This was an oasis that took advantage of the nearby amusement park visitors. That sounds a bit nastier than it should, but there isn't much around here at this intersection competition wise when it comes to gas. They do have some competition when it comes to food with a few fast food establishments nearby. With it being the only gas station it was congested and hard to maneuver in the lot. Actually it was equally hard to maneuver inside as well with the congestion. I did make sure that I was able to use the facilities and refuel myself for my drive back to the hotel. I got my usual iced tea and grabbed a snack or two. What took the longest here was the checkout line. It was long and slow moving. Probably because it is the easiest place to stop to pick up a last minute item, grab a bite to eat, use the ATM, etc. next to the amusement park. I went to Sheetz on New Year's with my mom to get free cappuccinos because she had two free drinks on her Sheetz app. The lady at the counter was super rude when she scanned our phone three times for three drinks, but still insisted that we needed to pay for one of them. We even tried offering our phone again, thinking maybe one scan didn't go through, but she just rolled her eyes at us and refused. She kept arguing with us and wouldn't do anything to help. After finally scanning our phone again, it went through, and she just said, "Now, go enjoy those free drinks..." Her attitude was so unprofessional and rude, especially on a holiday. I've heard similar complaints from four other people who had bad experiences with this older lady too at the front counter as well. read more

I have been to many Sheetz locations all over PA, MD and VA and this one is seriously the worse. The only real reason to stop here is to get gas if you have the app so you save a few cents over the local stations. This location is always under staffed and if you stop in during breakfast lunch or dinner you will be there forever. I have ordered food here three times with my wife and if it is not a deli sandwich it's going to get messed up. I understand it's really the only option for 5 or so miles but this one is just not operating correctly. They do Sheetz food, but they do it so incredibly wrong it's mind boggling. If your going to be this understaffed for this long, limit your menu. (Just an FYI my three visits have been over the last 2 years as I live 10 miles away). We stopped here for gas and to use the restroom. The restrooms were dirty and no paper towels. Outside around the building it was very dirty and trash around. I know it's hard to get help anymore. But some one who works every shift needs to check this stuff and make sure the paper towels and toilet paper is full and also wear gloves and clean up outside. read more

WOW! This was by far the worst Sheetz I have ever seen, from trash outside to just plain messy and disorganized on the inside. We stopped after around 8 pm last night after going to Knoebels. Now granted, they were very busy with I'm sure, all the rest of Knoebels visitors throughout the day. I wanted a chicken wrap, one had pieces of chicken hanging out of the packing....did not look very sanitary....i wanted their flavored coffee, went up to the machine, put my cup under one (of only 2 out of 6 marked) pushed the button and very hot water spewed out from all directions from the machine....i walked over to let the cashier know and guess what....this was her reply " oh, yes I know, it is empty and broke and we need to fix it" (there was no signage about that).....my father in law ended up leaving his ordered pizza, when he ordered it, they said it would take 10 minutes, he walked back over after about 15 minutes because he had not heard his number...they proceeded to tell him it would be another 40 minutes until it was done. I felt really bad for the few workers scrambling there to get everyone checked out and filling all the orders! Shame on a manager on duty! Hire more workers and give them more pay for goodness sake! I felt bad for leaving, hopefully one of the workers can eat the pizza. I'm sure we were not the only ones that walked out. read more

Wish I could give a zero. It's right next to knoebels so you would expect it to be busy but waiting an hour for food is outrageous. I got 4 appetizers (which are all fried) and a taco. My fries were sitting on the counter for a solid 30 before being bagged and my taco was stale and they forgot one item. I get that they were busy in the middle of a rush but one customer was closely watching for their order and was yelled at by one of the workers. The costumer was not in the way. Brand new for 2018 - with all the most modern bells & whistles that a Sheetz has (except for the old-style Fizz City soda machines, ugh); and that's great for Elysburg, which doesn't have many good businesses around. Even with the old Sheetz that was here, this location seems to be the busiest place in town besides Knoebels' Grove in the summer. Now you have a Sheetz twice as big, with a dining room, outdoor seating, free WIFI, ice cream machines, modern ordering, better checkout register area to handle the lines, new lottery machine, and a beer cave (which just opened at the end of August). The parking lot is much bigger also, in order to handle the increased store traffic. Sheetz just doesn't get any better than this here in 2018, and it was sorely missed for the 5 months that it was closed beforehand. In fact, Sheetz really makes you appreciate just how good travelers have convenience/gas stations when compared to pre-Sheetz times. read more

