tldr; Midas wanted to charge more than double for a repair, lied and tried to sell financing to do…read moreit. I'm from Morgantown, WV. My alternator began having trouble just before this exit Friday night. I got a room for the night at the Quality Inn and popped over to Midas the next morning, Veterans Day, so I thought it was my only option. They quoted $983.03 for the alternator and serpentine belt, claimed it was about to catch on fire, and insisted that I couldn't drive it more than three miles safely and would need to purchase their financing to pay for this. They said the parts would be $619.98, which I knew wasn't true so before opting for a tow, I drove to the Napa down the street. Napa sold me a new alternator and belt for $390.53 and said they trusted another shop in town that was open, behind the Walmart. That shop, Tire Source, charged $109.46 rather than the $247 quoted by Midas. We took the alternator core back to Napa for a $77 refund and a box of donuts as a thank you. Midas quoted $983.03 but the repair total ended up being $422.99. As a side note, it took me five minutes to eyeball the situation at 10pm on the side of your interstate but around five dudes and an hour to play around with it at Midas. I'm accustomed to my mechanic behaving like he knows what he's doing and not making wild claims, but maybe I'm picky. Attached are four photos. The quote from Midas and a photo of my text authorization from them with slightly different part costs listed (did they record a quote different from what they told me?) The receipt for parts and the refund for core return from Napa. The labor receipt from Tire Source. I've redacted identifying information but left my car details for anyone curious. Descriptions included with photos.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Kinney's Towing and Tim!! I hit a deer on a Saturday evening on 30W…read morein the Massillon area, about 2 hours from where I live in Columbus. I activated my roadside assistance through my insurance which was a headache to say the least. The first company they dispatched did not pick up my car, after 2 hours of waiting they said "they couldn't find the car" and cancelled the request. After jumping through several phone calls and frustrations with my insurance, Kinneys Towing was dispatched. I called right away to explain where my car was, and that I'm unfamiliar with the area but I did have a pin dropped. The dispatcher was so kind and understanding in helping to locate the correct area. As soon as I hung up, Tim the tow driver called me. He also listened as I tried to best explain where was my car was in an unfamiliar area. He called me once we located my car, once it was loaded and again when he had secured the car in their lot for the night, sending a picture along as well! After the scare of getting in an accident, being away from home and the headache of AI bots through my insurance, a thank you to Tim and Kinneys isn't big enough! Their kindness and update truly gave me piece of mind! I hope I never need a tow in the Akron/canton area again, but if I do, I will call Kinneys directly! I am so appreciative for their service!!

They were in fact on time and did the job. The reason why I would only give them three stars is because the driver was extremely rude. He did not say hello. He did not address me in anyway if he ask him a question and he seemed extremely annoyed. I don't know if this is because it's a Sunday afternoon he didn't feel like working or what his personal problems were. I was never given them the man's name, and he never introduced himself.

The only bad thing about owning a Honda in the Youngstown area?…read more This place is kind of far away. The local Honda dealer is shady on both ends (sales and service), so I refuse to do any business with them. This place always treated me honestly and respectfully, from the first visit to buy the car to bringing it in for scheduled service while I owned it. I've since traded there car in, but if I lived closer and was interested in another Honda, I'd definitely do business here again.

Heinen's Hudson Sushi Department…read more Apparently, Heinen's sushi preparers would rather LOSE customers than make a fresh sushi roll! What an astonishing way to run a business! Ask for freshly prepared sushi and you're met with rude, dismissive attitudes and directed to previously prepared rolls instead. The Golden Tempura Roll is especially disappointing, with shrimp that's often cold, hard, or mushy. Since when did crispy tempura become optional at premium prices? In today's economy, EVERY dollar matters! Customers are strategically deciding where to spend every cent while businesses are open one day and shuttered the next. Yet this department treats paying customers like inconveniences and lost sales like they don't matter. Heinen's reputation for quality means little when the service and product fail to reflect it. Businesses don't survive because customers NEED them. They survive because customers CHOOSE them. And your employees are giving customers every reason to choose somewhere else!
