He has the most joyful, sincere personality and it's obvious he truly cares about the members. Every time I see him, his energy instantly makes the day better. It's rare to find that kind of genuine positivity. This location truly feels like a second home. It's ALWAYS incredibly clean, they have every piece of equipment you could possibly need, and there are so many classes to choose from. The smoothies at the café are my favorite. I've said this before, Life Time really feels like more than just a gym to me. I also visit the Life Time Irvine location and love how big it is, the jacuzzi and beach club atmosphere there are amazing. But there's just something special about the La Jolla location. It feels welcoming, comfortable, and like a true community. Highly recommend!

There are gym/sweat towels and showers available on-site with bath towels as well. There is only one shower in the men's bathroom. I assume the same is true for the women's bathroom. There's also a serious water machine on site that spits out really cold water. Free 2 hour street parking or paid private lot parking. I am usually lucky enough to get a spot out front. The only reason I'm at 4 stars is because they canceled class once and made no attempt to contact me or other members ahead of time. There was just a paper sign on the door saying class had been canceled, without any explanation. Other than that,

I was first introduced when my son was visiting from DC and brought me to a few classes. After he left, I had a choice--go back to doing nothing or keep showing up. I decided to stick with it, and I'm really glad I did. The structure of the workouts makes it easy to stay consistent, and the energy in the room is incredible. What really stands out, though, is the support from the coaches. They make you feel comfortable, push you when you need it, and genuinely want to see you succeed. A big thank you to Gemma, Lorenzo, and Sarah for all the encouragement and support. You've made this a great experience.

Coming back to fitness classes was very difficult and very humbling for me - and often times I felt embarrassed to work out because I couldn't perform skills/movements that I could before. The coaches were so encouraging and supportive. Going to Fitstop allowed me to rebuild my confidence and rehab old injuries through strength training. It has been the most sustainable and accessible fitness programs I've experienced so far. The environment is welcoming and it has really helped to change my habits and routines. I look forward to working out now and make it a priority in my schedule. The facility is well kept and clean. The coaches are great. I typically take the 6a/7a classes - Lauren and Carrie are amazing. They're super knowledgeable, they hold you accountable and overall I feel safe in the gym especially when attempting heavy lifts. Fitstop has a great community and the team workout format makes classes fun. Highly recommend!

If you've ever dragged yourself out of a warm bed at 5:45am, looked in the mirror, and thought "today's the day I stop being a before picture" -- these trainers will meet you there. And that's the honest truth. The training at Fitstop La Jolla is the real deal. Classes start on time. They're efficient. The energy's positive. Nobody makes you feel like a sack of laundry for not deadlifting a Buick. The trainers are the whole reason this place works -- encouraging, locked in, they meet you exactly where you are. A few of them are flat-out spectacular. They pay attention. They actually care. As a guy showing up to 6am classes trying to turn things around and start crushing life, I felt supported every single morning. No notes. That part earned five stars. Couple small things, and I'm barely complaining. The music gets... lyrically adventurous. If you've ever done burpees at 6:15am while a grown man on the speakers describes things you wouldn't want said about your daughter -- you might train at Fitstop. But hey, they want it edgy. Who cares. Not my hill to die on. Here's my hill. I tried to leave. And here's the kicker -- I did it right. I gave the exact 28-day written notice their own contract spells out, in writing, by the book. You'd think that'd be the easy part. You'd be wrong. Instead of "got it, here's your last day," I got the runaround. By my read they're billing me nearly a month past what their own contract says I owe -- a 28-day notice somehow turned into a final date that doesn't line up with 28 days from anything. And when I pointed out the math, the answer was basically "no discrepancy," with no real explanation of how the dates work. Upton Sinclair said it best: it's hard to get a man to understand something when his salary depends on not understanding it. And let me be real clear, because this is the part that matters. This is NOT a "read the fine print" review. I read the fine print. I followed the fine print. The problem isn't the fine print -- the problem is they don't honor what's in it. If you've ever followed a contract to the letter and watched a company wave off the math with "no discrepancy" -- you might be cancelling a Fitstop membership. And that's the shame of it. I liked these people. The fitness side deserved a way better review than this. But it doesn't matter how good you feel at 6am if you walk out the door at the end feeling like you got worked over. You can build all that goodwill at sunrise and torch it at the billing desk. Honor your own contract and this is easily four stars. Great trainers. Just know that when it's time to leave, that's where the workout really starts.

After having enough, I called the place nearest to me I could walk to. I was ultimately introduced to and booked with an exceptional trainer, Katie Kurtz. So glad I connected with her. Katie is so knowledgeable, inspirational and genuine. She pays mind to injuries or "bad days" and pivots workouts on the fly to avoid further injury/issues when needed. She does not just keep going- she checks in regularly throughout our hour sessions to see if she needs to rearrange the next step if needed. She starts the workouts always asking if there are any issues she should be aware of, and if you answer honestly, she goes from there to re-craft the session. She is strong, tough, fierce, attentive, and skillful. Really hard and great workouts- tuned for me! I was surrounded by the other staff at BRF often- good vibes, great personalities, and lots of hard workouts there. In addition, I have seen significant improvements in my both fitness and muscle definition. If you have the means to hire a personal trainer, I highly recommend doing so. The workouts are strenuous but not beyond my capabilities. The coaches know from appointment to appointment exactly what I accomplished most recently and they plan each successive workout accordingly. I have found each of the coaches I've worked with to be well-trained and always focused on safety as well as on building strength. Having one-on-one coaching is ideal for me and the workouts are extremely time-efficient. The environment of the studio is very conducive to focused and concentrated workout sessions. The studio itself is not large but is adequate to house 12 to 15 pieces of equipment. Moreover, during most of my sessions, my trainer and I are the only ones in the studio. At most, there may be one other client with one other trainer using the studio, but this is the exception, not the rule, and having four people in the workout space is not a problem at all. LJMS is truly a best-in-class school. As a first-time mom, this was my first experience with a school for my son, and I had as they say "all the feels". From day one, though, I felt nothing but peace of mind dropping him off. I knew he would be safe, cared for, and getting an incredible education. A few things that stood out: * Safety: LJMS takes security seriously. From drop-off to pick-up, every detail is thoughtfully considered, and I really appreciated that. * Education: I knew my son was getting a strong academic foundation, but what impressed me most was the focus on the whole child. The school goes beyond academics and teaches kids how to be respectful, independent, and kind. * Care: The teachers, aides, and staff genuinely care about the children. It never felt like people were just doing a job, it felt like they truly wanted to be there. We were greeted with warm smiles every day and my son came home with a smile on his face every day. If you're looking for a school for your child, I can't recommend LJMS enough.
