I only went to Circle K because it was on the same side of the street I was on and they posted the same prices as Star. The money isn't the issue. It's the closest one to my place of employment and happens to be on my daily route. It's usually fairly priced and they have received a lot of my business over the last few years. Fast forward to tonight. I just got off after working a long shift in a stressful environment. I noticed I was running low on gas so of course I pulled to get some gas and race home. As I pulled up, I did what most people do and checked my cellphone. I had a miss call from a relative I hadn't heard from for awhile. So I called them, anxious to catch up. However, I was not expecting to hear what I heard next. With heaviness and grief in their tone, they explained that I had just lost someone very close. I had a bit of a meltdown and obviously did not jump out of my car right away to start pumping gas. It was the furthest thing from my mind. I lost track of time and about twenty minutes later, an employee walked out and started yelling for me to get out of there. I was a bit shocked. There were plenty of other pumps open and I was clearly in distress. Before I could even get my window down, she started walking off. I called to her to speak with me but she completely blew me off. I did not have the energy to get gas at that point and really should have not even been driving with the amount of emotional distress I was in. But after being yelled at and then not listened to, I drove off and found somewhere else to pull over. When I pulled myself together, I looked up the shell and called to speak with a manager. Instead, I was greeted by Cathy, the employee who had just treated me very poorly. I asked to speak with a manager but she said none was available. So I started explaining the situation and she said that she was the one who demanded I leave. Instead of responding compassionately or even showing a thread of humanity, she defended her actions saying "I'm running a business and you looked like a drug dealer". I have never been confused for a drug dealer. If she would have not completely blown me off in the middle of my crisis, maybe she would've known that. I just wanted an apology, but instead I got yelled at, again. Admittedly, I lost it at that point and used some choice words. I have never been treated so disrespectfully in my entire life. I will NEVER go back to this gas station again. I sincerely hope that a manager calls me back but I doubt that I will hear from them based on the other reviews of this place. Please, do not support this business any longer. Staffing is a direct reflection of the leadership, and a cashier who isn't willing to even speak to a customer after literally yelling at them and accusing them of being a drug dealer, is probably reflective of reckless management that doesn't really care about their customers, only their bottom line.
