was an epic fail of consideration for those who were trying to sleep. Note: take ear plugs and wear them to bed! My tub's faucet was pulled out of the wall. Ugly, but still functional. I told them about that during checkout. The toilet had low flow during flushing, so, to flush it, a person had to hold the handle for over a minute and wait for all of the liquid to flow down the drain. Tedious! The staff was friendly and accommodating about my need for towels and wash cloths. Also a bathrobe. They tout being able to text them at any time. 3 of the 4 times I did this, I got nearly immediate, friendly replies. The first time I did it, I got no response. The maids are nice. I liked the juice selection in the lobby. The location is fantastic - so much to do here! It was good. I will be staying there again, albeit on a lower floor next time. Hyatt Regency Reston was a great hotel to stay in for my dad's birthday celebration. Because of so, we had a suite, which was great for a large party. I enjoyed my stay here, and especially love the location, being right in the Reston Town Center. The suite that we stayed in came with a large living room space, with a huge dining table, wet bar, a separate bedroom with its own entrance and two bathrooms. The couch in the living room had a pull-out bed. Everything was clean, and it was a comfortable stay. Lots of room for a large group, especially if you're planning a celebration here. I really liked the location of this Hyatt Regency since it was walking distance to just about everything since it's located right in the Reston Town Center. In the hotel itself is a Capital Burger. We were able to bar crawl around here for my dad's birthday, with a ton of bars and restaurants just a block away from the hotel. This was a great stay, in a spacious, comfortable suite, with room to party! You can't beat this location either, if you're looking to be around trendy restaurants and shops in the northern Virginia area. It was fun time. read more

You can tell immediately that this hotel is not a Hyatt property, but rather a Hyatt franchised property. All of the furnishes in the rooms in the hotel are at least 15 years old. The hotel is in desperate need of a total renovation to bring it up to today's standards. The good news is the staff is so very friendly and bends over backwards for every need or request. Every one of the staff I have been counting has been friendly and professional. The location is wonderful. You can't find a better spot than RTC. The prices are very competitive as well. I'm changing my r my rating from three stars to four stars. This morning I had a small situation in the management went above and beyond again to make things easy on me. The Hyatt Regency in Reston has a nice, upscale feel without an upscale price tag. My family and I stayed for 3 nights upon moving out of our apartment in the Reston Town Center. The staff was friendly at both the front desk and at the Capitol Grill restaurant in the lobby. Will definitely stay again next time I'm back in Reston for work. read more

Great location, especially at Christmas time. It's a big hotel and it was really busy when I was there. Parking is valet, or in a garage on site. Both are an additional charge. Room was clean and nice, although some parts were a little outdated. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. I took advantage of the bike path next to the hotel, which was awesome. Staff was great with me keeping my bike in the room, and even watched it for me when I went to get my car. I will be staying here again. read more

There were elevator issues which caused me to walk up 7 flights of stairs. Their parking garage was under construction, yet still charged for, the TV in the room only had three buttons that worked, and it took four attempts dialing the front desk for someone to finally pick up just to tell me they'll have the engineer look at it in the morning, which sure helps when I'm only spending the night. The pillowcase was quite visibly stained as well. It's not how I would expect the attendants of a $300 hotel room to treat their guests. They were rude and dismissive. I did not eat the burger, as Judge Judy phrases it. I did not spend the night, I returned my room key after I checked in and experienced the aforementioned issues. And since the room was booked through hotels.com, they wouldn't authorize a refund. Wasted $320 on this garbage hotel. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

Pros: excellent location and very clean place (a spacious lobby, too!) . Cons: price and definitely customer service. I stayed two nights for a $100 something in March 2021 during which the hotel was pretty empty. However, as I needed to extend my stay for a night, I requested an extension. Thinking the cost would more or less be the same, they said however it was be the new nightly price which was $100 more expensive than what I paid. I asked if they can match my current stay price or do anything, but they said they couldn't. When I told them that a new $200 something then didn't make sense and that a new book elsewhere might be better - they didn't say or make any effort to accommodate me. Frustrated that a big hotel chain made no effort to help an already at staying guest during an empty-time in any form, I left and booked my hotel at the Hampton's Inn nearby; their price was significantly cheaper, place was clean and breakfast was included, too. For me, this two-star rating is for their complete lack of effort. read more

Everyone on staff January, 25, 2025, between the hours of noon through 5pm, was absolutely fantastic! We reserved a resort pass and came in to use the pool and staff helped with every question and made our brief stay welcome. I stayed here three nights. Check in was easy and staff was attentive. My room was very spacious. It has two very large windows. Sadly, one of them overlooked a parking lot and a car was parked right in front of my room. The other overlooked a roof. I didn't get prime view. However the bed was super comfortable and it was very quiet. I slept well. The second night I got ill and the staff took me up to my room in a wheelchair. They were attentive and brought me ginger ale in a large bottle. They stopped by the next day and even left a card under the door! I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel! read more

