Fuller's Car Wash of Elk Grove - Look at the dust

Fuller's Car Wash of Elk Grove

The inside and outside looked great. Decided to bring in my wife's (14) year old Camry Thursday that admittedly has never been cared for properly by her. They buffed the car for 1/2 hr, waxed the exterior for a 1/2 hr, and did an interior Spiff for 1/2 hr. with floor mats cleaned, plus head light restoration. For under $300 and in 1 1/2 hrs, the Camry looked like Toyota Showroom sharp inside and out! My wife was shocked on how nice the car looked.

I hate writing negative reviews, but I have to be honest about my experience…read more I went to Fuller's yesterday because my car desperately needed a clean after a long winter (and three kids... snacks and all ). I first stopped at the Algonquin location, but they only offered a $100 interior package, which just wasn't what I was looking for. As I was leaving, a kind employee recommended the Higgins location, saying they had more options, so I drove about 5 minutes over to that location. I used to go to Fuller's all the time before the $3 car wash opened near my house, and I always had great experiences in the past. At Higgins, I was glad to see they still offered a package similar to what I used to get for around $40 (now about $50 with an extra $10 for mats). Totally fair, i knew my mats were rough and full of grime. There were about 4-5 people working on my car, and it took around 15 minutes, which seemed reasonable. I was honestly expecting my car to come out looking fresh and clean. At least wiped down. Unfortunately... it didn't. I was upset the further I drove away. When I got my car back, it was still dirty. The mats were wet but still had caked-on dirt and salt once they dried. The dash and windows looked untouched, and it didn't seem properly vacuumed at all. I genuinely found myself wondering what was actually done during the service. To be fair, the gentleman who helped me was very nice and even suggested a deeper interior clean. I still tipped because of his kindness but for $50, I really expected a much better result. It's disappointing because I've had much better experiences with Fuller's in the past. Based on this visit, I would recommend either going elsewhere or considering a higher end self-service if you're expecting a true clean. My advice: go elsewhere.

I gave them a call; I could see the waiting room was empty but there didn't seem to be instructions to enter your car, the car doors were closed, nor was there a place to pull in, so I thought perhaps it was appointments only. The guy who answered sounded exasperated when I asked if it was appointments or drop in, and said he had a lot of cars. Ok.... well, that didn't answer my question, but I get it. You don't want to answer the phone and/or wash my car, so I'll go elsewhere. Someone else drove up, seeming equally confused, and drove off after a minute or so. Just before I left I saw a third car pull up and the guy went inside and I think he left behind me, too, without service. So I'm not sure how this place works and I'm not sure they're all that friendly to customers given my experience when I was seeking service.

The first time in forever where getting my car detailed was painless throughout the whole process…read more Everything was simple from getting a quote, to scheduling, to dropping off my car, and a bonus ride from Stefan back to my house! The 5 star rating comes from this detailer going above and beyond and the extreme attention to detail before I even brought my car in to the moment I drove it out. I came to get a ceramic coating on 2021 vehicle that was less than a week old. Stefan removed all the scratches from the Toyota "dealership car wash". It's crazy how my car looks newer after a week than the day I bought it! The ceramic coating makes the black paint look very deep and brings out more detail the metallic flake in the paint has. After my detail & ceramic coating I spent a while looking my car up and down from every single angle trying to find a single imperfection. There wasn't a single one... As a car enthusiast I've had 100's of details but this is the first where I haven't notice a spot that was glossed over. Every single inch received the full treatment. I'll be coming back for regular maintenance in the winter and definitely referring people to come check this place out.

But I'm…read moreposting this because owners of dark-colored or luxury vehicles should be aware of a real issue. Over time, I started noticing light scratches and swirl marks appearing on my car's paint -- especially visible because my car is black. After paying close attention, it became clear that the wash process itself is likely responsible. The microfiber "tentacles" that physically scrub the car seem to collect debris, and when that debris gets dragged across the surface, it leaves marks in the clear coat. That kind of slow damage is hard to notice at first -- but on a luxury vehicle, it becomes expensive to correct. For the price of the membership, I expect more focus on equipment maintenance and paint-safe procedures. There's no touchless option here, and unfortunately it's starting to show on the vehicle. If the wash system were cleaned more frequently or if they offered a safer alternative, I'd gladly stay a customer. I'm posting this hoping management takes it seriously. If nothing changes, I'll have to cancel my subscription and move to a touchless or hand-wash service elsewhere. This place has potential -- but not at the cost of damaging the paint on a car like mine.

All services are hand wash & dry, and there are the ususal amount of choices to ensure that you get what you need and spend what you want. There were several people working on my car at once and they all seemed to have the same committment to detail and quality. There are 4 bays and many people working there. There is a central tip box at the counter where I paid so I felt no awkwardness about remembering who did what to my car! Though it's been nearly a year since it opened, the interior of this enclosed establishment is very clean and looks brand new. I got the 2nd package for the SUV at $55 which is a very fair price. I'll do package 3 next time which includes a nice waxing. The staff is friendly, calm, and well dressed. It's also a small crew which shows efficiency to me. The amount of time spent on vacuuming the interior was outstanding! In addition, I accidentally dropped a set of keys. Thank goodness the crew found it and kept it safe for pick up. Although, I'll be moving to Chicago soon, I am 100% committed to Erdens.
