I attempted to purchase some wine at the Kent Walgreens. When the manager rang it up, he asked for…read moremy id, so I gave it to him. He then scanned it and proceeded to ask the girl in front of me for her id as well because I was talking to her and it appeared to him that she was "with" me because we were talking. He then refused to sell me the wine, which is ludicrous because the girl in front of me had nothing to do with my transaction and never touched the wine. I argued politely and he told me that it is the law that they id everyone who is "with" the person who is buying alcohol. I have read over the alcohol laws in Ohio and there is ABSOLUTELY no law of that nature. Regardless of whether that girl was "with" me or not, the store should not have any right to demand her id if she is not paying for or touching the alcohol. It might be a Walgreens policy (or the policy of that particular employee) - however the employee felt the need to lie to me and say it is the law. I have never had this problem in the past and have bought alcohol hundreds of times at hundreds of different establishments. I can only imagine that this store doesn't refuse to sell alcohol to any customer who walks in the store with their child. That being the case, I feel that I was unfairly discriminated against. I will not be ever purchasing another item from Walgreens again and I will encourage anyone I know to do the same.

I have never been in the store because, I pay for gas using a credit card. The exterior of the gas station is fairly run-down and mildly sketchy-feeling. They also really need to repave the parking lot or at least fix the potholes. But, I've never had a negative experience with the other patrons. Plan accordingly if you drive a bigger vehicle. It's a small gas station, which is rather cramped and usually busy. You may be required to use more patience than anticipated while trying to get to a gas pump. You'll also need to be fairly cautious when leaving and getting back onto the road. I would have rated this station higher, but I've had it with gas stations trying to gouge anyone who wants better gas. Do they think we don't notice? Anything above 10 cents more per grade is unacceptable.

I got two pork banh mi and summer rolls. I ate half a sandwich and one roll at a nearby park and had the other half for dinner when I got home. The bread was perfect--crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The veg was crisp and refreshing and the pork delicious, tender and moist. The summer roll was good, peanut sauce was perfect and I got a side of nước chấm so I could double dip. I had the second sandwich for breakfast.* I happily saw they put mayo on the banh mi so I asked for none and they made it without. Yay or otherwise yuk. I will make a special 55 minute trip to eat here again. *I go between Detroit and Cleveland on the regular so I usually get a banh mi for the road and one for the next day. Hear me out--deconstruct the sandwich and wrap the veg in a moist paper towel and seal in a glass jar. Store the bread in the paper bag it came in and put the meat away as you normally would. The next day wet the paper bag and put the bread in the oven for about 5 mins. Reheat the meat on the stove top, reassemble and enjoy.
