Rude attendant! Just filled up here. There was two attendants working while I waited in line. One went on break after they started pumping my gas. No problems so far... You now had one person filling 5 + cars. So when my fill-up finished I thought I'd help her out and removed my line and put the cap back on. At which point the female attendant starting telling me that I couldn't do that and threatened me with a $1k fine. Nevermind she was now ignoring the person she was supposed to be helping. So I guess I won't try to help the next time she's overworked....well actually I'll just not go back to this station.... considering they have a competitor literally across the street, I'd assume they'd train their people on general customer service. I think I'll just use the gas station 50 feet down the road from now on. read more

Brad will only service one car at a time. I waited patiently for my turn. As he approached, I said what I needed. When he was done he walked away. I politely asked for my receipt and he mumbled "dear god" and walked back. Most gas attendants ask if I need a receipt. But he didn't, he just walked and he was pissed I asked him for mine. read more

The other night, my boyfriend (who is African- American) came to this gas station around midnight. We pulled my car up to the second pump to let the car behind us (who were our friends that also needed gas) pull forward. After the attendant started putting gas in our friends car we saw that the pump was out of order. So, we waited until our friends got gas, and then we reversed to the pump behind us. My boyfriend went inside asked the employee for $20 of gas, and the employee said "No I just served you gas get out of here". My boyfriend gives him a weird look, and says "no sir, that was my friends we also need gas". The employee replies "I'm not serving you get out of here". At this point the friends that were behind us went into the store urging my boyfriend to leave because we could all see through the clear glass at this store that something was not right. My boyfriend says "Please, I just need $20 of gas my car is on E, and I have cash right here". The employee picks up the phone, calls 911 and says to the emergency response worker "there is a N***ER harassing me and won't leave my work". My boyfriend comes to the car and we wait there for probably 10 min waiting to see if they came because we have nothing to hide. Then we left, and got gas the next morning. Easy freeway entrances in both directions nearby, close to the bike lane... wait, that doesn't matter. I live in the vicinity. On one corner (Broadway and Grand) sits this Shell station. Dueling it out literally just across the street on the other corner (Broadway and MLK) is a 76 station. So, which do you choose? Well, I have tried both stations, several times. I have to tell you, the better service is over at the 76 station, instead. There's nothing wrong with Shell in particular...I associate them with quality gasoline. But every single time I've come to this station, I have to wait quite a while for anyone to show up. Then they take their sweet time...generally giving off an attitude while walking (slowly) away to chit chat with someone...while I steam in my car awaiting their return so I can drive off feeling ripped off again. So much for full service. Back in the day where I am from (not like I am 90 years old or anything), but back in the Midwest, "full service" was a choice--not forced upon you like it is in Oregon where "service" as a word choice is debatable...if you paid for full service at the gas station, they actually washed your windows, and checked your oil! Those days are long gone, my friends. Now you get to settle for "full service" Shell stations doling out minimal service with bad attitude and high prices. Whatever. I'm driving my bike now, bitches. There is a gas attendant who works here who is a complete blessing (Ken?). On 5/25/17 my cards got shut down because of fraudulent activity without my knowledge, I went to get gas and was unable to run my cards and completely had no options, and being over an hour away from home I started to panic- Ken was thee nicest, even as extremely busy a he was, he still dropped what he was doing to put some cash in my gas tank- just enough for me to make it home. I want to apologize to the morning manger for any problems but it's very rude to push people away who are loyal customers, now idk who said what but I felt someone had said something as I left the store and honestly you need to be more respectful of customers because my feelings was hurt and I'm not a angry person I'm usually happy and have no complaints but Tribal IDs are usable IDs education is important and you need to understand why I'm upset I respectfully disagree with how you came across to me before I can say anything and I never was ever rude to you, I have no problems with anyone there because everyone that works there have been so nice and respectful they have always excepted my ID and I felt totally pushed away in a rude manner I know it's the holidays and you are grumpy but just be more kind to people I'm sorry I gotten upset but I felt I was put in a position of defense and I didn't mean to be upset but you have no idea what it feels like to be hated on or discriminated against constantly because of how I look, I'm not a problem causer but people cause so much problems towards me out of racial discrimination and hatred and I had enough! we live in a generation where we need to all just get along, I don't have nothing against the store or you I'm just upset. These guys saved my ass tonight. After a disappointing experience at 76, I came here looking for some help. I had run out of gas - due to brokeness, not stupidity! 76 was unwilling to help me at all. The guys at Shell were nice enough to loan me a gas can and show me how to use it. After getting a little gas in my car, I returned to give them back the can and use the rest of the change in my purse to put a few more drops in my tank. Both of these guys were so kind and helpful. Why in the world would I ever write a review about a gas station? A question I would have asked until I stopped by the Shell station on Broadway and Grand a couple of months ago. We were greeted by a super-friendly, happy, fun couple of people who seemed genuinely excited to see how we were, wish us a good day, and, GASP, wash our windows and ask if we needed anything else! It felt like being transported back to 'service' stations of the 80s, where you actually got service. Now, I'm not saying that they would have checked my oil or anything, but I'm pretty sure they would have said no in a very friendly way. don't live in the area, but put it in my mind that I needed to find reason to get gas there again. Yesterday I went sort of out of my way to stop and I am thrilled to report I got the same friendly service from two completely different people! I even thought to myself, "wow, these guys must have a great boss or something", because they are by far the happiest, most engaged gas station attendants I have ever met. I don't go here enough to say the less enthusiastic reviews aren't based in reality, but I will continue to actually look forward to getting gas here until I experience something different. Oddly enough, I had a highly pleasant experience at this particular Shell station. After pulling up, Walkine responded promptly and said that he "was here to ensure that my smile stayed on my face". He was absolutely charming, which I was completely not expecting, while out to get gas at 1 in the morning. I'm writing this review mainly to say thank you to Walkine!
