They show me some oil outside of the valve cover gasket. But no active leak. An excessive leak would mean that oil is actively leaking. So I should have seen oil on my garage floor or smoke coming from the engine but neither are the case. And honestly I'm sure these are common tactics that plenty of mechanics use but don't make it like my cars breaking down when I know it isn't. I just bought it a few months ago and had it looked at. I'm also a fireman so I've seen plenty of broken down and leaking cars. Now I will wipe the outside of the valve cover gasket clean and we'll see if there's even a slight leak let alone an "excessive leak"

I said bye and went to the other place 3 minutes away, passed my inspection and got my sticker. Junior made me pay 100 dollars to get me car released, after having done no work. He quoted me close to 900 when another shop did it for 400. He had me flagged in the system so I couldn't get my car fixed by anyone but him. I found a shop, who knew what he was up to and was able to do it. But in the meantime I got two tickets. Sooo, Junior cost me 100 straight cash for nothing and 120 in tickets. Let alone headache after headache. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP.

Took car in for nys inspection and asked how long will it take? before looking at the car the…read moreperson who greeted me in the empty garage on a Friday afternoon said they need to do a full inspection and IF the car passes inspection he would call me I asked a different way , I said well seems a little slow how long if you do the inspection right now the test usually takes 15 mins or less again his response was if you pass inspection. This seemed very odd to me and gave me a different feeling like he knew something that he couldn't have know. Long story short they failed my car And quoted me $600 for back brake pads because they were low and a passenger side mirror crack. I took my car to my usual mechanic who is generally extremely busy, which is why I did not go to him for the inspection. My usual mechanic said my brake pads are low, but not low enough to fail me. They would have to be metal on metal to fail the test and as far as the side passenger mirror, I had one in my car so I had him fix my brakes because they were low anyway, and it was $200 for the front and back not 450 for just the back. Prospect auto repair is a rip off. I go to a nice man on 65th St. between 13th and 14th Ave. please check them out. There's also another very good one on 35th St. and third Avenue.
