Worse car wash in San Diego County! I'd give them zero stars if I could. Paid for the Top Tier Wash which was suppose to include tire dressing, but did not. Just a terrible wash, barely looked like it was actually washed, just rinsed. I could have paid a neighborhood kid and would have received a 500% better job. Clerk refused to provide me a refund or discount. Bad attitude! Plus, when I pulled in there was a guy performing car maintenance at one of the vacuum/drying stations, and was still there when I pulled into the adjacent stall, he was still conducting maintenance when I left. I don't get gas here because it's overpriced and there is Costco Gasoline less than a mile further down H Street. I did, however, enjoy their Car Wash. I got a $5 off coupon in the mail that drew me in. Currently their least expensive wash is $12. It didn't have all the bells and whistles but it got all the bird poop, dirt and pollen off my car and had it looking bright, shiny and sparkling! *If using a coupon you must purchase your car wash inside the Shell store* I didn't know this but the attendant very kindly helped me, running my coupon and payment inside. When I pulled up the attendant gave me a dash wipe and a car freshener and scrubbed down the front of my car. I went mid-day on a weekday and had no line and lots of clean towels to wipe my car down after. The coverings over the vacuums aren't fantastic but gave just enough shade to get through vacuuming without breaking a sweat. read more

Not happy with attendant unwilling to refund the cash receipt that the machine spat back out at me. Machines do not dispense cash if you pay with a 20 you have to go inside the gas station to get your cash back on the same day or they will not honor your receipts. read more

Don't buy a car wash at the pump without making sure it's open! Wash opens at 8:00 (sometimes). Guy is often late with no ETA. I tend to pump only Shell, for now. Maybe I'll upgrade to Chevron but I'm completely satisfied with Shell. This is one of the four closes Shell's to where I live but its my least favorite one and the most expensive one. It is a big gas station with a car wash but the service here is bad. My gf and I have had several bad experiences here. And, like I said, the most expensive one too. Meh, there's three other nearby Shells that are cheaper with better service. read more

Not only is the gas here more expensive (drive one more mile north on the 805 and get gas for a dollar cheaper in National City) but the car wash (if you choose to get one) is nothing great. I chose the most expensive option (which includes tire dressing) and (1) the drier vents at the end left lots of excess water on the car (and there NO towels available at the self-service vacuum area) and (2) my tires look exactly the same (see picture I posted once I got home). read more

I come to this gas station because of the drive through car wash and it takes my fleet card- but they have horrible service here. The pumps are set up so that you can buy a car wash even when the car wash is closed- makes no sense. Additionally- 99 percent of the time I have come to get my car washed- there is nobody manning the wash- so myself and other customers have to sit there and wait. If I did not get out of my car and get someone- I am convinced that nobody would bother coming out. There was a woman who said she is a manger for inside but now outside- how does that work. Man, that Matthew guy who walks around while you're getting gas asking if you want to get your car wash can get really pushy. He came up to me today as I was purchasing my gas. I only needed a car wash and when he asked if they could vacuum the inside and I said no, he tried to lower the price and get me to say yes. It got really uncomfortable. Beware!!! Gas station carwash scratches your car. The carwash doesn't even clean your car thoroughly. If you pay for gas with credit you will be paying ten cents more per gallon. Also if you try to chose the debit option they will charge you a fee and not even let you chose that option! read more

So I've been coming to this gas station for a while. It's clean, it's convenient, but good god they need to do something about their air pump. It worked a few months ago (just barely at the time), and now it does nothing but deflate your tires. I asked the cashier for some help with it and he was unable to do anything for me. I ended up just getting some scotch tape (the only tape he had on hand) and taping up some of the holes to try and get my tire filled up at least a little more before I left. It did nothing because there were way too many areas where the rubber casing of the hose had worn away due to neglect of the pump. The psi gauge is also broken, and they don't have any on hand either, so you can't even check your tire pressure. The gas is also ridiculously expensive here. Probably amongst the most expensive in Chula Vista, if not San Diego. I've always just gritted my teeth and dealt with the pricing because of the convenience and cleanliness of the place, but now with the air pump not working and the general nonchalant attitude of the people that work there, I will not be going back. It's a federal law to provide your customers with free air when they fill up gas. Fix it. Also they have a really crappy selection of snacks. read more

However, at night you only see a bright red price which you get ONLY if you purchase a car wash. The regular price of gas you can't see because they don't even have a light pointing at it. I do regularly go there to get an express car wash, but on July 19, around 2:30 p.m. I decided to upgrade to have my rims & tires cleaned and shined. The manager charged me $18 for the exterior-only car wash and tire cleaning upgrade (which is double the fee of an express car wash that I usually pay there). When my car was done, my interior looked wiped down and vacuumed (I thought oh! they went the extra mile). But to my dismay, the plastic acrylic covering my gauge dashboard (ie., the plastic that covers the odometer and gas gauge) had noticeable eyesore dry spots. I asked what happened, and at first, the two guys denied cleaning the interior. But then, the manager (a dark-haired European guy with accent) fessed up to cleaning the interior. I also noticed my tires weren't completely clean. I have reason to believe the solvent used to wipe down the interior was sprayed on the plastic device and left to dry on its own, causing the ugly dry spots. The manager blamed the plastic dry spots on me because "we're too professional to do such a thing." I had to interject there because the cleaners were unprofessional when they lied about touching the interior. The manager tried cleaning it, but could not get the spots out, and said there was nothing more he can do for me. At first the manager wanted me to fill-out this application that asked for all my personal and vehicle information. I asked for the owner's name and contact info, and he wouldn't give it to me stating, "He's too busy for these things, and I hardly talk to him." That veiled response made me feel very uncomfortable with the level of service I was receiving. I was completely diplomatic about finding resolve in this matter. He did finally refund $18, but kept the $3.00 tip! Furthermore, he blacklisted me from receiving car wash service from them again. His words were, "Do not get service here again." As a customer, this was not the best response to hear. Not only do I have to figure how to safely remove these dry spots, but incur a charge to remove them. I went to a BMW parts retailer, and was told to replace the device. This BMW device costs $626.54, not including labor and taxes. This is outrageous. I came in to this car wash for an $18 wash and came out with damages 35 times that cost. I am really disappointed with the way this was handled. I take great pride in having my BMW, it hurts to see my damaged dashboard, and not having resolve in this matter. I already contacted Shell Corporate, too. read more

I thought this gas station was good until I got a really bad service in their car wash. The receipt didn't print by the pump so I went in to get a copy from the cashier. The moment I typed in the code, it says error. The guys at the pump finally let me through but the moment I got out, this rude so called assistant manager told me the I cannot come back there anymore. With our surprised I asked why. He told us that the code was already used 15 minutes ago by me and I used it again and pretended the code doesn't work. For a$50 gas and $10 car wash, I did not expect this.
