What the hell is wrong with this station? Ever since they completed their (very, very lengthy) renovation and reconstruction, i have been trying to give them some business with limited success. I would think that when one renovates a gas station to make it completely new, one would also install new gas pumps? Not here. The pumps look like they were found in a TJ dump. They are constantly broken or malfunctioning...at any given time at least one is down completely. There are crude signs taped to them claiming that "costumers" can still buy a car wash...oh and that is also usually broken as well. I have a Shell card and 4 out of 10 times it wont work at the pumps. Does the staff care? They do not. Shell is a quality gas company and they should not tolerate such a slack representation of their brand. Get it together already!! Update 2/25/17 More pumps broken! I came for a car wash. I didn't realize until I got home that my car was still dirty. And by dirty I mean the entire back window was covered in dirt still, you could see the finger marks on it. The machine didn't even wash the back. I didn't realize this until I got home and had to drive back to the car wash. The guy gave me another wash and it was still dirty after a second wash. I went here for a carwash. I know I shouldn't expect much from a $5 carwash, but one would think it would leave your car a little cleaner than when you went in. I had a bird dropping on my passenger window, and a spiderweb on my passenger side mirror. I went through the wash, and I noticed that the spinning scrubber brushes on the sides don't actually touch the car. I went in for a refund, and was given a free wash code. I told her it didn't work, and asked why I would want another one? Another lady that worked there got involved, so I brought her out and showed her that there was still bird droppings and spiderwebs on my car. She told me to go through again, and said that if it didn't work again, she would give me a free wash, and gave me the number for the manager to call for a refund (Apparently refunds aren't allowed without the manager... screw good customer service). I went through again, with the same results. I went back inside, to tell them there was no change, only to be told (by the first lady) that they saw it on the video and it worked fine, and that they wouldn't give me another wash. I told her to come look at the bird droppings and spiderwebs, and she refused, and told me I was lying. Screw this place. Their carwash sucks. This shell is a member of Fuel Rewards Network so members save 3 cents per gallon (at least) every time they fill up. Members save more when they do things like dine at member restaurants or shop at member stores. I got 5 cents off because I installed an iPhone app. What makes it better at this Shell station, is that this place already costs about 20-30 cents per gallon LESS than other Shell stations within a 15 mile radius. And it's even cheaper when you get the car wash, although I have not tried it at this station yet. I also like that it has a nice, clean and well-lit Circle K. I stopped my this Shell with my filthy car and empty tank. I purchased gas and a car wash, got my receipt and went to my car. A Shell employee was outside cleaning up and I ask him about the "free vacuum" . I got in my car, got my car washed, pulled off heading north on Valley View. Dissatisfied!!!!! Been content with the service here UNTIL...... I went in to pump gas at night this past week. Told the cashier put X amount of dollars on #8 'WITH' a car wash which gives you an 20 cent off per gallon. So I start pumping and the gas pump stops on it's own at $10.39 I go inside to inform the cashier and states she didn't touch anything to make it stop. I said, ok just restart it so I can fill up my tank. She goes on saying, if I restart it , it won't give you the 20 cent discount off per gallon. At that point I got upset, as anyone would be! I stated, why if it wasn't my error? I DID NOT STOP IT!!!!!! I asked to speak with the supervisor, but of course not available. I grabbed my receipts, because at this point she was not being apologetic nor understanding!! Next day I return hoping to speak with supervisor, again not available. It was 10am and no supervisor. Surprisingly, because he's always there early am and not this time. I explained to the day cashier what happened at night and at least I got some kind of an apology, but still no help! I asked for supervisor/ owner to call me when he got in. It's been 5 days and I'm still waiting!!!!!!! I pump here weekly and last week was the last time I will ever give business to SHELL on Rosecrans/Valley View. It clearly does not make sense that if pump stops on it's own, that the customer should suffer the consequences of poor management, pumps that are probably " fixed" internally to stop to cause the consumer to fall into their schemes. Just went in tonight to get some lottery tickets and was greeted by sour face. Marta was rude when I gave her my tickets to cash in, she said she wouldn't find the code on the ticket and pushed it back at me. I said what are you talking about? She said I'm not doing it. I asked her if she was okay? If she was tired? She mumbled something. I've worked at a convince store before and I swear if my boss ever taught us anything it was not to be rude. Car wash was terrible it stops mid wash leaving my car all soapy. I was forced to call the inside and let them know I was stuck in the car wash. They told me to come in ( I was in my pjs not expecting to get out) and get a new receipt and to try again and then he doesn't even offer to upgrade my car wash from the super wash to their ultimate for the inconvenience. My complaint is about their car wash. So I come here so I can just do a drive thru car wash since every place takes a long time to wash your car. I go to the drive thru which has an option of putting in a wash code or paying by credit card or atm. So the credit card/ATM feature does not work so you have to go in which defeats the purpose of having the credit card , convenience, feature in the first place. I tell the attendant and she like " yeah, it's not hooked up." She just laughs. I said then you should take that feature off or post it. She had the look like she can care less. I purchased car wash at the gas station and tried to get into the car wash line and then found out it was out of service. I don't live in the city I don't come to this route very often so I requested a refund. The cashier Rose said she could not refund my money without the manager's approval and he would be coming back until the next day. I told her it would be hard for me to come back and did not see any "out of service" signage. She insisted that there was a signage for out of service notification. I had to wait for her to clear all the customers at the store and we both walked outside and verified there was a small signage with grey text on white paper above the pump not near where the credit card inserts. Who would pay attention to a small white signage that's placed on white background. they should've warned customers with a reasonable effort before they charge the customer. I visited this gas station recently to fill up and get a wash. As the car was getting washed it malfunctioned and broke off the antenna of my car. I told the cashier, left my name, number and email with her and returned the following morning to provide proof of damage to the manager. Right off the bat, unpleasant facial expressions, rude tone of voice, unprofessional actions with his hands, a condescending tone and dirty looks. As I proceeded to explain what happened, he kept repeating himself saying 'it's not supposed to touch your car! If you want we can go through with mine and I'll show you what I mean! It's not suppose to break anything!' He continued repeating himself as if, I was too stupid to understand. I replied angrily and said 'I understand what you mean, but I DO NOT care about YOUR car. It malfunctioned and did it to MINE. Go watch the tape boss, it's not my fault' as we entered the store he turned to me and said 'do not give me attitude' um HELLO? I was a P.O'd customer! I was well within my rights to be angry. As he watched the tapes in the back room, I could see him straight, staring at me giving me THE dirtiest looks! He said he called his boss and that the offices would contact me for repairs. Few days later I arrive at the location and they sent me to a freaking jiffy lube. Dumber yet, in that same center were DOZENS of body shops! I don't know what was going through this mangers head, but he phenomenally fails with customer service and you'd think Shell being one of the nations too self serving gas stations, they would put their best foot forward. I asked the manager for his supervisors number and he went simply refused to give it to me, hence this review. I truly hope someone for headquarters takes my complaint seriously and keeps this punk manager in check! 3 WEEKS later and I'm still waiting for a refund for the wash-n-damage it gave my car and STILL waiting on this guy to repair my car! On top of all that the manager didn't even remember my name, such poor manners and even worse handling customers overall.
