While this wasn't our first choice for lunch, we are glad we stopped here! Didn't want to wait in line at the famous restaurant near the hardware store, and we were hungry. When we walked into Sheetz, we heard a staff member say hello. After a quick trip to the restroom, we walked to the kiosk and easily ordered some food. Walked over to the self-serve soft drinks, and filled two large cups with iced tea. The cashier rang our order up quickly, and smiled when thanking us for stopping by Sheetz. She also asked if we needed anything else. Within a few minutes, we received our food. The sandwiches were really good. My spouse liked the chicken sandwich. The chicken was a good size and moist. My sliders were very good. They tasted great but I wish there was a little more cheese in them. The iced teas were refreshing. We ate inside at one of their tables. I'm really glad we ate lunch here! read more

Our first stop was Sheetz after our friends picked us up from the Akron-Canton airport. We needed some beer for me and White Claw for Becky to take back to our friends' house where we were staying. Sheetz, for those who don't know, like we didn't, is a damn near everything store. Gas station, convenience store and made-to-order fast food restaurant. The store we visited on W. Maple in Hartville was impeccably clean and the employees friendly and courteous. They were out of the Becky's preferred flavor of White Claw, but oh well. The walk-in cooler was totally cool (pun intended). Despite not having Black Cherry White Claw, Sheetz had a very nice and varied selection of beer and seltzers. No booze though, as this was not a "State Store", something we learned about while in Ohio. Surprisingly beer and seltzer prices were actually higher than we typically see at home in San Diego. Curiously 24 seems to be the maximum case quantity of beer. No 30 or 36 packs to be found. Since when did Tecate become a "premium" import? LOL! read more

Manager of this store is extremely rude and disrespectful, had a problem with items ringing in for the wrong price she didn't even walk over to check the shelf all she said was "this isn't my store" and wouldn't fix the problem and I walked back to my car without what I went there for and my husband walked in to use the restroom and the whole staff was talking shit about me read more

I know, who really reviews gas stations right? I just have to say that I have been to several other sheetz, and I was not impressed, I come to this one on Wednesday nights usually to get snacks or slushies for the girls in my youth group, and it is always so well clean and organized, especially for the amount of kids who come in to hang out, you think there would be messes everywhere but the store is always in tip top shape. I am a huge fan of cleanliness in public places so I will continue to go out of my way to this one! read more

It was a pretty cool thing for the tiny village of Hartville to have its first convenience store with gas pumps. The gas pump we had on our farm had just broken and my father wasn't inclined to have it repaired ("you boys can buy gas at the station like everyone else") so the timing was right. Speedway was the go to place for fuel since it was usually the most inexpensive in the area. Naturally we would buy snacks, drinks and basic supplies while we were at the store. This Speedway remains basically the same now as it was then however it has deteriorated some over the years. With two access points from and to busy West Maple Street the location is convenient. Their pumps dispense three octane grades of gasoline and diesel fuel as well. You can also exchange propane tanks for your grill or pick up some bags of ice. Cash or credit, the price is the same. The building appears well maintained but the outside grounds could be kept up a little better. The pavement could benefit from a resurface or at least a cleaning, there was a bit of debris evident on my visit. Inside the building is what you would expect at a modern day convenience store. There was plenty of product on the shelves but some empty shelf space as well. The restroom was well stocked but could have used a good cleaning. I no longer live in Ohio but when I'm in Hartville this Speedway is my usual fuel spot to gas up my vehicle. I appreciate how long this business has endured, they still provide a decent value. I rate them at a solid three stars, pretty decent but some room for improvement.

So I said if that's the case why didn't you just ring them up separately? " because you didn't ask me to ring them up separately" she loudly exclaimed. I said this is the only speedway that does this, and she said 3 times " I guarantee it isn't and that I don't have to come back " Then she said I was trying to " fight " them. Apparently you can't question your bill anymore and if you do, apparently it was my responsibility to tell her how to do her job? Yeah, that would of went well ! The combination of the attitude, and speaking to me like a scolding parent, I guess I will take her message to me about not coming back as a gift.

Richard was extremely helpful and showed us where the garden department was located. Even the bags of dirt are displayed as beautifully as merchandise in a high-end store! After making our purchase, we decided to head over to the restaurant. We were warmly greeted and given our choice of a booth or table--we chose a booth. Our server, Josh, promptly offered beverages, and we enjoyed freshly brewed coffee while looking over the menu. I chose the BLT on a croissant with a side salad. The meal also came with fresh buns, available in either whole wheat or white. Josh told us that most people choose the white, which made me smile. The salad arrived almost immediately and included shredded lettuce, grated carrots, and two tomato slices with a side of blue cheese dressing. It was good, but the BLT--wow! It had more bacon than Miss Piggy could dream of. Unfortunately, there was no mayonnaise on it. I'm not sure whether it wasn't offered or if I simply overlooked it, but I added some to the half I brought home, and it was just as delicious later. I would highly recommend the BLT on a croissant. And if you have the opportunity, ask for Josh as your server. We were told we could request him, and honestly, I would go back just for his excellent service. Another fun aspect of the experience is the atmosphere. The place feels almost like a Las Vegas venue--huge, spotless, and designed to accommodate hundreds of guests. Despite its size, the service was outstanding. We even shared a few laughs with the dessert server. Speaking of desserts, you should see them--they're enormous! There was a line when we arrived, but we were pleasantly surprised to be seated within about 5-10 minutes. Instead of a traditional server, each table had a QR code that allowed us to order both food and drinks directly from our phones. We had no interaction with any server, we had one member who delivered our food and wine flights to our rebel and left. The system worked well and everything arrived quickly and efficiently. We both ordered the Lavender Salad with added chicken. The salad featured mixed greens topped with feta, cucumber, red onion, lavender-pickled blueberries, candied pecans, and a lavender blueberry dressing. It was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. We both agreed it was excellent. We also each ordered a wine flight, which included four 2-ounce samples. I sampled the Sinfully Red, Mad Cow, Hanky Panky, and Redneck Red. I enjoyed all four wines. Most were on the sweeter side, while the Sinfully Red was a nice dry option that provided a good contrast. The Lavender Festival itself was wonderful, with plenty of vendors to shop from and lots to see. We also tried the lavender lemonade, which was refreshing and perfect for a warm summer day. One thing that surprised me was the additional charge to access the lavender fields. It was $10 to walk through and take photos, or $20 to take photos and cut lavender to bring home. Personally, I felt the $10 photo fee was a bit steep and not quite worth it just to snap a few pictures, but I understand it's a business and an additional way for them to generate revenue. Giving this review a 3-star instead of a 5-star because I felt the food and wine flight was a bit pricey and I did not like that they charge you to walk through the lavender field. I ended up paying almost $45 for a salad and flight as there was a large tip automatically added onto my order. I wasn't given the option to add a customized tip. I didn't even receive a text receipt to my my phone showing what I would be charged and the addition of the tip, so I thought that was a little bit sneaky and unexpected. We had the food delivered to our table. No other interaction took place. Overall, despite those two things mentioned, Maize Valley did a great job handling a very busy event. Between the beautiful festival atmosphere, tasty food, enjoyable wines, and efficient service, it was a fun day.
