It's fine, really. I mean, this is a Shell station like many others. Things I will comment on are the parking pad, the traffic situation, the staff and the prices.
First, the parking situation. There is plenty, but the way in and out of it is treacherous. If you have a low-slung car, take it slow and go at an angle because it is pretty steep in places.
Second, the traffic. As other yelpers have stated, this place is virtually impossible to get out of onto South shades Crest toward Helena or in from the same direction. Coming in and out on 150 is much easier, but I seldom see people going that direction from the station.
Third, the service. I have always had a good experience with the attendants here. They are courteous and efficient. They deal with difficult customers with patience, but I wish they could open another line when that situation arises.
Last but not least, the pricing. In short, this is in Hoover, so it is higher than the prices at similar places in Bessemer or McCalla, but still not outrageous. Worth it for the convenience if you live on this side of town. read more
