The old owners were amazing people but not so much the new ones. I went in several times during "staffed hours" to try to cancel my membership due to me jointing a new gym only to find a paper on the door that said no one is going to be staffing that day. I finally got in when there was someone there at the desk and told him I needed to cancel my membership and he wrote a phone number down and told me that they have removed their ability to stop membership at the location and that I had to call "Sergio". I called the number a couple times over the course of the next days and finally got intact with Sergio who happens to work at an Anytime Fitness in California somewhere. I told him my situation, and he looked up my account and said that I am paid and in good standing and I can cancel. I told him to go ahead and do that to which he told me that I had to call ABC Financial the third-party billing system to do so and he gave me their number. So, I called that number talked to a clueless person who pulled up my account and when I told her that I would like to stop being billed, she said that I had to contact the Anytime Fitness to do that. I told her that I have already done that and they directed me to ABC. She said OK then I will cancel for you and got off the line. I never got a conformation email or anything, so I went to the Anytime Fitness website and left my concerns with my contact information. Later that evening I got a text from "Dawson" The manager at Anytime Fitness Mesa. He said he was sorry for the inconvenience, and he would personally reach out to ABC and take care of the cancelation. I still never got an email conformation but took him at his word. At the end of the month, I once again got charged for my membership and I reached out to Dawson and told him that I was once again charged. After 5 days Dawson reached out again said he was sorry and that there was a "miscommunication and he would resolve the issue." I asked him to get an email conformation of the cancellation and gave him my email even though it should be on file. Today I have been charged again now that it is the end of the month. I have just spoken to my bank and had them block any future charges. It sounds like these new owners have no business running a legitimate business that doesn't try to steal your money month after month. At the very least Dawson should be ashamed of how he has handled things to let it get this far. So once again beware if you're going to join this gym unless you want to be a member for life. All their good reviews come from when owners that cared about the buisness owned it. Also, I have all the text messages between Dawson and myself if they want to dispute this review.

My husband and I have been regulars here for almost 2 years. There is a good variety of cardio machines, free weights, and resistance equipment, and fun fitness classes. Plenty of space to work out, even during peak hours. Parking is convenient; we always find a parking space. One cool feature is a huge movie screen in an actual theatre, where instead of seats, there are rows of treadmills, stationery bikes, and elliptical trainers, where you can catch a movie while exercising. The time and the miles fly by. There is also swimming pool and a sauna. Very clean showers and bathrooms. The equipment gets wiped down regularly. Till the day came when I injured my knee. I couldn't run, I couldn't spin and I had to quit soccer. I was super sad, then lazy, and with a wedding around the corner with me as MoH I couldn't afford to sit around and do nothing. I even work at LA fitness and couldn't get motivated to do anything with fear of causing more damage to my knee. I had to do something. I met Joey and was instantly drawn in by his positive and motivating energy. One bad day later I called him up and made an appt to go in to burn off some bad energy. He worked with me and my bad knee. We talked about goals and such. He encouraged, and motivated me. I was hooked on O.P.T. We worked out a schedule and cost, smashing my excuses. That night after my first session with him, and his referral to a physical therapist, I signed up for the Pat Tillman run feeling confidant that with his help I could run pain free. Joey is so passionate about his work and his people. He puts a lot of time into his personal training sessions and is considerate of each persons need/wants/injuries. I love this place! I have talked to Planet Fitness several times. I have gone there a few times and had people change my routing number and checking account number and it's still not working so I'm getting billed and late charges stacking up. They also let me know that they don't do refunds very well and it's really hard to get approved to get your money back. I just got another monthly charge along with another late fee!! Thank goodness my account is frozen right now... but this is ridiculous. I'm waiting for the assistant manager to call me back, but I'm going to cancel altogether. This place is not a place who will work covering any late charges. I left EOS to go to this place and I'll be going back to EOS in a heartbeat.

I noticed that there was a promo running…read morea few days after I signed up, and I wanted to know why this was not offered to me when I signed up. So I called and spoke to a MANAGER. Rather than tell me that this promo was not running then (which he did not know for sure), he exclaims to me that the promos change every day, and they strictly only run for 24 hours. I pointed out that the current promo shows that it is good for more than 24 hours. It literally said that it was still good for 1 day, 9 hours, and 29 minutes. How can he say they ONLY run for 24 hours? He didnt like that. He kept saying that what I was describing is not correct. I asked him what promos were running the day I signed up. He then went quiet and suddenly hung up the phone. I immediately called back and spoke to another manager. He told me that what happened was unacceptable, and that their area manager would speak to him. That is great and all, but it still didnt answer my question. Now I feel disrespected and taken advantage of by this gym. They had promos running, they just refused to share them with me. They just saw dollar signs. I had already canceled my personal trainer because as I thought about it more, they have a 4-month commitment to all training, except the initial 1. That would be $800, and that's just too expensive, so I canceled after 2 days, never having used it. When I came in after canceling, the manager of personal training, Manda, was very aggressively asking why I canceled and not really accepting my reason. You could see it in her smirk. So when I realized I had been duped by her at sign up, I just canceled my entire membership. I was told I have 30 days to cancel, and I had only had it 1 week at this point. They tried to tell me that there is a cancelation fee for the membership. I explained that I will not be paying that, as I was within the first month. If I waited more than 1 month to cancel, then yes, that would make sense. Not when I canceled after a week for reasons having to do with their behavior, nothing I did. They will not ever see a dime from me after this. I do n9t recommend giving these people your money.

They also refused to grandfather me in for the first 20 days of January under the terms I paid for, which was full 24/7 access. Would have been fine if they let me finish out my billing month under the old terms, and then changed to the limited hours, but in this case they basically made me pay for a month I can no longer use
