Despite remaining calm and attempting to remove myself from the confrontation, I was treated as though I was a threat. I am deeply offended by what I believe was racial profiling and the implication that I was somehow dangerous simply because I am a Black man. No customer should ever be made to feel that way while trying to make a purchase. To make matters worse, Shonte' refused to provide her name when I requested it, and I had to obtain it from another employee. I have already contacted RaceTrac Corporate and requested a formal investigation, including a review of the security footage from that morning. This was one of the most unprofessional and upsetting experiences I have ever had at a convenience store. RaceTrac should hold its management team to a much higher standard.

I stopped by this QT to fill up after visiting nearby Smoke Rise Country Club. In general, I'm a fan of QTs because they have reasonably priced Top Tier gas, plenty of pumps, and relatively clean gas stations and convenience stores. This is an older QT. You can tell by the design of the building. I guesstimate it's been around at least 10 years, maybe double. However, even the older QT stores have been retrofitted over the years to feature the nicer "QT Kitchens" brand food and drink including this one. There are 24 pumps at this station. I used pump 8 and it was in OK condition. It was showing its age as the displays were hard to read. I couldn't tell if one of the digits in the price was a 5 or a 6 -- the effects of LCD burn-in. Like all QTs, this one is open 24/7 and has free air for your tires.

After my early check-in, I sat in the waiting area for about two hours, watching and listening to the manager interacting with customers. My observations? Friendly, matter-of-fact, clear. Andy explained everything going on with his client's cars. He made recommendations, and more importantly, noted what didn't need to be done. He gave accurate representations about when services would be completed. For my car, he got the part quickly and told me they had looked over the whole car and only found one repair that needed to be made (besides my originating situation). He was accurate in his honesty, because I already knew I was needing a new rear brake job in the next month. While my car was being repaired, I walked around downtown Decatur. I reacquainting myself with some old, and mostly new, businesses and restaurants. I arrived back at the repair shop in the mid-afternoon, just after they finished repairing the car. They are located on Lavista road across from Best Buy off the interstate exit. Always helpful staff at all the locations that I have purchased fuel from recently. Most of the times they have the cheapest gas around the area and seemed to be pretty good too. The pumps were all under a covered shelter, so you don't have to worry about the elements. The place is always nice and cleanly maintained. From outside the interior of the store is brightly lit and inviting. They do have a ATM machine, Air Pump, and clean bathrooms. Oh there is a Domino's Pizza connected to this store to make the stop more rewarding for pizza lovers. Here the staff members are very friendly and helpful.
