After coming back from an Uber trip from across the street at the CVS location today, I know I needed gas. I knew I had my Fuel Rewards card and I saw this Shell station. But what I didn't expect I'd get out of my visit was a 10 cent off per gallon discount right at the pump. This was the third time in the last month that I've been at a Shell location, and to have saved that much, I was expecting to have it not happened on this visit - I was more or less "surprised" than angry.
While I'm thankful that your location was here when I did pay at the pump with my Fuel Rewards and debit card (put through as debit) when I had a problem trying to figure out the process again for Fuel Rewards (and going around the Alternate ID) it took several attempts to get things right - I wasn't at the right place at he right time, so I was a little frightened when things happened the way they did. And what makes things worse, is unlike any other gas station terminal, if you had tried to swipe your card but weren't using your card as debit, you'd be expecting to be asked to go inside to take care of things...if you used your debit card as DEBIT at pump 2, you were good to go...that's not right and you wouldn't have seen that happen at any other location...regardless of gas station brand you'll stop at.
Glad that I was able to fill up, but after that, I had to head home. Thanks for being there, but that was an unfair stop with problems at the pump that I - the customer- shouldn't have encountered. The program might have saved me about a $1.09 over the price other people would have paid, but it sure didn't save me time that I could have had for myself. read more