I have stayed here on several occasions for events that my kids participate in at this hotel. This trip was in October 2021 during Covid-19. Two main issues. 1. They had a lovely texting system where you could text if you needed something. When I text to request more towels they responded about bringing some. When they didn't come I eventually text again and didn't receive a response. 24 hours after the time that I requested towels I had to ask the front desk for them. 2. I left clothing in the dresser drawer of my hotel room. I have been told they didn't find them. I am 100% sure they were there as they were favorite clothing pieces to me. Sad that when I call they insist that they don't have them. I have two more future reservations with the Hyatt Regency Reston for 2022 for future events my kids are attending at this hotel but I am planning on canceling them and just driving my kids to the event and will drive home each night. read more

We were here for one night for the National American Miss Pageant in August 2022. Your hotel was hosting this event. We are local (Vienna, VA). A few days before our stay I received an email asking if I wanted to pay $50 for an early checkin. Yes, that sounds great. Selected to do that. Received the "change" email with our checkin still at 4pm. Got on Hyatt chat (I saved a copy of the chat) and confirmed that the Hyatt had us confirmed for an 11am checkin. We went to checkin and they said we did not have an early checkin. I showed the front desk the chat I had thankfully saved and they gave us our room. Whatever. The elevators the entire stay were atrocious. Ya, You told us you were giving them an uplift when we booked this, but never were we told only like 25% of them would be operable. You can provide staff elevators and stair options all you want, but if the door to our floor in the stairwell is LOCKED that is a huge issue. ADA anyone? Which leads me to my next point... We went to the parking garage to leave - with our 5 bags and multiple formal gown bags - and the parking garage elevator wasn't working. The valet said we had to take the stairs. Um, no. So I went into the lobby checkin area and asked the THREE men at the checkin desk how we were supposed to get all our stuff up to the 3rd floor of the parking garage? Indifferently, they said oh yeah, the elevator isn't working, take the stairs. No. I have a TON of luggage. "I'm sorry, that's all you can do it take the stairs." The STAIRS were on the OTHER side of the parking garage. What if I couldn't have walked up the stairs? And you made me PAY for the "service" of your parking garage? I am still just flabbergasted that all three of the people at your checkin desk didn't understand why this is an issue. I will encourage the other pageant contestants (and any travel sites) to stay at a different hotel. In other news: Really outdated hotel. Only USB ports in room were in a clock. 3rd floor was super noisy and I barely slept. Not even worth the affordable cost per night. I would be embarrassed to encourage people to stay here. read more

I attended a multi-day event at this hotel. I was super impressed on the service. Half the elvators were out so they arranged use of the service elevators. Signage was excellent for this too. Hotel location is great. So easy to walk to places. read more

The hotel itself is quiet and peaceful but just steps away from the busy town center. Lots of great restaurants and stores nearby. My room on the 15th floor was nice. View of the town center fountain and ice skating rink down below. Bedding and pillows were very comfortable. The AC is a bit wonky.  Even when set to HIGH it seems to default back to auto and shut off in the middle of the night.  Temperature was never consistent. The room would go back and forth from very cool to very warm. They have chromecast which makes it very easy to stream from your phone to the TV. I enjoyed catching up on my home DVR shows. I love the gym at this hotel it's one of the best hotel gyms I have ever used. Plenty of cardio machines including ones you rarely see in hotels like rower and skier. Great strength equipment, squat rack, battle roppes. With the exception of Joseph. I would say this location has one of the least welcoming staffs of any HR I have stayed at. The club lounge is currently closed so we were given breakfast certificates to the capital Burger next door, which is excellent read more

The management and crew are very friendly, helpful, and informative but they had closed down their gift shop next to where Panera used to be. During the holiday season in December, they used to have a Christmas village inside the Main lobby but they had discontinued (Stopped) that important tradition because of the covid 19 epidemic and pandemic starting in December 2020. read more

