I have heard all kinds of glowing reviews of nofrills stores all over the Vancouver area so when I…read moreheard there was a nofrills in Surrey and I was heading to Surrey I thought I would check it out. I am not sure if there are certain days that you should check these stores out or what but I was not impressed. Half the shelves were empty. The produce area had a good selection of Veggies but the fruit selection was pathetic. We got some frozen fruit just to get some fruit. Most of the deals that were advertised were sold out so we really did not save much money at all. I miss having actual bakeries and delis and the such. I may check out other locations at some time but I was thoroughly unimpressed with this location. If I have to pay a bit more to get everything I am looking for and get freshly cut deli meat I guess I will have to keep going to Save On Foods or Safeway. I will not be a repeat customer of this location for sure.

We went on the second day after grand opening and the place was super packed. We have noticed they had a lot of Indian specialty items. The isles are very wide. Prices were definitely cheaper. There is a giant parking lot out front. Another great thing about Freshco is that they are beside the bus loop. Super convenient. We are happy this place opened up. The aisles are organized decently, prices are fair, and it's usually not too crowded. I like that they carry brands you don't see at regular grocery stores, like certain hot pot bases and instant noodle flavors. Only downside -- kinda sad there's not much hotpot meat selection I wish they had more thinly sliced beef and lamb options. But overall, still a good go-to for Asian ingredients without having to drive too far out.
