This Sheetz location re-opened recently after an extended period of renovation - and when I say…read more"renovation," I mean the entire building was torn down and rebuilt from the ground up. The old location was the old Sheetz look. The new location is much nicer on the inside compared to the old. I pulled in today to refuel. Getting here wasn't horribly hard, but I contribute that to the early morning hours. Pulled in and right up to the pumps. While I filling up the tank my Dad went inside to fill up a coffee cup. After I finished at the pumps I also went inside to get myself a drink. I am not a coffee drinker, but I still needed my caffeine. I went with the coolers and grabbed myself a sweet tea. Checking out inside was quick for me as I went the self checkout route. I can only imagine what this place is like during the daylight hours. Maybe some time in the future I will venture out this way to check it out.

The kiosk ordering system was much more confusing/difficult than I recalled it being a few years ago. We got stuck several times after having put in all of the items we wanted to order. There was no button to go pay, just cancel or order more items. We ended up pressing cancel in exasperation, and that actually enabled us to proceed to checkout. If it were opposite day, such a backwards system would make sense. But this was just irritating. Our sandwiches were very good and the service was quick. My ciabatta roll was overly toasted to the point that it shattered, making it difficult to hold and a bit painful on the roof of my mouth. But the turkey, oils, and spices were delicious. MY husband got a burrito and really enjoyed his meal.

My wife took our Toyota Sienna there for their standard service safety inspection. When she came…read morehome, she told me the vehicle was acting funny because the doors would malfunction. Being a DIYer for our vehicles I popped the hood and immediately noticed the battery was out of place - the wing nut that secures the hold-down bar / J-hook was missing so the battery slid around freely. For those who know what I'm talking about, in order for this to happen the wing nut / washer has to be deliberately loosened with a socket wrench on to remove - it's not something that comes loose and pops off easily. Not pointing fingers, but I have concerns for sure. 1 - why does the battery hold down bar need to be tampered with? 2 - I torqued that bolt to OEM standards + installed the battery myself a few weeks before and then checked on it personally just to make sure things were good a few days before this safety inspection, so definitely didn't come off on its own. 3 - if this was an honest mistake, again, what are you doing tampering with the battery hold down bar for a safety inspection? Did you think it would disconnect before my wife drove off so you could score extra $$$ on maintenance repairs? While the service and price here are comparable to other gas stations in the area, this place certainly has lost my trust - I will be steering well clear of this place; don't want them under the hood for anything and have told everyone in my DIY crew about it.

It's been a couple of years at least since I've been down this road - so I was surprised to see a business open here. I pulled in to gas up. The pump mechanisms are rather old and worn looking. I had a hard time reading the small LCD screen on the pump - but managed it and refueled. Afterwards, I went in - thinking that I might order some fried chicken to go since their is a sign advertising this on the outside. First I hit the restroom. Absolutely disgusting. How can anyone run a business - and have a restroom in this condition? Gross. It needs a serious deep cleaning - and then regular maintenance and cleaning. The restroom conditions were enough to make me not want to order any food prepared here. I bought a bottle of cold water and was on my way. It's a small convenience store - and a convenient place to refuel - and that is about it. #DumfriesMarket
