My Personal Experience
Hello, my name is Francisco, and I want to share my personal experience with Cortney, Heather, and Levon. In 2018, I experienced sexual harassment while working for an organization where I had been employed for three years. The situation involved explicit photographs and videos being sent to me. What started as something I never expected to experience eventually became serious enough that I had to leave a job I genuinely loved.
At the time, I didn't know what I was doing or where to turn. I was trying to understand my rights while also dealing with the emotional impact of everything that had happened.
As a gay man, I was especially nervous about finding attorneys who would understand my experience and take my concerns seriously. I wasn't looking for special treatment. I wanted someone who would listen, believe me, and be willing to stand beside me.
That's when I found Cortney and Heather.
From the very beginning, they treated me with compassion, respect, and professionalism. They listened to me. They answered my questions. Most importantly, they never made me feel like I was alone.
There was never a moment when I felt like I was being told, "No, we can't help you."
Instead, I heard:
"Yes, we're going to work through this."
"Yes, we're going to support you."
"Yes, we're going to do everything we can."
"Yes, your concerns are valid."
Those words meant so much to me during a time when I was scared and uncertain about my future. This is was the first time I understood the true meaning of value.
Cortney and Heather fought for me, advocated for me, and helped me navigate a situation I had never experienced before. They didn't just look at the legal side of what I was going through--they recognized that there was a real person behind the case.
I also want to recognize Levon.
Levon was the litigator who helped prepare me for what was ahead. He made sure I understood what to expect and helped me feel prepared rather than afraid. Having someone there to stand beside me and make sure I was supported made a tremendous difference.
Together, Cortney, Heather, and Levon became three people I will never forget.
I am sharing this because I know there are other people who may be experiencing something similar and may be afraid to speak up. You may be LGBTQ+. You may be heterosexual. You may simply be someone who has never had to deal with a situation like this before and doesn't know where to begin.
Please don't be afraid to ask for help.
You don't have to have all the answers. You don't have to know exactly what your rights are. You don't have to know what the next step is.
Start with a conversation.
And if you do seek legal guidance, document everything you can. Save messages, emails, photographs, dates, and other information that may help explain what happened. I learned how important it is to keep records and communicate openly with your attorneys.
It took me a long time to write this review. I was dealing with a lot in my personal life and had family and other circumstances that made it difficult to revisit everything I had experienced.
But I eventually realized that sharing my story might help someone else take that first step.
Life can sometimes knock you down harder than you ever expected. But you have to keep fighting.
For me, Cortney, Heather, and Levon were there during a chapter of my life when I needed people in my corner.
I will always be grateful for that.
If you're hesitant to make that phone call, make it anyway. Ask the questions. Tell your story. Give yourself the opportunity to be heard.
Thank you, Cortney, Heather, and Levon, for listening to me, supporting me, and standing beside me when I needed it most read more