Stayed at this property over the weekend - for a cost of $320 a night: No Coffee at the hotel on Saturday morning (with no alternatives offered), had to move rooms because of dog guests that were awake all night and the final straw, the hotel restaurant - Capital Burger - refused to give paying guests a plate to have dinner. First time ever posting a bad review but had to considering what happened to us last night. Stayed here for a wedding- nice rooms, location and view. Loved our stay until last night. An insane person (possibly delivering food) got in our elevator. He started berating everyone in the elevator, yelling about politics, telling everyone that we were all the problem with the world. Kept rambling about McCarthy (?). He got physical with two different people (I was one) and tried intimidating anyone on the elevator. Police were called. Unfortunate but I do not think that it is reasonable to expect the hotel to prevent all crazy people from entering. However, the manager/staff's behavior and problem solving skills was the worst part of the entire episode. Mary M was the manager on duty and decided it was appropriate to get combative with the bystanders trying to get up to their rooms. Mary commented that we were drunk (we were coming back from a wedding so we had consumed alcohol) and seemingly blamed us for what happened. During the debacle a purse and cell phone was lost. I returned to the front desk to ask for the items and get the managers name. Viktor at the front desk commented "you are lucky the other manager isn't here." While calmly (considering the circumstances) trying to retrieve lost items and asking for the managers name, Mary came out and defaulted to telling me to go away or else she is calling 911. Two sides to every story, I'd really love to hear her side of it. Why did she feel it was appropriate to behave like she did to the people that were just trying to ride an elevator up to their rooms? Never complained or left a bad review in my life but also have never seen a staff member at any business display such poor behavior and problem solving skills either. read more

Came here for M and D's wedding. Everything was perfect! It was easy to find parking in their lot right beside the hotel. They validated our tickets. Employees were all super friendly and attentive. The space where the wedding took place was beautiful. Lots of attention to detail. The food was super delicious. Talk about quality ingredients and generous serving sizes. Bartenders were wonderful. The employees serving the bridal party were super attentive and personable. Prior to the wedding, we all got ready in the bridal suite and the room was super spacious and neat. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning to be in the area. The Hyatt was organized and on point. Overall, it was a beautiful and joyous day. read more

Great Hotel!! I was here for 4 nights for a conference. Its location is pretty nice right in Reston Town Center, lots of shops and restaurants. The room was nice, big and most importantly very clean. We stayed in the 6th floor facing the town center. The front desk is very helpful, someone is always around to answer any of my questions. They have great amenities, the pool was nice but only 3 1/2 feet deep, big hot tub I actually used, also had a pool attendant. The exercise room was probably the best I've seen in a hotel with cardio machines, free weights, weight machines, amongst other stuff you might need in your workout. I believe they have trainers as well. Also has an attendant. They have a great computer room with printers. Big lobby, restaurants and bar right in the hotel. Only complain was its not that close to DC. I choose this conference / hotel because I really wanted to see DC. About 40 minutes drive to DC. The train station is about a mile and half from the hotel, 10 min bus (1.75) ride that you can catch across the hotel. The hotel doesn't have a regular shuttle going to the station you need to make a reservation. And does not pick you up from station. The train is about 45 -minutes to an hour to Washington DC's main attraction. But if you're only planning to be in the Reston area this hotel location is great! They offer regular shuttle to and from the Dulles airport which is about 20 minutes away every 45 minutes. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend this hotel. read more

Average hotel at best. Stayed here 3 times in the last month for work and was unimpressed. Had a leak in the room once, not from bathroom, nothing done but "someone will be up." Never came so left it go and avoided the space. Parking to get out after checking out never works and have to buzz someone. Interior is dark and outdated. read more

Close to Reston town center, Came here for a work meeting and it was very nice. I don't know about staying here so I apologize for this review. Parking was easy to get to. They have a paid lot and I believe it was 16$ for the day, and there is also a valet option. There is a Panera bread inside the hotel which offers guests and people with corporate meetings something else to eat other than the hotel food. The food that was catered wasn't bad. It was simple and done well. What I especially loved was the heath bar like dessert. It had bits of sponge cake and vanilla pudding. The staff was very friendly and helpful to my questions asked :) read more

This Hyatt Regency gave me old school Great Gatsby vibes with its dark woods when you enter into the main area to check in. Just ahead there is a large atrium where you can see the second floor. Check-in was a breeze and there were no issues. The Regency Club was still closed because of Covid so I can't comment on that. Once I got into my room, I was able to see that the hotel was a bit dated with the old light switches and the overall feel. The mattress and pillow were fine, nothing out of the ordinary and to be expected in a hotel. The one oddity is that the door to the adjoining room wouldn't lock! At least when I looked through the door jamb, I wasn't able to see the throw engage. Luckily I'm still alive to tell this tale. The Capital Burger that's attached to the hotel has great food, a bit on the pricey side but it's to be expected as it's attached to an upscale hotel. Overall, I would stay here again. read more

