Called Jay and ordered a shell. It came in on time and was installed as promised. I had them install yak tracks on top and never had a problem with leaking over the 2.5 years I had the shell installed. I called these guys for some advice when it came time to sell my truck and shell and they were more than willing to chat and give their opinion during their free time. Back in the market again for a shell I called and Jay remembered me as a customer and promised to duplicate my satisfaction. His quote came in under what others in the area are quoting for an optioned out Vision shell. Will be a repeat customer. read more

I had orered a shell somewhere else & was promised it to be ready in3 week's, I finally cancelled the order at the end of the 6th week & came here. I was told the shell would be ready in 2 week's & was & it wound up $250 less than the one from the other place. Great sevice & shell's!! read more

These guys did a fabulous job for me and they went the extra mile to make sure I was happy even though I am a picky customer. their prices are comparable to other places that I researched except Shells Plus has a family owned small business attitude. my new truck looks great and the new camper shell makes it look even better. read more

Okay, I checked around my area for places that would sell and install a tonneau cover for my new pickup. Then I saw all the great reviews for Shells Plus and called them. Jay (the owner) was friendly and accommodating from the start, so I decided to travel 50 miles to Santa Clara to have him do it. I was not disappointed. He is very customer-friendly and wants you to be happy with his service. I have my new tonneau cover and it was done at a reasonable price! Thanks, Jay! read more

I bought a Hard Tonneau Cover from Craigslist and had Jay at Shells Plus install it. Very PROFESSIONAL to say the least. He explained the correct way to install it and proceeded to do so. He also went above and beyond to buff out some scratches for me. If you're looking for a shell or truck accessories, give Jay a call, you won't be disappointed. read more

Very helpful unlike other places where they upsell you, Jay was very nice and friendly i will be back for sure. Installed fast too purchased truck bed cover read more

Jay is awesome! Last Christmas my camper shell was leaking on the 350 mile drive to Santa Clara... he got me in on the 26th at 8am to get it fixed up before my drive home, it was great! Then, just this last week, I needed a very small part for the lock assembly, that I could not find locally. I pulled up, within 3 minutes he not only had the part, but had replaced it for me free of charge. I highly recommend these guys! read more

Thank you Julio for a great shell and installation. I drove further than normal for purchase and installation but am so happy I made the extra drive. Great job guys and will refer you and return for future business! read more

Thanks Jay! I'm looking at my truck with the Topper you recommended (first time in the daylight) and it looks AWESOME! I really like the double latches for security. I found your prices to be the best and your service excellent. You should be proud! Someone once told me .... If you want to keep getting what you're getting, keep doing what you're doing. Keep up the great work! God Bless .... read more

Price, Quality and Service, Jay delivers on all three. Test drove my Protop through an Arizona downspout. No leaks, no squeaks!

Been around for 24-years, Jay gave me a fair price & installed the shell quickly. Order in advance because the manufacturer needs to create the shell & ship it. I would recommend Shells Plus to a friend. read more

I talked to almost every vendor here in the bay area and central valley before deciding on Shells Plus on El Camino Real in Santa Clara. I bought and installed a Vision shell, carpeting and light for a good price and easy installation. Very communicative and cooperative people. I can say many other vendors were never that (it's like they wanted to keep secrets, e.g., Campway). This vendor earned my business and I am happy to share the word. I drive a Toyota Tundra 2010. read more

Jay was very knowledgeable and fair. We found just what we needed. I would recommend Shells Plus if you're looking for a camper shell.

I've gotten a few shells here now and Jay and crew have always been great to work with. There were some problems with a previous purchase but they stepped up and made things right, making me another satisfied customer. New truck time for a new shell. This is where I'll be going. read more

Went to Shells Plus to find some step bars for my work truck. I told them what I was looking for and Jay quickly pulled them up on his computer. It only took two day to get them in at a great price. I returned after they promptly notified me that they came in and set up an appointment to get them installed. It only took his workers 45 minutes to install and I was on my way. Shells Plus is reasonably priced, has great customer service and I will return for any of my other truck accessory needs. I would definitely recommend them to other individuals who are looking for these type of modifications. Eric read more

