He was responsive to my concerns re my previous gutters (mismatched colors, undersized downspouts, clogging, leaking, and continual upkeep). The owner saw that I needed a solution to an area where there was only one downspout for two levels of my roof, and added another downspout (one for upper; one for lower) and routed one downspout in another direction, per my request not to flood out my lower lying neighbor as previous). He was responsive to helping me attach loose pieces of vinyl on my siding and he had his crew even caulking and painting some trim for no extra charge to make sure my house is waterproof. When they came out to install everything, there were 8 men in the crew and the owner, and they were in and out, in 3 hours, with zero mess left behind. They even took a magnetic roller over my yard to make sure no loose nails were left. His crew made sure everything I wanted had been completed before leaving. They even did extras that I had never seen before like adding aluminium guards in particular areas like around the chimney to make sure the water is directed off the house. All in all, I'm very impressed! They definitely go above and beyond and there was no bill, until every last thing was done, and the owner returned and reinspected the job. When I gave the owner the payment, he went over each part of the gutter system to explain how it works and put in writing a workmanship guarantee of one year, and 20 years for parts. He told me to call if I wanted anything changed, since I had made a change to his original plan in one area. He was very flexible about telling me, if I wanted it to his original specs, just call and they'd change it. I'm excited about how beautiful my new functional gutters look on my home!! They didn't tell me the time of day when they were coming. After repeated calls they showed up at around 5:00 PM. The crew was friendly but unprofessional. The truck they used caused me an embarrassment to be in my driveway. Looked liked they picked it up out of the junk yard. The installation went way to fast and they didn't do any of the services in the contract. Didn't check gutter pitch, didn't clean the gutters, etc. They left a bad edge on two pieces in the front that cut my American Flag into shreds. I do love the product so I haven't complained. I think it's grossly overpriced and recommend paying a company to clean your gutters 2x a year instead. After 10 years, you'd probably still pay less money than installing Leaf Guard. The salesperson pressures you into signing a contract at the time of the estimate using tactics such as free gift cards, travel vouchers, discounts for posting a review and displaying Leaf Guard signs on your lawn; none of which happened. I'm still waiting for the 17-page hard copy of my contract. Installation was scheduled within 2 days of signing the agreement. The installers tripped our garage breakers and never told us. When they left, we noticed there was no electrical power to our garage. We called Leaf Guard that same day to complain and never got a return call from the installers or a company representative. We had to hire an electrician to replace the breakers in the garage and house. The price of new gutters just got even more expensive. The thorough clean-up after installation leaves much to be desired. We're still finding metal parts in the lawn and driveway. We specifically asked the installers to be careful of the landscaping plants, but they still trampled them. Whole process went through insurance which is the foundation of their model. 30-40k of work billed, they were super easy to communicate with while the main work was being done. Now a couple years removed we've been trying to get some little maintenance done as the roof has settled and it's been a months-long runaround. Literally some caulking that I just can't get to. Things they said they'd fix for free are now being charged for and I'm going to pay because I want it to be done with. They're near impossible to get commitments from and they don't follow through. Once the insurance money cashes your home is over in their eyes. There's another young homeowner or old person to hound. We did interact with some great people which is unfortunate for my overall sentiment. But their business model is clear and it's very frustrating. I will not be using them in the future for any housing needs.
