I wasn't in a hurry and I wanted to see some things I hadn't seen before. In order to do that, I needed to fill up my gas tank. Enter GetGo. I haven't been to this area in a while and had no clue that a GetGo had opened. I tend to lean towards their gas more and more when in the area. Pulling in this is a fairly large lot which accommodates many vehicles. Lots of pumps so getting gas is not a problem. After fueling up my car I made my way inside. I wanted to grab a few things before I hit the road the rest of the way. I was happy to see that they offer greeting cards since I was in need of one, cut out another stop along my way. I picked one out, got myself a gift card from their small selection that covers many different items, got a drink and made my way to the register. This location, much like the newer ones, now has a self checkout register. That does make a faster experience, but I did not go this route. The employee I interacted with was very polite. Made things go a lot smoother for me. I actually liked this location as it helped me avoid another stop on the way home.

While this is the "American" gas station now and no longer a Sunoco (after Sunoco withdrew support…read moredue to the included billboard messages), I would walk across four lanes on US-422 traffic to get fuel if I ran out of gas in front of this station. I've been inside a few times before the owner started using his electronic billboards for displaying horrible messages, and none of the experiences have been anything but underwhelming. The billboards are now icing on the cake. The owner may boast about being an American, but his messages clearly aren't welcoming to anyone who doesn't agree with his extremist ideals.

But there is old fashioned call ahead ordering or walk-in order and wait. As far as convenience stores go, this one is up there. I trust their food quality and there consistency is pretty good. I have noticed one change since the new ownership, they don't use styrofoam to go containers anymore. Which is cool for the environment. On nice days you can order and eat on a few of the covered picnic tables outside, but BEWARE watch your head near the columns are supports that come low. (I am clumsy so maybe it's just me.) I love their hefty Stromboli too, it's great for sharing or leftovers. Ben's Monty is another unique tasty sandwich, with french toast for sandwich bread served with maple syrup. I haven't come close to trying everything they offer, so I can't speak for everything. I do know I'd be willing to bet it's on par with the rest of the stuff I've tried. Oh, and I should note: there is a miniumn credit card purchase required. Bring cash if spending is low.

Cashier very friendly as well and I was sweating up a storm and still panting from a night trail run. Gas price was actually cheaper than the last major gas station chain Earlier. I'm sure no one is going to go out of there way for gas or milk but if you see this and you're in need stop in and support an authentic Mom and Pop old school deli and gas station.
