But I was honestly shocked and disappointed to see the store filled with Trump, MAGA, and Elon Musk/SpaceX merchandise. It's a huge turnoff, especially when you're just trying to enjoy a beach vacation and support local businesses. I came in looking for beachwear, not political propaganda. I walked right out. Much of South Padre has turned into a propaganda machine and it's disgusting. Also their item quality is garbage. AVOID.

Sea turtle rescue, hospital and residence/sanctuary on SPI ... a great place to visit, especially…read morefor families. Kids of all ages will love the turtles! Mostly green sea turtles, which are native to the area. Most are in various stages of rehab to be released back into the ocean. But, there are a handful of permanent residents, several species, which cannot be released and are livin' the life at the center. Complete hospital on site, with talented and entertaining staff and volunteers that make the place fun. Everywhere you turn... turtles! In the outer building, there are several tanks housing the large permanent residents, and various other sea life native to the waters nearby. Nice gift shop too! A very fun place to spend a couple of hours. Time your visit to hear one of the turtle talks in the outdoor auditorium... you'll be glad you did! Highly recommend!

The quality of the clothing and other wares is a little better while staying within the same price range as those other stores. It is a lot smaller than most of those souvenir shops but quality wise, it really shines. The primary articles for sale in the shop is clothing and shoe wear. Lots of shoes and sandles! They also have windchimes, bags, hats, glassware, swimsuits, puzzles, games and books, but I did not see much in the way of inflatables.
