But I had managed to let my tank run too far down and I did not want to run out of gas today. So here we are at this convenient station just off I-285. Two of the pumps were out of service which tends to be annoying when you're driving a vehicle that has a turning radius that approximates the State of North Dakota. So after one big circle, I was able to line up at a pump, run my credit card and purchase 21 gallons of fuel (the Sprinter van technically holds 24.5 but she was whining about "reserve") before I was out and on my way. The pump area is clean and there was no trash. It's a busy place and I would recommend being very aware of your surroundings. When I talk to the corporate office, the guy was very sympathetic to my issue. However he said they can't afford to hire security 24 seven. But I'm thinking you probably make 10 grand an hour, how could you not have security to make sure that the homeless people don't take the value of the store down. Then when I go into the store the East Indian looking guy behind the glass asked me weird questions rather than simply asking for my ID after I clearly described my card and the name on it. This smacks of racism in Black communities by outsiders. I'm glad they had my card but they need to update their pumps, get a working phone number, and ask more appropriate questions in these instances, especially since this is largely a Black community. I doubt he'd ask the pump number I used if I were White or East Indian. The store was filthy and had some area blocked off apparently for video gambling.
