I recently had 5 large and 2 small double pane windows replaced. There was a problem with the initial installation. Blake, manager of the Chapin Shop, came out immediately. Rather than play 'let's make a deal' and discount the job I wasn't satisfied with, he reordered the glass and did a complete reinstall. The installers were professional, respectful of our home and did an excellent job including cleaning up after themselves. I would not hesitate to use them again or to recommend them. I've used them for the last time. Here's the scenario... I had used them actually on three other vehicles in the past, but this LAST encounter with them soured me on them. For those who are looking for good SERVICE, you won't find it with these people. Look... I had glass replaced in a classic car a few months ago. The car stays garaged year round, and only goes out to car shows and cruise-ins. They came to my home to replace the windshield. They did NOT replace the rubber "seal" (if that's what you call it?), nor any additional parts...just the glass. Well on their way they went upon "completion" of the job. I don't drive it in the rain but got caught in a light rain on the way to a car show. Although the rain was light, I guess the force of the rain/wind revealed water DRIPPING down the windshield inside. I called them w/i a few days afterwards and was told, "YOU HAVE TO BRING THE CAR TO US TO REDO THE JOB, TO CHECK IT OUT, ETC..." I reminded them that my schedule is erratic, and if they came to my home to do the work initially, just why would I be required to now take the car to them? We went back/forth and she said she would "check" with the powers that be to see what could be done. To make a long story short, when we spoke again to see if they would resolve the matter at my home where they came the FIRST time, she said they couldn't do so. I told the young lady that they COULD but they choose NOT to do so. If they had e/thing to do the job in the FIRST place, there's simply no reason they couldn't complete the job CORRECTLY at our home. I emailed them and told them to EMAIL ME letting me know when they had all the necessary "equipment" and "parts" that perhaps they had to order this time around, and I would then call to arrange a time to drive over and have them redo the work that they were PAID FOR IN THE 1st PLACE to get right. I can't place/take calls during the day with my line of work, and emailing me would work...I could see they had what they needed, and then I would reach out to them at my 1st opportunity. Well I never heard from them. I emailed them a 2nd time asking if they had the necessary parts should a/thing have to be ordered, and said I reckon you haven't got what you needed yet else you would have emailed me letting me know to call and set up a time. No reply. I can go back thru my emails, but I very well may have emailed them a 3rd time, but either way, no reply from these people. CLEARLY these people have NO intent on making things right. Never again! Shepherds glass came out to my job replaced the windshield. Two days later a heavy rainstorm came and water pouring inside the cab of my truck. I called Sheppard's glass the next working day, they said they could not come back out to my truck and repair it. Instead they wanted me to take it in to their shop but I had to work around their schedule. In an attempt to set up the schedule, Amanda said she would call me back and see if they could work me in later that day. Well she never returned my call. I ended up filing a complaint with my insurance company and they approved another company to repair my windshield. The next day Shepherds Glass called me saying someone was in my area and they could stop by my job. I declined their offer since I have another glass company fixing their work. read more

I had scheduled an emergency repair for my front door that was broken with a competitor. The center window pane had broke and fell into pieces. The glass company that I had scheduled an appointment with failed to show up to my home and after going back and forth with phone calls and voicemails, I kept receiving excuses. After two missed appointments within two days, I decided to call Sheppard's Glass. Tiffany, who answered the phone, was very professional and personable and she made sure to do as much as she could to help me right away. She was willing to have someone sent over right away and she got me a quote within a few minutes. I ordered a piece of glass from Sheppard Glass on January 20th via phone and put 50% down as a deposit. On Febuary 20th after several inquiries I was finally told on my fourth check in that the glass had arrived though I never received a call that it was ready. Over the next 30 days, they gave excuse after excuse why it couldn't be picked up. Each time (5 in total) I was told "we can't guarantee someone will be in the shop even if you schedule in advance or day of"! Very peculiar way to run a business! When I asked if they would deliver the glass as I couldn't keep arranging friends with trucks to keep their schedules open, I decided to take a chance and just show up! Thank goodness someone was there, in fact there were 5 people there!Sheppard Glass has been family owned and operated for 40+ years, so I asked to speak to the owner and simply let him know about my concerns and the run around I experienced! When he walked over to me, he didn't introduce himself, shake my hand or ask how he could help me. All he did was give excuses and take zero accountability! I would NEVER recommend Sheppard Glass because of their substandard customer service and extreme disregard for people's schedules or ability to accommodate when they fall short! read more

I found the store manager, if that's what you can call him, to be very rude! I bought two mirrors that hang side-by-side and one broke in the corner because of the ornamental pieces on the fromt it was just one small piece of glass that i thought would need to be replaced. So when i asked for a quote to replace the broken piece only he said that they could not do it because of how it was glued together I then asked if they could replace the whole mirror to get the corner piece fixed and his response was that it would be cheaper to buy a new mirror. ( first of all you have no idea what I paid for my mirror and if i want it fixed ill decide what works for me) From the very get go he did not want my business and was very unclear that the ornamental pieces would be removed and NOT put back, i now have a mirror that i cannot use and does not match the one I have and I have paid upfront! To be clear, its not about the money, its the rudeness and unprofessional manner in how he handled the situation. I will not be giving them my business, such a shame! read more

