Peninsula Co-op - The entrance to your car's spa!

Peninsula Co-op

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE This review is just for the touchless…read morecar wash - it's just OK - if you're needing a quick wash of very light grime (say, normal post-rain residue that's been there for a week or less) and don't want brushes on your car, this can do in a pinch. Otherwise, I would recommend another car wash place with brushes (if you're OK with that on your ride), as all Co-op locations use the same Laserwash touchless system that is mediocre in its results (and I've chosen the top-end Volcano wash every time). === 2. CAR WASH Good: - Only if you have very light grime on your car. - There are two high pressure sprayers at the entrance which you drive through that spray the lower body and wheels. - (Note: they are ineffective for grime on paneling, but they could be OK for the wheels - it's just that I've always used the brush and bucket outside the car wash first to scrub down the wheels.) - The moving head unit includes the dryer, so you don't have to "time" yourself when driving out the exit to get every second of drying time - you simply stay in your car for the entire wash and drive off when done. Not-So-Good: - There is only moving arm that sprays liquids of any sort and it seems to only do half the car each pass - is that partially why the wash is ineffective? - (Note: I've visited three other Co-op locations and they all do that.) - I have a four-door sedan and the drying time is never enough - there is always water left on my windshield and hood when the wash is done. === 3. SERVICE It's been professional at all Co-op locations (you need to pay inside first - slightly cheaper if you fill up your tank first - and then punch in a code when you get to the car wash). Never an issue with customer service; my concern has always been the quality of the car wash.

Co-op Gas Bar

Co-op Gas Bar

This review is of the Co-op gas bar only!! I am a small business owner in Victoria, and have been…read morefor 43 years. As part of my business i use Co-op for fuel (diesel and gas) and i go there to refuel twice a week and sometimes three times a week. As a small business owner i realize the importance of being available to "do business" between certain times. Especially when you state to the public your business is open from a certain time to a certain time. I understand that sometimes things happen say like special holidays or whatever and you have no choice to "close your doors" a bit early, maybe because there are no customers and maybe because its snowing out and it may be unsafe for your employees to get home themselves or what ever.... BUT a gas station that is supposed to be a "Co-op", meaning owned by the community of the "Co-op", and two younger guys that are employees of the Co-op shutting down 10 minutes early, and even though three different Co-op members trying to get the fuel from the "Co-op" they belong to, are ALL turned away?? I myself even tried to explain that i was almost out of diesel and if your diesel truck runs out you cant just "get a Jerry can" and put some in, because diesel engines need to be purged by a qualified mechanic if the run out. As i tried to explain my situation to the young guy with glasses, (and i have nothing against glasses or anything, I'm just making sure the people that do go to this place will know who i am talking about!) Just throws his arms up in the air and says, "oh well".!? NOT COOL, and when i ask him what time they close, and he says 9:00pm, and i say " its only 8:49pm!?!?, and that i will be notifying head office and will be taking my business else where from now on, and that I was a Co-op member that needed fuel That was a regular there, he replied by saying "I DON'T CARE!" Really not cool.... So when people read this, and his boss notices less "business" at his location and wonders why, and when Head office of Co-op tells him why, and that they found out from an unhappy member that his employee that worked there tonight (April 2,2013) that wears glasses, told a well paying MEMBER that "he didn't care!",. Maybe when he maybe loses his job to show the three paying members that were turned away that night that the elected good people at the Co-op head office actually DO CARE ABOUT THE THREE DIFFERENT PAYING MEMBERS, maybe then, the gas station attendant that had a GOOD job serving the GOOD PAYING MEMBERS of Co-op, will think about what he lost and MAYBE at that point HE WILL CARE!!!! I dunno, just a thought of an unhappy Paying, small business owner, Co-op member.....

Island Hardware & Supply

This store is a life saver!…read more We are contractors and had a job on Orcas Island. We had never been to Orcas before and were unfamiliar with the area. Before we set out for the island, I looked up local hardware stores (just in case). I found Island Hardware & Supply, called them to make sure they would have what we MIGHT need, hopped in the truck and got on the ferry. OF COURSE it turned out that we DID need some items, so we set off for the Hardware store. We got lost and ended up at the little hardware store in East Sound - we thought we were at the right store, but they didn't have any of the supplies we needed. We were pretty confused until I found out from a local resident that the little hardware store in East Sound is on North Beach Road, and the big hardware store (Island Hardware) is on West Beach Road. So we hopped back in the truck again, and set out to find Island Hardware. (yes, we got losat again...but eventually figured it out) We were so relieved when we located the store and were able to purchase the supplies we needed, because we were thinking that we would have to get on the ferry and drive to the home depot in Mt Vernon (that would have taken forever). Island Hardware had all the stuff we wanted, lumber, tools, big bolts, lag screws, plumbing supplies etc. They even have a couple of little gas pumps which was handy for us. We had the occassion to go back up to Orcas for round two of the job which was exterior painting. The paint we purchased needed to be re-tinted at the last minute. We remembered that Island Hardware had a paint department and took the buckets of paint to them with our fingers crossed. Even though we didn't buy the paint from them, they happily re-tinted it for us...I thought that was pretty generous and excellent customer service!
