Probably the most expensive gas in San Diego and wait... can't even provide with free air. $1 for air and bad attitude from the employees as they tell you it also. Recommend going down to ampm or shell on the 56 freeway. Every other gas station will give you free air/water for your vehicle. read more

One star for being the Most Expensive Gas Station Anywhere. Head 5 miles away and save about 50c per gallon. Find a Costco and save $1 per gallon. Unlike Costco, there's never a wait for a pump at the Shell. Three stars for selling beer. Not cheap, but it's beer. Five stars for the employees and the propane refills. Surprisingly enough, their per-gallon pricing for propane is within 10c of just about any other gas station that carries it. And the employees are quick with the propane tank fills. This is the 3rd time I have been there when a cashier has had a huge dog there at night. Does the owner know about this? It's so strange. Had an incredibly rude interaction with an attendant today as I was swapping cars with a friend. Parked off to the side, not in anyone's way, and we both went inside to buy something to ensure we were respectful of borrowing their parking lot for 5 mins. Filled up with gas late at night. Pump asked if I wanted a receipt. I pressed yes, I turn them in to be reimbursed at work. The pump said see The clerk for receipt. There were two men inside but they wouldn't open the door indicating a sign saying they were closed for the next 30 minutes. This is a 24 hour station. I understand that they didn't want people in because they were vacuuming the floors but one of the attendants could have opened the door to find out what I wanted. Simply print out the receipt, I would be happy to wait outside. The phone numbers listed on the door for customer service are not working numbers. What can I say, the gas is not particularly cheep, there are 3 other stations very near by. I do not feel a need to come back here. read more

Excellent store and bathroom is very very nice! Staff is super friendly. We have been using this location to pick up snacks for the beach.

I think this is the MOST expensive gas station in San Diego. But if you're low on gas here, there's no other choice. $3.99 for regular while everywhere else is around $3.50. But I suppose you Del Mar yuppies and your trust fund kids make a lot more $$$$$ than me. read more

I tried to use the car wash but it malfunctioned first giving me a green light and then telling me to back up. I couldn't get it to work and just drove out in frustration. I unsuccessfully Googled for their number but it was not where it should have been as a Shell station, so then I had to find it on Yelp. When I called they immediately looking up my transaction and gave me a code so I could come another time. I'd give them 5 stars for attitude but I took off one star for a balky csutomstic car wash and another star for not making their telephone number easier to find. The most expensive gas in San Diego by far. I'm always puzzled to see people buying gas here w/o crying. They must be using a company gas card. Just go west across the freeway to the 7-11 for cheaper gas. The only good thing about this spot is it's large parking lot. I came here to get gas before work, I went inside because the gas machine wasn't operating correctly. I went inside and the cashier, paid no attention to me when I was standing there, she noticed me and slowly walked over, may I add, she was not wearing a mask!!! She was a blonde woman, she wasn't wearing a name tag, but somewhat older but not like elderly. I was shocked. She was so rude and had an awful tone. I cant believe they had employees working like this! Her behavior was not warm at all, and she was not practicing safety measures that are now the law regarding covid! I've been to this gas station 3x this month and today was my final straw. Went to pay for gas ($20) and breakfast bar ($4) the gas attendant rang the items up and told me I owed $46 and some change , shocked and thinking maybe he misheard them amount of gas I wanted I repeated I only wanted $20 in gas and the breakfast bar. Dude ( gas station attendant) actually told me that the money owed was probably just taxes for the breakfast bar and gas. Even the lady behind him looked flabbergasted by his response. After what seemed like a few minutes of just staring and confusion the lady comes up to the register and removes what apparently was the taxes and my bill looks correct. I pay and leave. Stupid prices, always the highest priced gas in ALL of North County. I am always shocked to see anyone here!