Bad people bad service....I took my 2014 Camaro Convertible in for a windshield by appt. The six repair men where laying all over my paint at one time and i ask to please make sure they did not scratch my car...The Manager (Lonnie) Was so rude and arrogant telling me they treat everybody this way and they can put my broken windshield back in if I didn't like it...So they violently put my car back together fast and shoved my out the door! Bad people! Bad Service! I think they were using my car as a teaching/training experience and that would have been fine if they had not been hanging all over the car like a bunch of kids in a shop class! They did not stand behind their work. I brought in 1970s aluminum windows for glass replacement. I said they needed the corner reinforcements, and replacement of the channel liners. I said, "I don't know if you can replace those?" Response, "We'll take care of it." None of it was replaced, $60 per window. All but one window had clear silicone applied to the channel to hold the glass. The window without silicone fell apart when I picked it up. The elderly fellow said I didn't exercise common sense since I picked it up by the sides. Duh, how else am I to pick it up? "We don't cover that..we don't repair the window.. you can't find those parts. Nobody said that when I ordered and paid! Nothing on the receipt said that either! Follow-up: I filed a BBB complaint. I feel really conflicted writing this review. Did they do the service I asked for on the same day I needed it? Yes. Did I pay a relatively low price? Yes. However, I got more than a good helping of sass here and I'm still experiencing issues. What happened was my car got broken into randomly, even though I had nothing visible in my car. I needed to get the glass window fixed ASAP, since I have to park on the street on a daily basis. I needed a same day service and after calling dozens of glass shops, only Sheppard's could get me in. On the phone, the repair guy Calvin asked me multiple times for my insurance information and I repeated back to him, despite his insistence, that I had already called my company and they would not be paying for the repair, and that I was cash pay. Eventually he let it go. He also asked me what year and model my car was, so I told him it was a 2012. So I slapped a bunch of garbage bags on top of my seat so I wouldn't have to sit directly on glass (I had no way of getting the glass out of my car) and came to Sheppard's. When I came in, they took my car back immediately. Then, I sat there for more than an hour before someone let me know that the truck with my replacement window hadn't shown up yet, but that it should arrive soon. I had made my appointment at 10 AM and showed up at 1:00, so I'm not sure why there was a 3 hour plus delay. Anyway, while I was sitting in the waiting room reading a magazine, Calvin comes back up to the desk and starts talking to another employee right in front of me. He asks her, "So she claims that her insurance won't pay for the window repair. Have you heard of something like that?" Naturally the other employee said something like "Umm yeah, sometimes if it's less than the deductible then they won't pay," and he said oh okay and went on his way. Then they come back to me and say, "Your car isn't a 2012. It's a 2013." I was really confused, so I tell them, "No it isn't, it's a 2012. I bought it new from the dealership. My registration states it's a 2012." They tell me, no, it's a 2013, because my VIN says so. I start doing my own research, and pull up a guide to figuring out your car year from the VIN. What do you know, it says that I have a 2012. I tried to tell them this, but they were adamant I was wrong. When I went to pay, the lady said I owed them $50 more than the quote I had gotten on the phone. It was only after I said "No, that's not what I was told," that the lady decided to change the price back to the quote. Whatever. They fixed my car window, right? Wrong. After making it home, I realized that when shutting the door, the sound of rattling broken glass pieces would come from inside the panel. So after the weekend, I called them again. "Oh, that's normal," the lady on the phone says. Well, my car didn't rattle with broken glass inside the panel before, so no, it's not normal. Apparently they decided to shut me up so back into Sheppard's I went for them to open my panel back up and remove the glass. I wish it worked, because although they got some glass out, I still hear it rattling inside my car door panel. I won't go back because I'm tired of the attitude and getting treated like they are doing me a huge favor to their inconvenience. Go somewhere else. read more

There glass work is good but the office staff can not handle people situations. I made the mistake of having my 13lb well behaved dog with me for the appointment. The lady in the office told me she was allergic and I could not stay in the office. So I went to the display room and she followed me and told me I could not be there, then I went to the lined off area in the shop and she followed me there and said I could not be there. I then asked where we could stnad, she said I could go to a field across the street. In my opinion, she could have gotten a chair, put it some were that she was not either inside or out. To suggest that I go stand in a vacant lot alone was dangerous and rude. I would have sat in a chair outside the door. For someone allergic she followed us around for 20 minutes hurding us to a vacant lot across the street. Next time I will wear my mink coat in there and see what she does wiith me. Riciculous, she could have been polite and just found a place for us away from her and safe. read more