Ugh, what to say about Sheetz. Well, I like to get gas here...it's quick, easy and close to home. I rarely see pumps out of service. Food service - UGH, I'd rather god out and kill a chicken for my own sandwich. It literally takes 20 minutes to make a bagel with butter... Come on. But, the service (at times) is great. Apparently in life there are two types of slow: 1. Normal slow 2. Sheetz in Elysburg slow We had just left Knobels and instead of paying for their overpriced slop we opted to pay for Sheetz overpriced slop and this was a mistake. Other than the shift manager everybody else was fairly clueless. She and another person were attempting to handle all of the food orders, of which there were many, but at the same time the girl working the register kept having issues with the register accepting credit cards, Sheetz Cards, and several other things and that kept the line at the register painfully long and the line waiting for food even longer. After more than twenty minutes I had the four things I ordered and finally was allowed to leave before starvation forced me to sleep in the parking lot as vital organs began to shut down due to malnutrition. I suppose if I were in the area again I might stop as there is not much here and this place is close to Knobels but at the same time, if I could find a different place and I remembered this review I would definitely keep driving. read more

2018 update: Elysburg Sheetz has been completely reconstructed and is now brand new. Personally, I prefer Sheetz over other available mini markets in our area like A Plus Sunoco or Turkey Hill Minit Markets. The Made To Order and three cents off gas per gallon are nice incentives. Elysburg Sheetz is an older, slightly smaller location in need of an overhaul. I don't stop here that often, but what annoyed me about my visit was I wanted to buy a lottery ticket, and the system was down....because they ran out of paper. Really? Went across the street to the Turkey Hill Minit Market that didn't have problems with there lottery machine. read more

went to the elysburg location to grab hoagies for lunch before knoebels. they somehow managed to mess up all three of our orders. payed for extra toppings/meats to not receive them. hoagies have two pieces of meat on them. toasted hoagie was as hard as a rock and none had dressings. i work in the service industry and just don't understand how this happens. read more

I will occasionally stop at this Sheetz while heading through Elysburg and let me tell you, I wish I lived closer because I LOVE it. Sheetz food is awesome and made to order and they're open 24/7 which is very convenient but the thing I love most is the staff. This place is crazy. I'm 50 years old and my wife is 42. We went in to buy one can of wine cooler, they asked us for I'd my wife forgot to renew her driver's license but mine was valid. We were on our way to Knoebels and my wife and I work very hard and long hours so we were looking forward to this get away. They would not sell us the wine cooler even though I had a valid pa I'd. Sheetz everywhere has lost all my business. I use to buy all my gas at sheetz which I drive from York to Harrisburg everyday and fill up twice a week they are at the corner of the block I live on. I will now take the extra trip across the queen st bridge to go to the sunoco station after this event that happened to us at sheetz in Eylesburg pa. I will get rid of my sheetz reward card. Coming through on a road trip I had to stop because my 4-year-old had to use the bathroom. The large bathroom stall that would have fit us all (me, my 4yo and my baby) had poop all over the place! Running down the toilet and all over the floor!!! I went to the next stall the the toilet seat was broken. Went to the next one and covered it in TP so my daughter could use it. I had to put my baby in her car seat down on the filthy floor in the doorway because the stall was too small for all of us. So my daughter had to pee with the door open. We went to wash her hands and the sink was broken! The entire bathroom was filthy and disgusting and the store was packed full of customers waiting for food and a line so long at the register we could barely get through to leave. I know they were busy but the bathroom conditions were unacceptable. They really need better staff support at such a vital location being so close to Knoebels. read more

If you can avoid it, do not get your food here. I have consistently waited 40 minutes for online orders, and they always forget sauces or even whole parts of my order. My most recent order: they forgot my drink, they ran out of an item, they forgot 3 sauces, my heated items were cold, and they did not add parts I requested to one of the orders. It never seems they have enough employees during a rush, and the employees they do have seem as if they're brand new to the job. read more

We visited your store on Monday, 6-24-19 and I was very pleased with the size of your parking lot (for I was pulling a camper after visiting Knobles). It was also nice to see that tractor trailers could maneuver without having to block the whole parking lot! While I stayed in our truck to stay with our dog, my husband came in to get us something to eat for lunch. He walks with a cane, and since we got home...we cannot find it. This is the only place we stopped on our way home. The problem is; I have tried calling your store & the phone number you have posted on your web page is NO LONGER IN SERVICE! The coffee is good, and I stop for a cup most days. The MTO drinks are good as well. On the other hand, the "MTO" food is average. I will eat it when necessary, but it's nothing to write home about. Wawa definitely has them beat. The staff is personable. Multiple employees go out of their way to chat with you, and they always seem to care about the customer. read more

Service here - two stops in two days, coming and going from my destination - was not as slow as the other reviews would make you think. I suppose other grocery stores in PA have them, but this is a great place to stop and pick up Utz potato chips and Tastykakes. They may sell nutritious food also, but who knows? read more
