Went here twice this past weekend - none of the employees wear masks. When I asked one of them why he wasnt wearing a mask he gave me some bullshit response about how he is "easy going." I informed him that it was California law and he made an excuse about how his friend was going to be bringing him a mask...yeah, right. Went here to get one gas recently. There are so many reasons to go elsewhere... Gas is $0.75 higher per gal than the places right up the highway on Los Osos valley road. The pumps do not work and you need to go inside and pay. When you go inside the cashier is the rudest person you can ever imagine. For the extra cost you would think things would work and they would be nice to customers. Save your aggravation and go elsewhere. Same some money in the process. read more

I am writing this review not so much for the gas station as I am of the wonderful young woman with a small young boy who was working the counter. My wife and I were staying just up the road at The Cliffs Hotel from this gas station. I immediately knew one of my rear tires were flat with and so we limped our way to the gas station. After realizing the tire was done, we were on the phone with AAA and several local tire stores in the area. The first tire store we called did not have the size I needed but the proprietor upon hearing we needed to be at a wedding in 3 hours called a COMPETITOR to locate and arrange an appointment. All seemed well, until AAA showed up and denied towing my car because it was too low. They also refused to let me use any tools or offer any other solution. I was not happy about that. With two hours remaining I asked the young woman if I could borrow any tools and she let me in back to see what I could find. Amazingly, I found a 17mm socket which was what I needed and asked her if she had a jack. She took me to her car and let me rummage through it to see if I could find one which I could not. In the meantime she was calling friends to see if they could bring me a jack, Long story short, my wife and I made it to the wedding in the nick of time. This young woman and so many other people we met in our short stay really bent over backwards for us, and we wanted to say thank you! Coming from the Bay Area it was really such a pleasant surprise to find people living in a different and more neighborly way, and this young woman exemplified that. This gas station has the most rude and disrespectful service I have ever encountered. The people that work there are so trashy and hateful. They are angry and frustrated at your human existance. The cashiers are complete bullies. I have been bullied on a couple of occassions. My last visit was about a week ago. The cashier was sitting on his phone texting and didn't even look up at me as I was waiting at the counter to be rung up. I finally had to tell him to stop texting and to ring me up. He got pissed off and told me that I was disrespecting him because I was interupting his texting!!! He told me that he didn't need to provide me service or do anything for me... When we were finally ready to pay and headed to the counter, I noticed the cashier had locked us in and was physically blocking the door. He Must've thought we were going to steal or something. We stopped at the Shell gas station in Pismo The gas pumps were so wore out and dirty I didn't wanna put my fingers on them. The screen was very hard to read because the pumps have not been updated in many years. They need to sell the station or update it. read more

This was the most pleasant gas station encounter I can recall. The two guys working there were just truly present, pleasant, helpful, and friendly. The Shell gas station is convenient for access off and on the freeway, but you can never get off and on with the convenience of paying at the pump because the receipt paper is never refilled at the pumps. I always have to go in to the store and ask for them the store has a design that's not customer friendly and you totally lose the convenience of paying at the pump and going back on the road! read more

This gas station is the worst place to go and here's why. I live close by and it's the closest place to get a coffee, gas, snack, etc. I even work sometimes down the street, and this play is always on a "10 min break" that seems to always last way longer. The hours of operation depend on what tweeker is working that day. Open late, close early, and multiple "10 min break" so if you want terrible service, and the possibility of them not even open please go here. read more

Wow. I have to agree with the prior reviews. I was desperate for air in my tires. I went in to get quarters for the air machine. I had looked at the reviews but what could I do. I waited as the first customer in line for between 5-10 min, with people coming in and the door dinging. A man got a coffee put his money on the counter and walked out. Must have been a regular. I wanted to walk but needed the quarters. The clerk did come to the counter eventually and rung up the coffee before giving me change. Must be running an open till. The gas is really expensive. Prices about sixty cents a gallon higher then the average of CA. Don't bother stopping here if you need to use the restroom. They are nasty. There is no soap, the toilets are gross and half of them are out of order. read more

This is a great place .. Everyone that works the counter is super sweet. I live in the neighborhood and go in almost everyday- yes, gas is a little more costly, but you are in a high traffic tourist area that's pretty par for the course..They get crazy busy on weekends and do get overrun with tourist sometimes - but I think the staff does a pretty good job of being friendly to everyone- read more

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. Larry is nice but one clerk, Dean, is the rudest person in customer service I have ever met. Every time I go in there for a drink or gas, he is too busy watching tv or in the back doing I don't know what to even tell me hello or smile at me. I would rather (and will from now on) walk a mile to another gas station just get a soda than even so much as look in the direction of this business. I can't believe that management and ownership lets this kind of poor treatment of the customers occur. They should be ashamed. I could understand if they were unaware but seeing how far back these reviews go, I can tell that making the customers feel like their business is important is NOT a priority here. I work in customer relations so I know it can be difficult sometimes but constant poor treatment has not only LOST my business but spurred me to tell every single person I know to avoid this establishment.
