Ah Buc-ee's. Word…read moreto the wise, prepare to spend some time - this is not the "quick stop" gas station trip. I got lost inside. This Buc-ee's is insanely large and I know it's not the largest in the chain. They have everything you could ever want and more from freshly made food, preserved foods, souvenirs, kitschy things you'd find at a cracker barrel or gift shop, and then what you'd expect from a gas station. Apparently, I fudged by getting the sausage on a stick wrapped in a tortilla. The go-to move is supposed to be to get anything brisket. Rookie mistake on my behalf. I did manage to snag a caramel fudge that I did not regret however! The sausage was rubber and beyond dry. I felt like I was chewing an old balloon and the BBQ sauce didn't help. *This was my fault for not knowing better since they sit out. The bathrooms are super clean. The doors are sealed on the sides with privacy! If you need an OTC medication chances are they have it and it's really affordable compared to CVS or something.

I've been to other Buc-ee's before, this one doesn't seem that big but still has everything you want and crave for! The jerky station lets you sample the jerky prior to buying them. My family was so happy that they got to try everything and they eventually bought 7 different flavors! The lemon pepper and Steakhouse was my favorite flavor of the day! You can never go wrong with their brisket sandwiches and the freshly made chips! They also freshly slice the brisket if you order at least one pound of meat. One challenge we faced was that they overcharged us for additional pound of meat. At first, we were super frustrated because we could not call them to resolve the issue. Also, we were far away from Buc-ee's by then and there is no way we could prove that we did not ate those item. Eventually, we send Buc-ee's an email and they were able to check through video footage that they indeed overcharged us. They did this in less than a day and they were super professional about this matter. It turned from a situation full of frustration to relief. I will definitely bring my other friends and family over again in the future!

I'm obsessed with Buc-ee's! It's a must-stop if you're in Texas. It's a massive travel center, with…read moresome locations having over 100 pumps. They've even expanded beyond Texas to places like Tennessee and Northern Virginia. Everything is kept clean, especially the bathrooms. This particular location is on the smaller side, so I can't even imagine how huge the larger locations are. There's a wide variety of souvenirs from apparel and home goods to even pet items. Towards the back, you'll find a deli, a wall of specialty beef jerky, tons of snacks, plus brisket sandwiches and desserts, including fudge. We ended up spending a good amount of time here before getting back on the road. You can sample the jerky. I really liked the Honey Jalapeño and Maple Cherry (on the sweeter side). And don't leave without grabbing the beaver nuggets!

If you're driving on a Texas highway and see a Buc-ee's sign, exit - even if you don't need gas. My Overall Rating - 4 1/2 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Facility, Return) Atmosphere - Buc-ee's is big, busy, and always crowded. If you're an introvert, I recommend you stay in the car. Walking into a Buc-ees is like walking into a Walmart. Same lighting, same item you can buy, and tons of people. 1/2 Stars. Service - Hats off to the Buc-ee's staff, because while it's always super crowded, I've never had to wait long because there are so many checkout stations and the staff are so nice and helpful. Everyone, from the staff making the BBQ to the fudge counter, everyone is super helpful. 1 Star. Facility - The bathrooms at Buc-ee's have earned legendary status. They're clean, the line moves fast, and it leaves you plenty of time to shop for....ANYTHING. Need pool supplies? Check. Flamin' Hot Cheetos? Check. Cookies? Check. Clothes? Check. You get the idea. The staff chops up fresh brisket sandwiches for you to grab and go. For me? I always grab the sugar roasted pecans. I can eat a cone of these sweet, warm treats in one sitting. Oh, Buc-ee's has gas too. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I'll plan my road trips around spending time at Buc-ee's. It's always a great rest stop where I can refuel my car and my body. 1 Star.

I'm at the counter with my purchase, and some lunatic starts banging on the window behind the cashier and yelling/looking at both of us. The cashier says "Don't worry about him. He's here all the time." I said "Well, he'd better worry about me if he does that when I walk out." And what happened? Mr. "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest" accosted me as I exited the store to the sidewalk. "Give me a beer!" he yelled at me, bowing up and trying to look threatening. "Leave me alone, man. I'll beat your ass right here and now," I responded. So the guy says "Bring it on!" and then circled me and punched me in the shoulder. The teenage me put my stuff down and swung at his face (I missed and hit him in the neck) and then he moved on to the next unsuspecting customer ... just like that. My wife yelled at me after I described what was supposed to be a quick beer and soda run, warning me that the guy could have had a knife. Fine. She had a point. To 7-11: Hire a security person. To anyone in the area who cares: Camp at this location, and please get this guy some help. To potential customers: Carry pepper spray.
