This is not my first time at Buc-ee's, but this was my first time perusing the hot food options…read more Now, with my food allergies (garlic being one of the major ones) it's very rare that I can't eat at a majority of fast food/restaurants, let alone a gas station. Having said that...this stop I was checking out the sandwiches and bfast options...Most BBQ I can't have because of the seasoning on the meat, but Buc-ee's sliced turkey on the other hand - NO GARLIC Now I'm excited Then I read the rest of the ingredients in the wrapper. Garlic in the BBQ sauce So, the hubs asks the employee behind the round glass area (who was literally standing around with his arms crossed) if we can get just the turkey on a bun (no bbq sauce basically)? The dark haired, bearded guy said "No substitutions!" And my hubs was like "I get that but my wife has a garlic allergy and can't do the BBQ sauce, but can do the meat! Which is rare for her!" The gentleman said "No substitutions!" He didn't direct us somewhere else to just get the sliced turkey by itself or offer to speak to a manager or anything... Guess no more Buc-ee's stops for us!! Not willing to accommodate what I feel like is a small ask... it's not like it's a big ask to NOT PUT BBQ SAUCE on a sandwich...right?! Oh well - now onto discovering other places that accommodate

So, what made me give this particular RaceTrac a five-star rating? Was it the price of gas?…read moreActually, no. The gas prices here were in line with what other gas stations were charging in the area, but they certainly were not stellar. Was it location? Well, it was just off of Interstate 95 on State Road 16 in Saint Augustine, Florida, but that wasn't it. Well, it had to be the hot dogs, right? Okay, you got me. Lol, just kidding. They were normal convenience store hot dogs and they also had the usual convenience store items that you would expect in a gas station convenience store. So what was it? I will tell you, ladies and gentlemen. What made this RaceTrac a five-star experience in my book was the great staff in this particular RaceTrac. They truly were fantastic. The staff at any establishment can make or break an experience and these guys went out of their way to make it a great experience.
