Horrible company to work for! Don't allow your children to work there. Management is too busy…read moresocializing and selling their own "at home made" goods instead of helping the staff stock shelves or check customers out. The cashiers can not keep water to drink at their registers even though it's part of their jobs to constantly speak and move in a swift manner assuring the customers get through the line in a timely manner as to not hold up the lines. They only get a lunch break if working more than 6 hours and NO breaks most times for working less than 6 hours. If given a break it's only 1 fifteen minute break in a 6 hour work shift. The staff gets in trouble for going to the bathroom. Which is why I'm sure they don't let them keep something to drink near them. There is unfair pay. Long time dedicated employees are barely making above minimum wage while new hires get hired at $11.00-$12.00/ hour. Employees are expected to stay at the store in their departments off the clock without pay until the next shift worker goes in. Overtime is NOT allowed! There is obvious favoritism by the store manager. You must be his ethnicity in order to be treated with respect and appreciation. He is known to name call the young ladies "Ho" for speaking to male staff. Reporting theft to the manager does no good. It's ignored completely. He'd rather allow theft than to have to do the physical work himself while waiting to hire a replacement. The entire front end management spends more time socializing with one another and customers than they do helping the cashiers managing the line. The store trainer is the worse example of an employee. Training new hires yet allowing them to struggle while she is constantly talking to whoever she can get to listen to her instead of working. An absolutely poor example for a store trainer. There isn't anybody to complain too about these conditions. When calling corporate office to complain, you're given another number which is the incorrect number. Do not allow your children to work there. This is a bad example of employment and not how the real world works.

Your basic Aldi store, coming from someone with exactly one prior Aldi experience in Tomball. It's…read morebuilt on the corner of a dilapidated and otherwise empty Kmart lot, which makes for a lonely environment. Aldi probably seized on the fire sale. This one seems more poorly organized than my previous Aldi experience, with the food items scattered about the store on different aisles. The general merchandise was somewhat tossed about in the designated areas. I wouldn't say it was dirty, just disheveled, and didn't make the best impression. There was a lot of stocking going on for a Memorial Day afternoon with several shoppers in the store. Navigating the narrow aisles with stocking carts blocking the way became problematic. One shopper on a mobility scooter had to ask staff for help getting to items blocked by the stocking carts. I found what I needed here--more than I wanted, and at generally good prices. I couldn't shop perishables due to distance from home, so I can't comment on those items. I found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful, but there aren't many opportunities for interaction in this mostly self-service grocery. All-in-all, glad I stopped here, but I probably won't do it again because there are locations closer to me that make more sense. This time it just happened to be on my route, so I took advantage of the opportunity.

Some things to know about Aldi. There's usually no more than 2 people working at a time, you're not…read moregoing to see fancy merchandising, and you bag your own groceries. This allows them to save money and pay their employees more. You also need a quarter for a shopping cart which you get back when you return it. This saves on labor as well. The prices are great. They carry a lot of nice German foods at the holidays. The chocolate is high quality. Often there are some crazy good deals. If you see something you like grab it because it may be gone the next time you're in. We love Britney. She's such a friendly cashier. Aldi it great, especially if you know what to expect.