I ordered a lumber rack for a stepside Tundra and Jay gave me a great deal. I added all the bells and whistles to it so I can have a bad-ass rack. Jay's style of handling business is very professional, courteous, and up-front- no bs! When the rack came, the clamp-on mesh did not line up properly so I called him the next day and surely, he told me to come in so they can measure it and order a new one. That new one is coming in any day now. He deserves all 5 stars. Thanks. read more

Jay the owner is the best!! He'll give you the best deal in this area. He can do it because he has no overhead - check his site out - It's just him in a shack selling quality shells with excellent service. While installing my shell an old customer came by because his Tonneu cover wouldn't lock/latch properly. Jay took about 10 minutes to fix it up, charged nothing and explained what he did. I highly recommend Jay at Shells Plus. read more

Jay's shell plus is fantastic! You can actually get anything you need related to your truck. He has a very professional staff and Jay himself will help you with the selection process.... no pressure. I recently purchase and had installed a rear bumper, folding bed cover, mud flaps and electronic locking of the rear tailgate. They did a great job!! The price was right, also. I recommend Jay's to anyone looking for good service, parts at the right price. 2006 Dodge 2500 Diesel read more

I posted this on 3/24/14 and some how it got deleted. Payoff maybe yelp got my $150!! My family and I have bought a few Tops and Shells from Shells Plus and have had good service until now. Jay made a deal with me if I bought a new Back Flip he would sell my old one at no cost to me he would make money on the install so I bought the new Top and he put the old one consignment. When I called to see if it sold he said someone has rented it and probably wanted to buy it (no call to me) so check back next week. This went on for weeks and finally when he said it was sold he shorted me $150. The charges Body work $100 and $50 to sell it without consulting me at all. My recommendation is if you do anything with these guys get it in writing. Unfortunately, he just lost a few customers over this; I will not go back there. read more

Normally, I would NEVER post a review before I picked a product up. Now, for the good part. Julio and Jay will go the extra mile for their customers every time. Try and find that in virtually any business operated in California. I was forced into needing to get my camper shell for an upcoming trip. I only had one week left! Okay, okay...my bad and PLEASE don't call these guys and ask them to get a camper shell in a week if you can help it. That being said, Julio answered every question I had and reassured me the Century cap I was buying for my truck will be excellent and I have no doubt he was telling the truth. I texted some questions I had forgot to ask in our conversation earlier in the day thinking he would see them the following morning and answer them at that time. He called me at 8:00 p.m. Can you imagine the customer service here. Listen K? Do your truck camper business here. These guys deserve your business because they deliver on what they say they will do. Thank you again Shells Plus!!!! read more

I needed a shell for my truck, so my husband and I could drive it across the country. The shell didn't come in on the date Jay thought it would. He knew how much I needed it, and he went down to Salinas to get it so that he could install it for me in time for the road trip. Jay is the nicest man. He really helped me out, and I can't recommend his company enough. Go to Shells Plus for your truck cover for sure. Jay will treat you right. Thanks again Jay!! read more

Great place, great people. We wanted a shell for our Nissan Frontier and priced a few places in the area. Shells Plus was competitive with Campways and Stormin' Normans. We placed our order with Julio who is there on weekends. He was very helpful and offered a pretty good price. Jay is there during the week and -- just to give you an example of how they take care of their customers -- we were in a minor accident right after we bought the truck and ordered the shell. There was paint from the other vehicle on the passenger side of the truck. This had nothing to do with the shell installation but Jay went out of his way to buff out the paint marks and scratches on the side of the truck. It looks 100% better and he didn't even have to do it. They really do treat their customers well. read more

Great experience buying a shell from these guys. They really take the time to explain the shells, give advice, and walk you through the process. Very competitively priced as well. read more

What an amazing shop Shells plus is. Great service and fast too. I went over to this shop to pick up a camper top for my 2009 Toyota Tacoma. An employee named Bruno came to help us out and Within less than 20 minutes, we had a freshly installed top. He even cleaned our truckbed. What a great guy. Will definitely recommend this place to other people! Thanks again. read more