I have no idea how this place even stays in business (who comes here and pays these prices?). I'm not one who even usually pays attention too much to gas prices. I'm certainly not one to use an app to tell me who has the cheapest gas in the area, for instance. But this place is so egregious, its just impossible not to notice. Their prices are sometimes nearly a dollar higher than the station less than half a mile away. When I drive by and see cars filling up here, I always think: are these customers millionaires or morons? If you are desperate, there is another gas station that won't raze your pocketbook just west right across the freeway on the corner of Del Mar Heights Rd & Mango Dr (Vons/CVS shopping center). There's a Chevron and another (decent) Shell just up the road on Via de la Valle. C'mon people, don't reward such despicable & unethical practices. read more

Very BAD auto service Shell station. Last month I went to San Diego, on the way home my Mercedes could not start then it was towed to this station for repair. A mechanic, named John, replaced a small battery ($85.00 cost online) and a small sensor ($49.00 online), and I was charged $532.44 total. But, it was not the main problems. When I got home in SF, he called and said that he had left a wrench set on the edge of the engine hood. Next day he called again and said that he also left a keys set somewhere under the hood too, and if I can find those for him. I told him that I would not try to find those. If he did leave those things there, it might felt onto the engine and could have broke the engine during 500 miles driving. Last week, I took the car to a car wash, the cleaner found a set of keys on the floor under the driver seat. Then, I took a car to a repair shop and told a mechanic there the story. and asked him to look for the wrench set. He found those in the battery box. He also told me I was over charged for almost $200.00. Do not have the towing truck take your car to this station. The AAA towing driver told me that this was a good and low price service. 6-20-19: My previous Review/post regarding "Dan" 's relentless help to me at the SHELL GAS STATION a week ago (6-13-19) really did not give him his due props. I did say briefly he spent MORE THAN an 1hr maybe 2 fooling w/me; my predicament & he didn't ask for anything. He just did the right thing and the best he knew to do. But, after making that broad statement, I commented mostly on the CHP Officer (I found his name: GUZMAN) then I got too wrapped up in my frustration with "ASAP" towing. Back to Dan: after the Officer(s) dropped me off: Dan & 1 other employee, who was getting off...he/I were now left alone. I told him I had no money. He spun into a relentless effort to get me gas right away. He was not due to get off yet; called several others to see if they could help me and found no one. Dan spun into crises mode and CLOSED the station. DROVE ME TO THE SPOT EXACTLY WHERE I'd BROKE DOWN - -Took us straight to my car (where the shankster/driver sat in his ASAP TRUCK); this was now 1:11AM, ~2-3HRS AFTER MY INITIAL CALL TO THEM @~10PM. Dan was able to immediately open my driver door; unleash the knodgle to fill my tank for gas. I realized I'd walked out of my car, leaving it UNLOCKED...prayed it had not been compromised for vandalism. The next day, a few of my credit & bank cards were missing; but, I'm @ a point of sheer GRATITUDE BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE DAN, who I believe are Angels, put here on earth. Do not wash your car here unless it's your beater car and you don't car about damage. I have an old Honda that's my beater car. It's was pretty dirty so I took it thru the wash. I was really startled at how hard those brushes hit the car. It really shook my accord. read more

I'm proppin' this particular Shell gas station because it has a friggin' playground with a sweet ball pit and plastic slide! How awesome is that? While you're bending over for the petrol gods, dumping your wallet into your gas tank, you can hop around in the multi-colored balls and play on the monkey bars! The gas here is always higher than even the Shell at the next gas station up. But what really bothers me is that even though customer say they don't want bags, they are still charged $.10 for bags. 2x$.10 in this case. The gentleman behind the register applies the charge for the bags before even ask if you would like them. I watched him do this, and then when he asked me if I wanted bags and I said no loud and clear, he did not remove the bag charge. I'm not so uptight about my $.20, but I have a feeling this occurs with every single customer that comes through there. Check your receipts people. $.20 pulled off of every customer that comes in the store adds up to a lot of money for this Shell station unbeknownst to the customers. read more

MOST EXPENSIVE GAS STATION IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY! Stay away! For years, this gas station has been the most expensive in San Diego COUNTY. It is right off the 5 freeway on Del Mar Heights so stupid tourists probably go here to fill up, not knowing that Chevron is right down the street and is 30-40 cents cheaper per gallon. Arco is 3 blocks away and about 50 cents cheaper per gallon. read more
