For years 7-Eleven has practically been a haven business of our community as a place where they can…read morego shop for last minute items that they have ran out or forgot to shop for when they went to the large supermarkets. It has been a please for friends to gather around and drink a slurpee and eat a slice of pizza or one of their delicious different size hot dogs. Or stop by early in the morning on the way to work for a cup of coffee, and on Sundays for a copy of the Sunday newspaper. It's app has also kept up with the times and one can earn points that they can use to exchange for items. Today I visited this 7-Eleven for the first time and was pleasantly surprised at how clean and organized it was, and the extensive variety of products it had in stock. From coffee and donuts to soft drinks and all kinds of snacks, such as the famous Slim Jims and other well recognized items that it has had for years. It had a variety of chocolate bars including high end brands. Many hot items for breakfast or lunch or even for an afternoon snack just before going home for dinner. Items like milk and ice cream that are always in popular demand as well as necessity items that are needed for the home. Besides these, there are other items such as stuffed animals and other small gifts that a parent might want to pick up to surprise their kids with on the way home from work. And also if they need to fill their car's tank with gas. And last but not least is the friendly service that the employees of 7-11 provide its customers. They greet you with a welcoming smile, and they are very helpful in finding you whatever it is that you are needing. They efficiently ring up your purchases, and baggage them, and wish you a nice day. As we can see 7-Eleven provides a good service to our community. And not many of them are in such a great condition and fully stacked as this one is. For this reason I not only highly recommend this 7-Eleven to all those reading this review, but on this Thanksgiving Day, give thanks to all the managers and employees of the 7-Eleven in particular for the great job that you're doing in this store.

As I was driving down Franklin Road the other day, I noticed that my Lexus was low on gas, so I…read morestarted looking for a gas station where to fill it with gas. But not just any gas. One that I had filled it with before, and I had noticed the energy and power it had given my Lexus when I pushed the pedal. Shell gas. And so I stopped at the first Shell gas station I happened to run into. After being awarded the NC Triad Yelp Squad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, celebrating their contributions and accomplishments throughout the year, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and businesses, and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And this Shell Service Station located at 3630 Franklin Road in Southwest, Roanoke, Virginia, is a perfect example. Just the other day I had downloaded the Shell app, and had not yet used it before. The Shell app provides benefits like saving money on fuel and in-store purchases through the Fuel Rewards Program. Pay for fuel directly from your cellphone via in-app payments. Find nearby Shell stations and access promotional offers, track your savings, and view digital receipts for all transactions. Monitor your progress in the Fuel Rewards Program. And achieve different status levels like Silver, Gold, or Platinum, which offer varying cents-per-gallon savings. This particular service station has a variety of fuel products including Shell V-Power NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline, Shell Midgrade Gasoline and Shell Regular Gasoline. This station also includes a Convenience Store, Mobile Payments, and an ATM machine. The Convenience Store is named Duck In Market #3. I went inside and it was very clean and organized with many essential products as well as curiosity items such as Troll Dolls. These tiny dolls with long colorful hair were very popular years ago and still retain its nostalgic popularity. They were originally created in 1959 by a Danish woodcutter named Thomas Dam and became a major toy fad in the United States during the early 1960s, with resurgences in popularity throughout the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. They are recognizable by their distinct, somewhat unique look and their signature upright, vibrant hair, which was originally made from sheep's wool.  The app was so convenient and easy to use. Once you connected a credit card to it and are standing next to the Gasoline pump you will be using, it asks you to put in the number of your pump and then this activates the pump so you can pump your gas into your car, and when you finish, you will receive a digital receipt. I also wanted a paper receipt so by going inside the convenience store, the friendly attendant was able to print me one. The reason for the paper receipt is that I have another free rewards app called Fetch where I can earn points on everyday purchases by snapping pictures of my receipts. These points can then be redeemed for gift cards or cash back rewards from various retailers and restaurants. In conclusion I highly recommend this conveniently located gas station for the aforementioned reasons, and plan to continue using it myself in the near future.

Well, there was multiple catch in order to get gas there. First of all, everything is either prepaid inside or you can use ApplePay. I was just trying to get everything done quickly so chose to use ApplePay. No big deal, or so I thought. Well, they apparently don't take Amex or ApplePay wasn't working that day. The pump had no option to use regular old credit cards either. I also didn't want to spend any more extra time there. I get it that it's more expensive to process credit card transactions and it cuts into profits. Especially with Amex, it can be expensive to process it but still. And ya know what? It also creeped me out that there were no other cars or customers at this station. Normally when all the other gas stations are charging more than $4/ gallon, you'd see many people in queue to get gas. But not at this location despite it being very inexpensive to pump some. So I left and just got gas at BJs gas station. Just writing this review so others can make more informed decisions.

I found the Gatorade, went up front, and there was nobody at the register. I waited for several minutes thinking that maybe the cashier was in the restroom or something, but after about 5-10 minutes I got tired of waiting and put the Gatorade back. As I was about to go out the door, one of the women standing out front opened the door and said something to the effect of her not knowing I was in there and apologized. I told her I'd literally walked right past her going into the store, and she asked if there was anything she could do for me. I told her no, that I was done waiting and needed to get back on the road. I'm telling you, the smell of weed out front was strong, she and the other woman were out there burning one and she was too stoned to know I'd even gone inside. I could have robbed the place and she'd have been oblivious. As I was leaving I yelled across the parking lot that maybe if she wasn't smoking so much weed she might actually have a clue as to what was going on there. They need better quality employees -- not employees that get so high at work they don't even know when there's a customer in the place wanting to make a purchase.