I've stayed here probably 4-5 times now so I feel like I can provide a pretty decent assessment of the hotel. The good: 1. The gym is awesome. They have a bench and a squat rack. Also a couple cable machines (chest press, leg press, etc) and 5 or so treadmills and ellipticals. Definitely above average gym. 2. The beds are comfortable. I have yet to get a saggy or soft bed here. All beds are firm, yet comfortable. 3. The lounge is awesome. Breakfast has a variety of meats and cheeses and pastries and dinner has had steak 2 nights in a row now! Note: this is only for globalists 4. Location is good assuming you have a reason to be here. Plenty of food and drink options within walking distance. Also shops and a movie theatre. The bad: 1. The elevators are dirt slow. Nothing else to say here. 2. Customer service can be hit or miss. I got bumped to a suite one week and it took nearly an hour for someone to come up to help unlock the bedroom portion for me. This is after repeated calls down to customer service. Overall, a decent place. I wouldn't pay to stay here with my own money. $200 a night is far too much but it's a great option if traveling for work. read more

Attended a job fair/hiring event here. Have never stayed in the hotel. The hotel seems nice, hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The ballrooms were setup nicely and were clean and comfortable. The water, sodas, coffee, tea and light snacks were a nice touch. I believe this hotel is rated as the number one hotel in Reston. I can definitely see why. The location being in the town center is excellent. You are right in the heart of many restaurants and stores. Lots of places to walk and once you arrive by car or whatever means, you won't need it until you leave the area again. I highly recommend checking this place out.. We have been staying in this hotel every December for the last 5 yrs.. The rooms are outdated and they have done little to update. The first night we couldn't sleep, the pillows were feathered and flattened more than a pancake. They did bring us up firmer pillows but still was uncomfortable the rest of the stay. Service is not perfection but I can't complain too much. We have had some great experience such as a older gentleman that came to help with our tv. All in all, I would stay somewhere else. read more

Almost yearly, my husband and I and 10 other people visit the Reston area to explore wineries and have some fun. The Hyatt is always our choice for lodging. We have never had any issues at this location. It's fancy, the price is beyond reasonable, and you are in the heart of downtown Reston. Right outside the hotel is an outdoor ice skating rink, a beautiful large Christmas tree and multiple decorations. Enough to get even the Grinchiest Grinch into the holiday spirit. (Oh yeah, we were down in December). Let's get back to the hotel. The lobby area is wonderful. It's open and airy, a holiday train display is set up, the hotel bar area seems to always be humming and beautiful staircases that lead up to the private event areas. The rooms are nice. Your basic hotel room...but the shower....that shower! We loved it. The pressure on it was the best we have ever experienced. It feels like you are getting a personal massage. Parking garage is attached to the hotel and they tack on the price at checkout which is a cheaper rate then if you aren't staying at the hotel. Great hotel and of course, we will be back! read more

They were very friendly during check in/out and throughout the stay. I was able to check in prior to 3pm since my room was ready. My room was perfect, nice and clean and gorgeous. I stayed on the 3rd floor right next to the gym and pool. I was disappointed the jacuzzi wasn't working, but I enjoyed the gym. The gym was very clean had a lot of machines and equipment. They have everything, even ropes! The woman at the gym desk was very friendly too, always greeted you with a smile. I also tried room service breakfast from Tavern but was very disappointed, bland and flavorless. Overall, beautiful hotel, superb customer service and clean! read more

I stayed here for one night because my company put us up for a room if we wanted to stay. Of course I took that chance, especially since I live in Maryland and this was also my first time at Reston Town Center. The location is awesome. Traffic on the way is a horrendous issue, but that's true for any place in the DMV. The hotel is super easy to find and parking is convenient in a garage attached right to it so there's no real need to do valet parking. I assume the hotel is not very old; I figured it was built when the town center started really developing. The interior/lobby is gorgeous. Sure, it's a major chain hotel but it's very spacious and has a luxurious feel. There's a convenient back entrance/exit that leads out to the actual town center (restaurants, ice skating), which was great since I had to run from McCormick and Schmick's to my room to get my phone charger! There's also a Panera right in the hotel (thank you, Lord!) which is super-convenient. Though given the popularity of Panera, there are very few employees. It took my coworker 25 minutes to order and receive her food (two breakfast half-sandwiches!). I was on the "quiet floor," (6th floor) according to the guy who checked me in. My room was huge! At least, it was bigger than I thought it would be, with plenty of room between the bed, TV, desk, and armchair. I really liked the two huge mirrors that were on the walls. I was also thankful for the ample bathroom counter space. I always bring so many toiletries/products (I have the skin of an over stressed 14 year old) so it was nice to have room left over. The bathroom is pretty nice overall. The bed was comfortable, or maybe I was just so exhausted (probably), because I fell asleep immediately. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay. I'm sure me being totally tired only made my stay feel better but it was overall very clean and quiet. Would totally stay here again, given the chance, though I don't see myself driving all the way out to Reston any time soon! read more
