Good thing that there were no line up. The issue is that it is not easy to get to this gas station if you are heading south. Well I was heading west so I managed to drive into the station. No line up. Gas as 209.9 everywhere and it was 207.9. Plus I have a CIBC credit so I get 2.5 cents off. So it was 205.4 for me. Gas has gotten so expensive.

Despite the long line of people waiting to be helped (and the line was ever growing, too), this lady was SO slow, as if she was moving in slow motion at times, and acted....numbed in her affectation to customers. Like, she didn't care to be there, and she didn't care who knew it. It was if it was a major endeavor to take the bills from each customer and slowly, ever so slowly, check each one out, arrange them in order in some way (turning some to face upwards), and then slowly put each one in the till. And the line of customers was getting longer and longer. Didn't matter. The place could be on fire and this lady would be slowly arranging the dollar bills..... Argh. Finally it was my turn at the counter. I asked to put "x" amount of gas in my car and informed her which pump I was at. And since there were posted signs everywhere advertising a few candy bar with fill-up, I also brought a candy bar with me. She said the candy was only free with 30L fill up. I asked if $35 of gas would qualify, and she said she didn't know, I'd have to fill up my car and come back with the receipt (waiting in this crazy slow line again? WTH?). What kind of half-ass promotion is this? (I decided to forget about this "free" chocolate bar. I probably don't need it, anyhow. Still, the principal of the matter irks me....). Horrible customer service and horrible "promotional" advertising.

The lot this station is on is crammed a bit too tight for the number of pumps they have, so you'll often see people waiting in line when there's a pump free because they can't get to it. If there's any kind of line here, I'll skip this station and go to the next one since lines can take a really long time to clear here even when there are only a few cars in line.

To give you an example of how little propane I use the last one lasted a year from new. I went in to pay and it was supposedly filled by the time I came out. Ripped off. I will not go back there but will stand and watch wherever I do have it filled to ensure that I am getting 20 lbs of propane. Calculate by checking the weight of the tank which is posted on the handle grip area of the tank.

The last time I visited here, I pulled up to pump 1 and went inside to pay. Upon returning to the pump, I was dismayed that it didn't work. I had to return inside three times before the clerk had to cancel and refund my payment, then advise me to pull up to another pump (so I had to pay again). Argh. At least, at the new pump, everything worked. I'm not dinging this station for this one minor issue. It was an anomaly. Every other time I've been here, everything's worked fine. And the clerk inside is always super nice and helpful. The inside of the associated convenience store has always been spotless, and large, with a ton of selections for foods and beverages. There are lots of pre-made dishes (and they don't look like the crappy fare in most gas station stores, either). One thing I LOVED here: they have a decent selection of Jewish foods! Yes, in the gas station store! There are Manischewitz cake mixes and matzah and other kosher canned and jarred foods, and Jewish candles and other small staples. I've never seen this stuff at a gas station and, despited being exorbitantly priced, I was impressed they stocked this stuff. This station has extended hours of operation, but there is no car wash here (unfortunately).

When my car is dirty from winter driving, I use their automated car wash which gets my car somewhat clean. Note: if you decide to go for a car wash, gas up because you get a discounted price. They also have a touch free option for their car wash for those who worry about scratches. I use their second most basic car wash which also does car under-body cleaning. I was quite impressed with the heavy load of car washing suds and my car came out quite shiny clean with only a few missed spots on the car body. I was less impressed by their system of cleaning rims - they have buckets of muddy grey/brown coloured water (12 months of the year) with an old long brush broom filled with mud/dirt (12 months of the year) which the driver clean the rims with own hands. Their automatic car wash system does not clean rims even if you choose non-touch free!

More fuel will be purchased here I'm sure by Larry. Shell, is still admittedly one of Larry's favourite gas stations because it takes him back to a day when they used to sponsor great Canadian car rallies like the Shell 4000 and gave out prestigious awards to rally drivers accross Canada for acheiving rally success in wins, competitive spirit and comradship. This is my go-to station when I'm in Vancouver West because it has the holiest of pumps ever - my much needed Diesel. That's right - I've got one of those fuel efficient VWs that runs on diesel. Luckily I fill up infrequently, unluckily there's only a few choices for diesel in Vancouver. And conveniently, if you have a concurrent need for fried chicken, you'll find it here! The staff here have always been nice and welcoming as well as efficient . I have never ever seen…read morethem be rude to anyone And they make you feel comfortable- Like they trust you . They don't make you feel like a lot of small convenience stores do- like they are following watching over your shoulder. I have a 5 year old daughter that can be a bit hyper, running through the isles but they have never given me. a dirty look or made me feel unwelcome which I appreciate: they truly are a "community" store where they treat everyone with respect. They also have a very good selection of products if you ever need something late night. 5 out of 5!

It kind of sucks because like i can understand how imported food are expensive, but now they charge regular Canadian foods at crazy high prices and it's super unfair.
